City BBQ has some of the best brisket you will ever have. I always end up getting the brisket sandwich with a side or two. This time around I got the brisket sandwich with collard greens. The brisket was cooked perfectly with still having a nice soft bark and amazing flavor. Service was amazing as the cashier was playful and having fun. Someone who truly enjoys talking with people and watch them struggle with all the great food options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most City BBQ locations look similar however they stay true to the city they are located in. They go for the steel and wood look.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Some locations have the smokers on the side and you can see and smell all the meat cooking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most have local school team helmets and sport props. Called to order carryout order, unable to get past rude, snarky female who answered the phone. She insisted that I give my email address for verification and to pay for the order before I even left my house. I asked if this link could be texted to me instead, but rude female was talking over me, "ma'am, ma'am, ma'am", I told her I just wanted to place my order, she continued - I finally just told her forget it and I hung up. City bbq on Henderson road you just lost business last night and for the future! What crappy customer service and policy! Never again! I love City Barbecue, let me tell you I am being dead serious when I say they have the best potato salad anywhere, it's SO GOOD! The pork and brisket were so nice and tender and had so much flavor. I'm a fan of the bushfire bbq sauce, it has a good kick to it. The banana pudding was so tasty! I came with a friend and she got the same thing and she was also raving about it. The service was amazing, the people who took my order were very nice, the wait time for the food was very good. My favorite is the 'bama chicken, but also can't go wrong with pulled pork with sweet bbq sauce, topped with cole slaw. What is up with city barbecue . Turkey salad use to be great, use to order and get warm turkey, now no turkey but chicken for extra cost. They eliminated the cranberries, no cheese in salad . Now the price goes from 9.99 to 13.99, what's wrong with this picture. Sorry but I won't be buying in the future and you should not either. Making items worse than better. read more

I've been a customer here for years and hadn't been in in a while. The food is always superb whether it be the main entrées or the sides. Stopped in tonight to get dinner and was really surprised at the scant portions, most notably, the ribs. As with all things, the prices increased unbelievably were five ribs, one side and a glass of water costing over $18. However, the ribs were so small. It was a little more than a snack, rather than a dinner. Love this place, but can't in good conscience return very often if this is the value one receives. read more

The chicken was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The green beans tasted fresh and the pieces of ham infused it with a very nice flavor. The potato salad was excellent. Stopped by City BBQ for lunch. Unfortunately, didn't see a lunch menu so I went with a combo pulled pork and bbq chicken, cole slaw and potato salad. The pulled pork was moist and tasted ok. The bbq chicken was dry and really lacked taste. I had to pour bbq sauce on it to eat it. Potato salad, cole slaw, and toast were good. I think the pulled pork would have been better between two slices of bread. I should have gotten ribs instead of the chicken. A lot of food for lunch. Would not try this combo again. read more

Went to City BBQ today for some brisket because I've had some co-workers rave about how good it is. I had no idea what to expect but this was the best lunch ever. Generally City BBQ has always provided great BBQ. Yesterday our order for my Wife's Birthday and Super Bowl.... We received the worst Brisket I've ever experienced from any BBQ Restaurant. So sad that City Barbeque changed their cole slaw recipe. I tried it anyway, altho I wanted the vinegar based one they served previously. It wasn't good. One if the best BBQ places I could eaten from! I pass by all the time and decided to try for the first time. I have been back almost everyday! Why cook when it's done for you. Food was good and service was excellent. I told the staff member it was my first time and they lead me through the menu and what was their favorite items to order. Ordered the six piece wings (smoked) and fries! Truly wish I would've just went to get the three dollar bacon Ater from Wendy's instead of paying almost $13. It was awful. No smoky flavor on the wings. They were cooked good though french fries were awful asked for them crispy. You wouldn't even know it and why do they only offer two sized teas? The stir fried vegetables were sautéed with garlic -- a bit on the bland side but pretty good and a good complement to the spice levels of the Sichuan fish. The quality and variety of Sichuan offerings in Columbus continues to grow, and Fiery Sky Asian Kitchen is the latest example of this. We will definitely be repeat customers here.
