In all honesty, I have tried out City Burgers several times and I think the food is not as good as it could be. Most of the burgers are priced pretty high but the food doesn't really match the price at all. If you spend around $10 on a burger you don't expect it to be just average. The service here is always very good and the staff is very friendly. The only reason I go back here is because it's convenient and only a 5 minute drive. We just tried the sliders at City Burger...they were delicious....cooked as we requested. The place was immaculate, staff wearing masks while working and sanitizing countertops. What started as a frown :( turned around :) Picked up my order although I had to repeat my order saying no cheese and do remember hearing background static; picked up my order and the burger had cheese. The nice fella who witnessed me conversing and being upset with the cashier (because I have a specific diet for health reasons) approached me was professional and offered to remake my order (didn't have enough time on lunch break) offered it for free (I don't like anything for free ) so he charged me half off when I opened my box it was the same excitement as winning a scratch off ticket ! Such an amazing restaurant! It's set up sort of like a Five Guys except they bring the food to your table after you order at the counter. I had the Honolulu burger. It was the perfect amount of grease, the grilled pineapple was a great addition to the burger, and hands down the best sweet potato fries I've ever had! New burger spot on Van Dyke. The inside looks great with the remodel. Clean and open. Counter staff was friendly. The menu has a good variation of burgers. Prices are typically $9.99 on average. Burgers come with drink and fries. There are other toppings to choose from too They have a Beyond burger if you want meatless. The menu has wraps, sandwiches and wings. Their onion rings are fantastic. The fries taste a little like Burger King. Overall a great addition to the $10 lunch crowd. Only con I saw was the styrofoam containers and cups. read more

I ordered the basic burger combo, well done with grilled onions. The waitress was fast and friendly. I was served a good jucy burger, good small side of Cole slaw, and good pickle spear. The standard fries were served fresh and hot but lacked flavor so I only ate about a quarter of the fries. I will probably try their other French fry options next time. read more

I had the Detroiter burger. This was my first time trying one with a fried egg on it. It was very good. It was delivered to my work place. My co-workers all commented on how it smelled great. It was a good overall burger place. The place was pretty empty when we got there. The burger I got was good. It was a plain cheeseburger but it was still good. The other person I was with got the Tuscan burger. She said it was good. The waffle fries were really good, I love waffle fries so I am judgmental lol. We got a Oreo shake that was really good, a little small for the price. The decor was cool and the murals were different. They had TVs in the corners that had some movies on. Not a great meal here. Ordered take out and everything was soggy by the time we got home (less than a mile drive). The pickle was just laying in my fries soaking the fries and making them taste like pickles. Aside from poor take out packing, the food just wasn't anything note worthy. Everything was all just so-so. Nothing that pulled me back and said I have to eat here again. Combine all the negatives and it's not an experience I will enjoy again. We decided to try this place during lunch after noticing the new signs. It's very new still but the flavors are amazing and well worth trying. There's plenty of seating: about 15 tables, all four seaters. So far, it's still pretty quick and quiet for lunch. We came during the normal time for lunch rush and there were still loads of tables available. When you order, you grab your own drink (only one size styrofoam cup) BUT you wait at a table for your meal to be delivered to your table. Listen for your name as they'll call it out to see who reacts. They also sell bottled water if you don't want fountain drinks. I got The Detroiter. It's a double patty burger with egg and cheese. You have to add toppings if you want anything else (ketchup, tomato, lettuce, etc). It was delicious and well cooked. Extremely juicy! Your burger is cooked to order so it hits the table hot. They do toast the inside of your burger bun BUT the buns are way too soft and get immediately soggy. I think better buns would improve the burger eating experience. I hate when the buns fall apart. The fries are normal cut but you can upgrade to waffle fries, which I got and loved. The fries are fresh, hot, crispy, and unsalted. It would have been perfect with hot sauce but I don't know if City Burger has hot sauce packets hidden somewhere. I only saw ketchup and mustard packets by the drinks and bottles on the table. The cole slaw is sweet and not the flavors I prefer but it was a small side. I would definitely go again and try more menu items. No one who came to lunch was dissatisfied. I went here for the first time and had the Dallas Burger which comes with bacon cheese and bbq sauce. I also added pickles and lettuce. Burger was excellent, they are not using crappy frozen patties here, everything was very fresh and tasted great. The food was not bad at all. The meat for my New Yorker burger was unseasoned, but fries and coleslaw were very good. Menu was on a screen and moved very fast so it was hard to pick a burger. Not too memorable, and the staff took off their masks repeatedly while preparing food, and while in the cooking area, which is not great to see while Michigan laws are still very strict on mask wearing. Family heard about a new burger joint in town. We're the type to support local. So we all went in on a Saturday night. Service was exceptional. Everything was clean and sanitary. The food was great. Generous portions. All cooked exactly as ordered. We all left pleased. As we were leaving we were given menu's, stating they offered delivery. After a long days work. City burger has great burgers and clearly is a mom and pop type business. I loved the fact that they cook their burgers to order as well (rare to well done.) customer service felt a little amateur. Some corners cut to save a dollar. I'm a big believer in Heinz ketchup and generic ketchup just finest taste the same to me. Paper towel instead of napkins as well. However it did give the joint some feeling of being at a backyard cook out. With a little focus on customer server this could be a 5 Star business. read more

Food was sub par, nothing at all like the reviews or pictures depict. Prices are reasonable for basic things, then to upgrade to a meal is where it adds up the cost. The staff is newer, a bit inexperienced for service industry however were very nice and welcoming. We called in a carry out, the wait time was 15 minutes we arrived in about 15 to 20 to pick up our food. They had it all ready and packed up for us.
