Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Fool me THREE times!! I must be an idiot for giving you another chance to redeem yourselves. Let me tell you the whole experience in its entirety as I would've been the most easiest customer they could have ever had if all things went well as they are supposed to when someone is doing regular maintenance on your vehicle. The first oil change went great. My first one I got synthetic oil and a full service maintenance. The 2nd one I wanted synthetic but they forgot to ask and put regular oil in... not a super huge deal I guess... just had to come back earlier for my next service. By my third visit, they forgot to reset the mileage in the computer and put the # on the corner sticker. Not a big deal again... as I was able to adjust those numbers myself. Also at this visit, I did witness Marlon yelling at his staff over a car that was brought back, but that was a janky car anyways. The following visit is when a bigger problem happened. I usually just drop my car and come back. So after the guys did the oil change, Marlon went in to check the work. My car is a push start button, so he left it powered on and I didn't come back to pick up up until maybe 3 hours later as I was at a meeting. When I came to pick up the car, it was dead. They jumped me and he apologized for doing that but that my battery was gonna be in critical condition now because of it.. but that it would have a year of life left in it though since that's the general battery life anyways. I drove home... then when I had to leave again, it was dead. Marlon came over to jump the car. Things went well for maybe a month and a half and it died on me again and this time completely!! There was no reviving it.. I tried once and knew it would be pointless to try but tried again for 45 mins. Disturbing my neighbors by trying to juice up the battery by holding the gas down. I called Marlon and he left me hanging if time!! All I needed from him was to bring me a battery and install it. I was going to pay for the battery. It's not like I wanted it for free! I ended up ubering to autozone and back then changed it myself. But the battery is HEAVY as hell!!!! My last time, I don't know why I went back... it's mainly the convenience because they are only 2 blocks away and I can drop off the cars. I took my car there for a basic oil change on Saturday. By Tuesday, the oil light came on!! I pulled over, opened the hood of the car and checked the dip stick. It was dry! I checked it 5 more times and it was dryyyyyy!!! I look under my car and there was oil everywhere!! To make matters worse... i forgot my house keys at my job that's an hour away!! I had groceries in my car so I prayed that my car would at least make it to my parents house... NOPE!! It nearly died on 7th street and I had my 2 children in the car. I had to walk them to my parents am drop off the car. I paid the hotel $20 to not tow my car as I had to leave it there overnight. And I had to borrow a car so I could be able to get to the office and grab my house keys. I didn't get home until 10pm! The next day I went over and told them the car was dead at a random motel. They did what I expected them to do... tow the car on their dime, replace the oil, check if any serious damage was on the engine, clean off the engine and provide me a refund. But at the end of the day.... I will not be coming here and I'm sorry Marlon, for not reconsidering writing this review. You have cost me more money than the refund covers and endangered my children. Additionally, there's another review already that talks about their oil cap/plug whatever it is not being on tight enough and when I told my sister what happened, she said the same thing happened to her and that it was at this location. Marlon does seem willing to improve from their mistakes and I hope this doesn't happen to any other person. They have decent customer service but unreliable consistency on making sure they cross all their T's and dot their I's. Came here to get my TRD springs installed on my 2017 Toyota 86, formerly known as a Scion FR-S. Looks great, dropped it exactly as I expected and the price was great as they charged me over less than half what the dealer said. The difference here between other places I've been to however is their customer service. Victor, Kaya and Marlon were all extremely polite and respectful and shown a genuine interest in my car. Having worked in the service industry a smile goes a long way and they definitely deliver. I'm here to update my review after my most recent experience with City Garage.. I arrived in the morning, and it was a slow day. Of course I assumed that it wouldn't take long since all I needed was an oil change, well of course I came back here because I had good service other times.. But this time, the service did not go well.. It was a slow day and I still had to wait a long time.. Marlon said it will take 15mins for my oil change. Then I noticed Marlon didn't had oil in stock for my car , "unexpectedly".. so he had to order some more and get it delivered, and I had to wait an extra 30mins plus.. Finally, I see my car getting worked on and one of the guys, a black man, I'm not sure what his name or ethnicity is but he was doing the oil change. Things were looking good so far, from what it seems, but the oil change cost me $70+ because it also included the oil filter. I tried paying with a debit card that day because I didn't have cash, and Marlon says he will charge me extra for not paying with cash. Like wow really Marlon? I thought we was cool man. And so I had to walk to the nearest atm to pull out cash.. ugh Anyway.. Later that same day, I took my car out for a drive on the freeway. After driving approximately 60mph, I heard loud noises coming from the bottom of my car.. I hear loud scraping sounds too. I was terrified for a moment. I didn't know where the noise was coming from until I pulled over and checked.. All along it was my skid plate that fell. It was scraped and damaged because it was missing a few bolts that the guy didn't screw in. Literally, my skid plate was just scraping the whole way while I'm driving.. I couldn't take it anymore, and so I had to drive to the nearest Jiffy Lube to adjust the skid plate and temporary fix it. Of course they told me that I needed to order a new plate because this one was 95% damaged. Now I have to spend even more money :( I did left a message for Marlon about this issue and he never responded back to me.. I brought my 2011 Toyota Camry to be serviced for transmission fluid, swap out spark plugs and air filter. About a year later I noticed my car was leaking and took it to another repair shop. Turns out the transmission pan is leaking which is considered rare for Toyota's to fail. They found out that these guys at City Garage replaced the transmission pan because there's silicon on this new one. Basically stealing an original part from my car...so shady. Also the air filter didn't get changed and there were old spark plugs left on my engine. Definitely would not recommend anyone coming here. read more

The owner, Marlon, was nice, friendly and was thorough with me in letting me know what should get done during a 90k tune up. While that was being done, he had his son inspect my car thoroughly. They then took me out to my car and showed me a few things about my car that I had no clue about. He explained a lot of things in detail, which I really appreciated. Knowing the price quote was high, he gave the option of doing little by little or getting it all done in one day. I decided to just jump the gun and get it all done. I returned 3 hours later to my car all fixed up and running smoother than I expected. He gave me a very itemized receipt of everything that was done and informed me when I should come back and what should be done when I do. I have been going to this place for oil changes for over a year. I brought couple of different cars over time. The quality of work for oil change is great because they take their time and that is reason why I like coming here. But today was the different story. I bought my Mobil-1 synthetic oil 6 quarts+ a K&N oil filter. All i ask for is labor and usually charge me a decent price. The mechanic name is Victor if I remeber it correctly, he did the oil change. After He was done with oil change for my car, I noticed he did not use 6 quarts that I provided to him. I asked the owner why he didnt used all 6 quarts. The answer I got was that's all that my car takes. I further explained the mechanic and the owner my predicament that my car always takes 6 quarts of oil. Mind you i have iver 50K on my car with 10+ oil changes. The mechanic insisted that oil levels is at a level where it suppose to be. But the oil level does not tell you anything. Conculsion: I have never seen this mechanic before so he must be new. He was not diligent to drain out all the used engine oil. Instead he cut corners and did a half ass oil changing job. As a result, old rusty oil got mixed with new oil which degrades the quality of the new oil. I may not look car savvy person but I do understand the basics of an engine. The car would have taken 6 quarts of oil if he had exercised due diligence. I felt like cheated because I have spent $ 40 bucks on oil and filter plus $15 on labor and probably another $40 to have redo the oil change plus labor and my time. I just hate when people try to cut corners on paid jobs. The owner should have talked to the mechanic on the side and offered a resolution to do whatever it takes to make it right, insteas d of oferring me a lame ass excuse. I hold the owner responsible for hiring an incomoetent mechanic. I have lost faith in you guys. I am out. Sunny read more

I called around looking for quotes on installing new rotors and this place seemed to be the cheapest with the best quality from Yelp. So I decided to swing by obviously. You can't miss this place. They have a huge welcoming billboard of a sign right off Cherry and 10th. Upon arriving there I was welcomed by the owner's son, Kaya. Told me where to park and helped me get started on replacing my rotors. They took me in immediately. My car was in the air in less than 5 minutes. Kaya is still learning, but he can do almost everything from the looks of it. He owns a Ford truck on air, and a S14 that'll be a drift missile. The owner, Marlon, is super friendly and nice. You could mistake the two guys as brothers! They got me a great price and were very helpful on explaining how it works along with what the outcomes could be, and how to proceed from there. While doing my brakes, I realized I only had half of the rotors that I needed and with my car in the air with the wheels off.. Kaya was super helpful in taking me home to grab the other half of my rotors and back. I really appreciated that! They're a super super nice family that does honest work. He even tried to help me get cheaper brand new tires than discount tires. They do it all here. From basic oil changes, all the way to welding chassis, turbo installs, custom piping, custom air suspension, you name it. Marlon was featured on the front cover of a magazine so he definitely stands by his work. So far, I trust them with my car. Now it's just for the test of time. I took my suv in for some wheel sounds and the owner was honest about the non-urgency of the situation, explaining it will eventually need to be addressed but with the holidays approaching, if I wanted to wait a couple months it would be fine. Which I decided to do and plan to go back as soon as I return from vacation. Then I asked them - after the free diagnostic - to change my oil, and they first looked at the oil then said "No, it doesn't need to be changed, its still new looking." Who says that! I had Marlon's son worked on my gt 16' for Eibach sport line spring installation. He originally quoted me $300, and when I visited he mentioned that it will be b/w 300-350 after checking with Marlon. I wish that he had checked with his father first over the phone. The installation itself was pretty nice. He had all placed on struts perfectly, but it took him about 3 hours to do all sides when he said it would only take 2 hours.
