Once we found a day that worked for both of us, they arrived on time and did the job. They cleaned up after themselves, and it passed the inspection easily. There was one miscommunication regarding an item listed on the estimate that was not included in the final project. It listed that the permit and inspection with LADBS was included, which was why I went with them, but afterward Vilyam said that was a mistake. I did not confirm it before they started the job, so I will take responsibility for that. It was easy to obtain the permit and inspection on my own, so it wasn't a big deal.

One couldn't come out for almost two weeks, one never responded, and one was Flash Gordon Electric. Lonny from Flash Gordon was able to come out the next day. He is very friendly and personable. He tested several outlets and wires including fixing a couple of weirdly wired outlets. He also replaced half a dozen of the old (pre-1990) outlets including a couple outlets that were original to the 1970s when room was added. It was affordable and done in under two hours. Would definitely recommend them for future work.

My wife asked for recommendations from our old neighbors and several recommended Burbank Electric. Wayne came to our house within a day or two and looked at the panel, but also walked around with me and talked about other things I wanted to do. I was clear that some things might be some time before we could do or some things were just early ideas at this point, but Wayne listened, took notes, explained a couple of ways. But it never felt rushed or like he was eager to make a sale or talk me into anything, it was just a conversation with a really pleasant guy who knew a thing or two about electrical systems. (He also said he knew a few people he'd recommend for some of the smaller work, people who could handle the smaller jobs at a lower rate and might be able to fit us into the schedule quicker.) A few days later, we had two quotes - one for the immediate work to replace the panel and a second for the "larger" future project. We confirmed we wanted to move forward on the immediate project. He estimated it would be about a days' worth of work and he had an opening in his schedule about a week later. We cleared space and prepared for a day without power, but he did the work in such a way that most of our house still had power almost the entire time. As predicted, it took most of the day to install and then at the end, he worked to help me figure out where all the circuits went. We will totally be calling Wayne and Burbank Electric for our future electrical work.

I think it's really a 2.5 Stars but I'm rounding up to 3 Stars…read more Cost: I needed to get a dedicated electrical circuit installed for an over the stove microwave. BK Electric came out within a few days to take a look and give an estimate. I had received a lot of estimates for this project and BK Electric was in the lower middle range of the prices I got. Scheduling: This was honestly a nightmare. After I signed the contract and put down a deposit they scheduled me on a day for the following week. This outlet installation was required to be completed prior to a Costco purchased microwave delivery and installation appointment. They cancelled on me and needed to reschedule 3 separate times. Each time I was only notified the day of the scheduled appointment. This caused the follow on Costco microwave installation appointment to need to be rescheduled each time. To be fair to the person in the office, Eli, it wasn't his fault and he was properly scheduling and doing his best to get the electricians out to do the job. It was the electrians who either were calling out that day or last minute going to "higher priority" job sites. However, for the BK Electric as a whole, this is pretty terrible customer service. Work: The quality of the work seemed good. Where and how the ran the line and the junction box with the outlet installation all seemed cleanly done. However, there was an issue where they did not install a GFCI outlet in the new location that required it. This delayed the microwave installation since the Costco installers refused to install without a GFCI outlet. I had to call BK Electric and have them come back and fix it.
