The pulled chicken sandwich and the corn pudding were amazing! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Alex took our order at the front and was SUPER friendly! Amazing service! Everything was clean and spacious too.

New to area so we went hoping for greatness. Disclaimer, we are from the south and are Sonny's bbq fans. First , waited in line and we were next to Oder. Then we heard the cook yell up to order taker that they were out of ribs. 7 pm and out of ribs? Really? What bbq joint is out of ribs? So I ordered Mac and cheese to be completely shocked that they are serving really low end JTM cheap Mac and cheese. Taste like dish water. I mean come on, at least buy a premium Mac and cheese. Sysco has several different price ranges. This is worse than school lunch. My wife ordered 2 meat plate. Brisket had no smoke ring and tasted bland without any smoke flavor. It was moist but no flavor. Collards we salty and tasted like they were directly out of an Allen's can of collards. Delicious metallic flavor City BBQ! Very disappointing!

I've been to city BBQ quite a few times over the years and today was one of the better experiences I have had. It seems as though the Powell location is managed well. The service was quick and friendly. The brisket was absolutely amazing. Also, I highly recommend the corn pudding.

I was early enough for happy hour and had a wonderful Cucumber Gimlet. The service was excellent. I ordered the House Chopped Salad, Lake Erie Walleye, and Lemon Blueberry Panna Cotta. The salad tasted really good and fresh. The Walleye too. I liked the fennel salad with cilantro lime rice. I ate half to take some home and not be too full for dessert. The panna cotta was good, mostly because of the topping. It is not something I would order again, being kind of bland, but to no fault of the kitchen. I'm not a custard-y kind of gal, but wanted to try it. I would definitely come back here for another meal.

Everyone from the hostess to our server was very friendly and nice. They have a full bar and a decent selection of beers. My wife and I decided to share their whipped ricotta appetizer and their French onion burger. The appetizer came with thinly cut crusted baguette. The ricotta cheese was mixed with some strawberry flavor. It wasn't bad but I would have preferred it to be thicker in constituency. The burger and fries came out perfectly cut into half portions for each of us, which was a really nice touch. We had asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare and I think it came out more like a medium well. The patty itself was a bit dry. This may be a one off issue and we hope to return to try some other dishes.

Our choices: lamb appetizer, black cod, sirloin, and chocolate mousse; each were tasty, presented well, and excellent dishes. The potato cake on the steak was very different and well done. Our Old Fashion had a nice taste. The place is very small and reservations are a must. The small cozy atmosphere was a delight to enjoy a wonderful meal and conversation. The drinks were exceptionally great and since I'm coming from California, very affordable. The food was delicious, especially the braised beef croquets, chicken friend mushrooms, whipped ricotta, and sourdough. The pork collar and the tare squash were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I requested the sommelier to recommend a wine that would compliment our order and the Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf - du- Pape a fine French wine from the Rhone Valley was our selection. This was a beautiful bottle and fine selection. John, our server was the perfect gentlemen and server with great personality and full of customer service.

Our drink orders were taken and questions answered. The appetizers were all so good. Bread service was warm and fresh, bruschetta was prepared well and was a good amount of food per order. The pretzel rolls were a big hit as well. Salty but still soft. While relaxing the kids got chilly and Kyle offered them blankets which was a really nice touch. Then came the meal. The kids ordered playbread pizzas (sauce was a little spicy), Mac and cheese (which was devoured), and chicken tenders (good amount for a kids meal!). Adults had the sweet potato pasta (delish! And had a little kick), salmon (which they raved about how flaky and well cooked it way), baked cod (flavorful and prepared well), fried cod (nice and flaky, great batter!), and lemon chicken (chicken was a little dry but overall delicious). The potatoes that came with many meals were crispy and soft, perfectly seasoned. This was a really good meal, and we will definitely be back when in town!

Still expensive. $27 I think for a sandwich, two sides, two drinks. But, standard "captive audience" prices, and decent portions. The food itself was better than anything else I've had at the zoo, and there are more options. Baby K had a side of mac, I had a kielbasa sandwich with fries. The mac was fancier than you'd expect from food service places: big curly cavatappi, creamy multi-cheese sauce (supposedly smoked.) A little too fancy for a kid, at least my kid. She said it was good but didn't eat much. I liked it, and ate what I could to avoid wastage. The fries were pretty darn good, to both of us. Big, crispy, lightly salted. The kielbasa was huge, way bigger than the bun, and topped with decent mustard and pickled onions. A pretty good combo. The sausage itself was mild and sweet, so Baby K also had some of that and loved it. No lids or straws, so hard to carry drinks away (on purpose.) Very good service at the counter, and other employees around to help clean up, etc. Great atmosphere- you can see the lion pen, there is indoor and outdoor seating in impressive comfort, and steady but not busy at 11 on a weekday morning.

Regardless, we were seated right away. We were given a spot at a high top inside but adjacent to the open windows for some fresh evening air and a nice cooling breeze. Unfortunately, service throughout the night was a little spotty. The first round of drinks took a while to come out, the app went missing, our server (who seemed slightly less than enthused all night) took the liberty of snagging an extra one for us, and then our entrees came out right at the same time. I started with the sunrise mojito. Being a bit of a rum snob, I am particularly picky when it comes to rum-based drinks and this one did not disappoint. Probably one of the best takes on a mojito I've had in quite a while. I eventually followed that up with the peach bourbon smash, which was also tasty but pretty heavy on the peach and less on the bourbon. To get started on food, we ordered the street corn nachos. Now, I do love street corn, but something about corn on top of nachos on paper doesn't exactly sound like my personal first choice. However, since my coworker was putting the food on his company card, he went that route. Man, what a mistake I made in my assumption. Absolutely amazing. Gooey cheese, excellent flavors, and not too much to fill you up. My coworker got the shrimp capellini, which looked excellent and he agreed it was solid. I opted for the crispy chicken sandwich (a gochujang aioli? Come on). The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was indeed crispy but also quite juicy. The fries were also delicious being slightly soft, slightly crisp, and not too salty. All in all, a couple service hiccups aside, this was a really fantastic place. I definitely will be sure to make my way back here if I find myself on another work trip for sure!

I've gone during brunch for my most recent visits and can't seem to stay away from the breakfast tacos. I think what makes the tacos stand out is the fried chicken. It's deliciously crisp while still maintaining an excellent moistness. Add that with gravy on top?? 10/10! I find that two tacos is plenty especially considering the side of potatoes. Highly recommend this dish! The true star of this restaurant is the biscuits, whether it's the cheddar & scallion or the cinnabiscuits. I truly don't think I've had a better biscuit in Columbus. They're THAT good. You can't dine here without ordering one of these options. I love the environment and how friendly all my waiters have been.
