My work gets catered lunches from here and I will say it is mediocre at best. I think they order catering from here because it fits their budget. The dishes tend to be under-seasoned or overcooked. We usually have lots of leftover because no one really likes this place and have asked them to stop ordering food from here. I'm only giving them 3 stars because of their fruit plate which is usually good and fresh. read more

My company ordered food for staff today from City Fare. I had the veggie lasagna. It was pretty good, presentation was good. For me that makes a big difference when you receive catered food. It came with a side salad, small slice of garlic bread and a cookie. My co worker had a pasta dish, i didnt taste it, but it looked good. I would order from this service again. read more

I used City Fare again for a personal event at my home. The head server was first rate, asking me about things and deciding how to present the food best. The food itself was very good so really 4 1/2 stars but the service was 5 star. I worked with Fabio who was terrific and very responsive. I had given the wrong date for the event and only told them the morning of the planned date; they pulled together the event for the next night which was the intended day, with one day's notice and saved a calamity of having to cancel a party for 60 people. I have used them previously for 4 business events and was always pleased with both food quality and service. I would certainly recommend them. read more

I had CityFare at a dinner last night and it was pretty good for a catered buffet. The meal was salad, roasted chicken, vegan pasta, and grilled vegetables. The chicken was moist and juicy, but the pasta was a little dry. The grilled vegetables were nicely seasoned and the salad looked fresh so I'd say the overall meal was pretty good. The presentation was nice as well so I'd say if you're looking to get food catered, give them a try. I don't know prices as I was a guest, but I can tell you the food was tasty. read more

So I read a few reviews on this place, and I must say . . . I think they read your reviews people, because their food has improved. I've been meaning to write a review of this place for a long time and I think it's time. Our office always orders food from here for our in-office luncheons. They always arrive 15 - 30 mins ahead of our scheduled gathering. Their menu is HUGE and their food is ALWAYS beautifully displayed . . . taste is good as well. Surprisingly, one of my favorite things they make is their ranch dressing. It's the bomb, as well as their green chili too. It's hot and spicy, the way I like my men!!!! I'll tell you what, I'll let my pictures speak for themselves . . . I say you give them the chance to prove themselves and your piggy staff will have full bellies = happy employees. city fare used to cater lunches for sale up in the office lunch room, but with all the choices in downtown, they've scaled back and my office uses them for catering receptions. the presentation, style, selection, taste, and quality are all excellent. i'm not sure how much they charge, but i've been to at least two dozen of the receptions. different variations / different budgets, all very nice. read more

I can't discuss the prices of this place because again it was another catered meal at work. To say it fit into my company's weekly lunch budget and fed an office of somewhere around 30 hungry people, must mean its reasonably priced. We had the Old Fashioned Burger Bar, Salad, and Potato Salad. It was pretty good. I ate the veggie burger because I prefer them and it was just like a morning star farms burger that you can make at home. I love Morning Star Farms so to me it was great but if I went out somewhere and ordered a veggie burger I'd expect something a little more spectacular. I have to say that I really appreciated the salad which was fresh mixed greens and the veggies they provided for the burgers were great! Very crisp and fresh! The quacomole was good also. read more

I attended a wonderful luncheon following a memorial service in Beverly Hills on Saturday. The luncheon was catered by City Fare. We were all raving about the food and presentation. Everything was fresh and delicious, consisting of various types of sandwiches & a few different salads, and desserts bars. City Fare was on the list of approved vendors for the facility we had an event at and I'm so glad we went with them. Their prices were more than reasonable and they were so quick to respond to my emails. Delivery was on-time and seamless - this was the easiest time I've ever had with a caterer. Would use them again in a heartbeat. The only thing was that they didn't have their menu on their website, and I am too lazy to call/email and request it. My company and I booked City Fare Catering to cater our annual holiday party. We worked with Fabio to put the whole event together and he was extremely easy to work with! Communication went with ease and we even made adjustments to our order last minute and they were able to work around it. We went with an Asian fusion type of cuisine with street tacos and soba noodles set-up, as well as 2 bars that we placed on separate sides of the venue. We had a set budget, so they were kind enough to give a breakdown of the pricing per person of each of the dishes. Food and service were amazing! My work orders from here alot and they have really good food. I just went to a meeting a few weeks ago and they had the strawberry salad which was a spinach salad with strawberries and chunks of goat cheese. I was amazed on how good it tasted. The salmon was sooo good and so fresh tasting and it had some time of crust or crumbs on it. The potato tart is really goood too. I have never had anything bad from here. My company orders food from City Fare on a regular basis, and I can see why. Everything is always fresh and delicious! I'm definitely a fan. For breakfast, I'd recommend their bacon, breakfast potatoes, breakfast burritos, waffles, and french toast. It comes with all the fixin's too--salsa, sour cream, guacamole, fresh berries, butter, syrup, whipped cream, etc. For lunch, they do all types of cuisines. I've had their burgers and hot dogs and picnic salads, as well as Italian, Mexican (get the taquitos!), and even Hawaiian food. Their grilled vegetables are to die for! Their desserts are also great, like molten chocolate cake and especially their cookies. They always arrive early to set up and come back at a specified time to pick up. Don't know what their prices are like, but I think it's pretty reasonable since we are able to order from here on a consistent basis. read more

I have ordered from City Fare off and on for the past 5 years. They are always on time and arrive early to set-up. The quality of the food has always been excellent, always fresh. If you have any special requeste they are great at accomodating them. The staff has always been courteous and friendly when setting up the food display. This place is the worst. My office used to order from them for different meetings in house as well as meeting at client locations. Lil' by lil' we stopped using them and completely stopped after our clients telling us not to order the food we always ordered for them due to finding bugs on the salad. Arriving late and not to mention bad presentation. We had the same problem in our office. We asked for food at 11:00 and they showed up at 11:20. When I called to find out where our food was. They kept saying the driver was 5 min away. "city Late" I know work with City Kitchen Catering they are located in Downtown LA. The food isn't bad but the service was horrendous. They left the catering dishes behind (they dropped off/set up and then forgot to pick the dishes up). We rinsed out this dishes, put them all on one place in our maintenance office and waited for them to come back. However, The worst part is when they came to pick up the dishes two days later. Our maintenance staff was busy when they arrived and the dishes were in the maintenance office. The man who came to pick up the dishes was rude and claimed we were wasting his time because the dishes weren't available when he came. But we didn't know when they were coming. He then starts cursing and yelling at our maintenance staff claiming that we "are wasting his f--- time" and that we don't know who we are messing with! We will never use City Fare ever again because of this employee who threatened our maintenance staff, just because we didn't have the dishes ready, when he finally arrived, that should have never been left behind overnight in the place. read more
