My fiancé and I came here to celebrate the "1 year until we get married". The food looked good and they had oysters, which me wanted. The food we had was absolutely perfect. Every bit of it was delicious. The service was good, we were attended to and given great recommendations. The volume in the place at one point was a tad loud, but obviously that's not their fault. It seemed like a popular enough place!

First time at a Hyde park, and safe to say we were left a little disappointed. The food was fine, I wouldn't say anything (except the carrot cake) was exceptional, but overall the food was good. I don't think it's the best steakhouse in Columbus though. But I'll get back to the food. What really made our experience less than ideal was the service (or rather, lack thereof). We determined that it was likely a management issue, and we think our server might have had too much going on, but we got our food much later than other people who showed up after us, didn't get the complimentary bread basket until we inquired about it, didn't get our water glasses refilled until well into the meal (which we had to wait over an hour for anyway), and our tables were only bussed between apps and dinner after we waited long enough that we stacked the plates. For the amount we paid for the meal (a family of 5), we were very underwhelmed and expected better. In terms of the food, I apologize in advance for the less than ideal and not high quality photos. The lighting was quite dark and didn't allow for great photos without flash (even then not great). We got the seafood tower for the appetizer, which was alright, as anticipated. The oysters were small, and I didn't feel like I got a lot of flavor from them. Next we had salad. I felt that the Caesar was a little overdressed, but that's personal opinion. For dinner, we all got steak. I shared the dry aged ribeye with my partner, and we had plenty of sides including lobster Mac, mashed potato, asparagus, and brussel sprouts. The sides were all good, but I reiterate that nothing blew me out of the park. I've definitely had better lobster Mac elsewhere. Finally, dessert was probably my favorite part. The carrot cake was enormous and definitely feeds more than 2-4 if you've had a full meal. The chocolate torte is quite decadent and rich, wonderful chocolaty flavor. Overall, given the the experience, I don't think I'll go out of my way to return. I won't be upset if I find myself back there, but it won't be somewhere I choose to go.

Eclectic building that opened in 1989 and is mostly original. It's a great vibe if you're a Baby Boomer or Gen X but still very nice! The menu is mostly meat and potatoes with some seafood choices thrown in. We all enjoyed steaks that were as advertised on the menu and cooked perfectly. The sides were fantastic, especially the seasonal mushrooms and au gratin potatoes! Save room for desert, the flaming butter cake flamed tableside was fabulous! Last but definitely not least, we enjoyed what might have been the best service I've ever experienced. We were treated like family, every need met, and we laughed and enjoyed a fantastic evening. I'm sorry I hadn't experienced this gem earlier, we'll definitely be back!

While the culinary experience was outstanding, the overall visit fell short in several important areas. The food and wine offerings were exceptional, and for that reason, I would still recommend this location. However, to enjoy a true fine dining experience, I suggest requesting a specific server and speak with a manager about seating preferences vs the hostesses. If you don't, expect a more casual level of service that doesn't quite align with the elevated quality of the cuisine. We had requested seating in a quieter area for business, but were instead placed near regular guests known for humming loudly throughout their meals. Interestingly, the manager immediately understood our request for a different table without needing an explanation, suggesting this is a recurring issue. Our server's approach was overly casual and lacked the professionalism expected in a fine dining setting. There was no introduction, no beverage or menu recommendations, and we had to request bread service. Tap water was poured without inquiring about preference, and made us feel like we weren't worth his time. Hospitality appeared to be an afterthought. The cocktail experience was especially disappointing. I ordered two smoked Old Fashioneds--drinks I've enjoyed at other Hyde Park locations--but both were poorly executed. After speaking to the bartender, I learned the server is responsible for stirring the drink or the Agave syrup will sit at the bottom of the drink. Our server nor the manager could explain why the drink was unbalanced and upon leaving the bartenders explained. I let the manager and server know. No drinks taken off. I paid for both drinks that I could only drink 60% of each drink. Would not recommend old fashioned at the Upper Arlington Hyde Park. Despite these service-related issues, the kitchen truly delivered. Every course was impeccably prepared, and the flavors were exceptional. Kudos to the culinary team for their consistency and high standards--you are the highlight of this location. We now dine here every Christmas Eve, since Spagio closed. It does not disappoint, and has been a good replacement for us. The steaks are excellent, and prepared the way you ask. There is a nice selection of sauces/toppings (the bordelaise is the best I've had) and the sides dishes are wonderful. Too many restaurants, in my opinion, don't put much into their side dishes, but Hyde Park does. The servers have always been very attentive and on top of it, we rarely have to ask for anything. I only wish they had better accommodations for people with mobility issues. As a well-known establishment in UA for about 40 years, they probably have regular customers now middle-age or elderly. There are only 2 handicap spots in the parking lot, and no bench or chairs near the door for those who may need to wait for their table. If they made improvements on this, I would give them 5 stars.

I expected a little more from Hyde Park. For starters the bread basket was disappointing. I don't usually even comment an out a bread basket but it was a sad start. The rolls were rock solid and 1 of the 2 pretzel sticks were doughy. For an appetizer I ordered the wedge salad, it was very good. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with the lemon butter sauce. The fish was cooked well but lacked so much flavor. It needed more lemon or something to brighten up or highlight the fish. The sauce tasted was very flavorless, just butter. My husband ordered the 16oz Ribeye, it was cooked perfectly and was the better choice. For sides we ordered the whipped garlic potatoes and the asparagus. The ambiance seems dated with a much older clientele. I was a little disappointed in the service as well, our server wasn't very attentive. I just expected it to be a little better.

I dined here in November for a family members birthday and this was my first experience with Hyde Park. I've heard the name of course and always thought of it as a really fancy and expensive place. I was a little surprised to find the interior was more classic than it was elegant but I really liked the vibe. I wasn't wrong about the expensive part though, that's for sure. We all started with drinks and I unfortunately can't remember the name of the one I had and it's been so long I don't even remember the notes. I do remember that it was a bit tart and I really liked it. For starters everyone else split oysters Rockefeller and some shrimp cocktail. I'm not a seafood person so I had the caesar salad and it was really delicious. Only thing that seemed a bit unusual is that cracked black pepper wasn't offered, but it was fine by me because I didn't want any. For my entree I went classic with a filet mignon ordered medium rare push. I didn't grab a picture of it cut open but it was more like rare push, hadn't even made its way to medium rare. This was a bummer because it was the main component of my meal, but I managed. I also ordered bernaise sauce for it (extra $5) and I'm pretty sure it was just put on top of the hot steak which resulted in it just pooling on the plate and I wasn't really able to get much of it on the steak. I would have preferred it in a dish on the side that I could add to each bite. The huge highlight here were the sides. The creamed corn was absolutely to die for and we were all fighting over it. The potatoes au gratin were a close runner up - super creamy, cheesy, and buttery. The asparagus added some nice crunch and a little bit of health to the meal. For dessert I had my first ever espresso martini and wow what a day to choose! This was phenomenal and definitely has me wanting more. We ordered three desserts - creme brûlée, bananas foster cake, and the giant carrot cake. The creme brûlée was standard and very delicious. The bananas foster was great as well and our server Cody (who was great the whole meal) did a great job getting us a nice good flame. The giant carrot cake is just that - giant. This is the one thing we didn't finish and had to take home. Overall this was a great experience and great meal. I would consider returning here for special occasions but with my budget it would have to be maybe a once a year type thing.

Came in on a Wednesday night for dinner and had a very nice experience. Cody our server was very good, but somewhat limited in terms of what he could provide. He suggested a couple of different Cabernet samples to determine which I would like with my dinner. It took forever for some other guy to bring them out. By the time I got my wine, the steaks were on the table. So much for giving it some time to breath. Started with a smoked old fashioned. Daughter had some gin cocktail. Both were brought to the table quickly and were very good. We also each got the French Onion Soup. Though the flavor was excellent, the temperature was luke warm at best, a bit disappointing. I had a standard ribeye. It was cooked to a perfect medium and seasoned splendidly. However, most of it was tough. Only about one-fifth was the tender marbled ribeye I expected. SO maybe I'm being a little bitch when it comes to meeting expectations, but for $250, I expect a 5 star experience all the way. If it wasn't for our server, this would have been a 3.

I would say all the apps and side were so good! I got calamari and salmon caesar salad. When I first saw my calamari I was like, oh! This is not what I expect, but after my first bite....ummm yummy. Too bad my salad wasn't that good, the salmon wasn't good at all, I only ate veggies. My husband got his steak (of course) and sides, turned out his sides were a lot better than the steak, he requested medium rare but it came medium and some part was cooked. With his 2 glasses of wine we spent around $250, with the very slow service and just okay food, I don't think I like it that much, maybe get calamari for to go?

I never knew this location existed! I guess it's the original location in Columbus. It's very quaint inside the restaurant and it's a lot bigger than it looks. I love the decorations with the wine on the walls along with their wall of famous people that have eaten at this restaurant. We were seated right away for our 7PM reservation. We were in the back corner which was kind of nice. The waitress got us waters right away along with getting our drink orders. They have lots of cocktails and wine options. I tried one of their Italian wines and it was delicious! Their steak entrees are all named after famous Ohio coaches or sports related people. For the main course, we ordered two 8oz Steak Kosar ($48) and one 6oz Steak Kosar ($42) which is A Filet Mignon with asparagus, lobster & bearnaise, and sliced mushrooms. We also got an order of the Steak Woody ($27) which is petite cuts of tenderloin wrapped in bacon, melted blue cheese & bordelaise sauce. We also ordered sides of whipped garlic potatoes ($7), spinach & mushrooms ($9), and roasted brussels sprouts ($11). They start you off with giving a different variety of warm bread and butter. It's way too easy to stuff yourself with bread, but don't be like me! The entrees came out about 20 minutes later and let me tell you that Steak Kosar was amazing! I got medium rare and it was cooked perfectly with the lobster on top. The mushrooms and the sauce? TO DIE FOR! All of the sides were amazing too. The mushrooms were truly my favorite part. The manager, Phillip I believe, checked in on us and our meal and gave us his card. The service is outstanding. We did not get dessert, but looking at the other tables, their desserts are massive! It is a pricey meal, but if you have a special occasion, I would go :)

We love Hyde Park and always have! The service is personalized and kind. I always order the strip with mushrooms and garlic and love it each time. The only complaint I have is from the time we ordered dessert and received it, it was 25 minutes. I'm not sure if our server forgot to put it in or what. But by the time it arrived we were ready to go. Other than that mishap, I had a good experience here celebrating my graduation.

Overall: 6.5/10 - I would recommend this place to someone who doesn't really care about Food that much and is wowed by like an STK or a more chain like "fancy restaurant" I was hoping to get more of a small boutique very intentional experience at this restaurant just based on the outside by the field, but it definitely feels like they've cut a few corners when it comes to building a really unique food experience I would love to come back and give it another try because maybe I just came at an off time. Majority of people will give us an eight out of 10 rating. My girlfriends take on the restaurant Brussels Sprouts: 9/10 Lamb chops: 8/10 The Clover Club: 8/10 Filet: 6.5/10 Sea Bass: 1/10 Hamachi Crudo: 2/10 Menu: 4/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Price: 3/10

Our server, Alex, was incredibly kind and helpful, but was also so incredibly down to earth. That alone made us feel so much more comfortable, and I truly appreciate that. Moving to the food, the peach burrata was exceptional! And the carbonara and bolognese were beyond tasty. Overall, this was one of the best meal experiences that u have ever had and I am so incredibly happy that we were able to celebrate our anniversary here (I proposed to her after dinner!) Thank you for the amazing experience, and I cannot wait for the next time we come back! We'll ask for Alex again lol

We were celebrating a birthday, and she even offered to take pictures for us, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the occasion feel extra special. Ethan, our server assistant, was equally fantastic. He made sure our drinks were always full and kept the table cleared promptly, helping everything run smoothly throughout our meal. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the outstanding service from both Allie and Ethan truly made our visit memorable. We can't wait to come back!
