Solid food. I like it better for breakfast than for lunch. Both are fine but I like the little special differences ar breakfast like Canadian bacon as a side and being able to get both apple and cranberry juice. You'd be surprised how many places just have orange and tomato. I like scrambles and omelettes a lot. Good veggies and meats in them too. I ask for crispy hash browns and my bacon to be crisp but not burnt and they manage my diva ways nicely. Dine in is just ok. I usually take out. They pack up nicely. Big portions. Secure boxes. The first thing to know is I have been going here since it was a Big Boy restaurant. I go here often for breakfast and have my very own booth. Lol. They usually recognize me when I walk in and know where I go and sit in the corner, just like my days in school. They bring me my coffee and promptly take my order. The service is always very good and very friendly. If you need to know anything about Michigan football, just ask James, he keeps up on all the thing's going on at the U. As far as the food goes, it's always fresh and a lot of it. I've never left there feeling hungry. There's plenty of parking, and the restaurant is clean. Then I had the veggie scramble and added cut up sausage and bacon FTW. Blasphemy for the vegetarians. Screw them. I want dead meat! For breakfast, I enjoy the different scrambles and skillet dishes, or a veggie omlette with bacon crumbles. The traditional American breakfast of two eggs, meat, or potato is a strong choice. We have been coming to City Limits Diner for many years. It is now our 'go-to' for breakfast. The waffles are really good but the king of breakfast here is the skillet! You get a big plate of potatoes mixed up with assorted other ingredients (depending on which skillet you ordered) plus 2 eggs. Plus 2 slices of toast (yes, they have wheat and raisin!) or 2 pancakes! You won't be hungry for a while. Service is always friendly and they treat you like family. This place is hoppin in the mornings on the weekend so if you are a late riser, you won't have much wait. My 92 year old dad's favorite restaurant!! The food is great and they treat you like family! Never had a bad meal there! Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Eaten there hundreds of times! Roxy, James and the rest of the crew will all make sure that not only your food and service is great, but that your whole day is great!! They love their customers!! Not only do you get a smile, but if you are a regular you get hugs and kisses too! Large portions, kid friendly, old people friendly, tastes great! Opens early (not sure of time) and closes at 3pm. My wife and I just had lunch there today and I have to say it was fantastic we had a truly rub in and fries both we prepared perfectly. The turkey was not some cheap stuff you buy off the shelf very tender and sliced just right and the fries were cooked just right crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Great breakfast place. The omelettes (especially the Greek) have great flavor, and large enough to feed a small fighting force. The French toast has good flavor, not soggy, not burnt. The eggs Benedict was good, but not great. As for lunches, the gyro's are good, but the bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel bun is top notch. I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch. Just an ordinary little diner where you can get all the American staples, and a few surprises, like the chicken quesadilla. Should have ordered that today, but I went with a chicken salad sandwich. Decent-sized portions. Decent prices, too. If you order from the specials list, a sandwich, fries or onion rings + side salad or soup will set you back $6. They are NOT open for dinner. Only breakfast and lunch. This is the kind of place where everybody waves to each other when someone they know shows up. Saline is a small town, and you get to know folks here. An update: I went back about a week later and tried the chicken quesadilla lunch special. Bland! But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'll stick with the stuff they do best -- regular, "American diner" sandwiches. Maybe next time, I'll get the gyro sandwich. The young ladies that work here as wait staff are real sweet on one of our neighbors, who is a regular. They fuss over this old guy like you wouldn't believe. The food is typical diner food, and it's near my folks, so we popped in for breakfast. The omelettes are huge! Everything tasted fresh and there are many, many options for any breakfast item you want. I have to mention the staff here. So friendly, filling up coffee, cracking jokes with my Dad, and I saw a waitress sitting in a booth, helping an elderly patron fill out some forms regarding transportation around town. The food was delicious: a breakfast special Garden veggie scramble, with crisp fried potatoes and two pancakes. The price was very reasonable. The serving was generous enough to leave enough for takeout for another meal. The space was well-lit and it was easy to carry on a conversation. I will be coming here again. Next time, I will order the same, and save the pancakes, as the one I brought home was superb warmed in the oven until the edges were all crispy, and served with real maple syrup and butter! I had never tried this restaurant before but I really wanted breakfast and gave it a try.. first I called to see if they were open (COVID-19), I spoke to a lady who took my order and answered my questions. She was very polite and helpful!! When I got my food I was extremely impressed. It was really very good and reasonably priced. We loved our brunch here today. We were greeted and say promptly with a smile, and the host took and delivered our drink orders as well. It was a busy Sunday morning, but our server was friendly and prompt. The portions were large and the food was really good. The kids loved their chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and sausage. My omelet with jalapeños, tomatoes and avocado was even better than I expected: spicy, cheesy and huge! Ditto on my husband's entree. Quick confession: I have only ever been here hungover and starving for breakfast. With that being said, the food is always delicious. Sausage is a little weird, but I'm not mad at it. Really enjoyed breakfast here. My husband and I moved to Saline a few years ago and this was our first time in. He had french toast and I had an omlette. It came with fresh fruit and raisin toast and everything tasted great. Great gyro omelette! They are true angels with excellent service and attention to detail. They messed up one of my orders but got it right the next time, and also got it right another time I came in, but I forgave them and enjoyed the atmosphere. There is a classic Americana feel here in this small diner, and I personally love it. They have big portions which are appropriate for what you pay.
