The lady who did my nails was really rude because I didn't wanna pay more for a manicure with more options. No. First of all, their tools did not come out from the sanitized baggie. I got my toes done and the lady rinsed the tools in the tub water and put them back for the next customer. As personal care businesses were allowed to be reopen, my go-to nail salon was backed up for weeks and I was unable to get an appointment. I felt really bad straying off to another spot, but I had upcoming plans to clean up for. I found City Nails and Spa on Yelp. I called in and I was able to get an appointment after work. Covid Safety Precautions - Please wear a facemask to enter. Staff will take your temperature to ensure that you are not at risk of having a Covid Fever, and ask you to go wash your hands. There is plexi glass at the manicure and pedicure stations. Staff is wearing face mask and gloves. They even have face shields. Customers are seated at every other station. I felt very safe with their adjustments to the new normal. I had my Fresh Orange Peel Pedicure ($35) with Leanne and a Gel Manicure ($30) with Xuan. Both ladies were super friendly and fun to talk to. I fell in love with this Cre8tion gel polish for my gel mani and Leanne miraculously grabbed 2 different regular polish and layered it to give me a perfect match. She is awesome! The Fresh Orange Peel Pedicure was definitely a splurge from your default pedicure but I really needed some extra pampering after the stay home orders and nail salons being out of business. It includes your typical nail cut, shaping and cuticle trimming. In additional, it had the callous remover, cleanser sea salt scrubs, fresh orange massage and 6 minute hot lotion massage hot towel and polish. Woo hoo! My only comment would be I wish the massage part would be longer for the price range. Great experience here at City Nails and Spa! A place where everything is chaotic! This is first I experienced such unprofessional nail technician. He been rude and used old filer on my nail!!! Is this even possible to pass health inspection? This review is long overdue. I've been coming to city nails since 2018, specifically to get dip manicures with James. Reasonable prices, they give you a 2-week guarantee if something is not done right, and more than that...they're fast..well, James is fast. I've gotten dip manis at many other places before and would sit for 1 hour to 1.5 hours...James can get it done 20 minutes. Also, a lot of times, dip manis come out really "thick" and laid with way too many layers, giving that very "fake", "cheap" look. Many have thought mine were press-on gel. It took me years to write this review because the selfish part of me realizes then that more people will start going in..which means, fewer available appointments for me. :) Thanks James for giving me something nice to look at when I'm having a bad day. He wanted just a clean up to his nails and cuticles, and I wanted a tropical gel look for our upcoming Hawaii vacation. I ended up getting a cat eye turquoise mani and a sparkly pedi. I originally was going to just get a sparkly coat, but my nail artist suggested putting a fun teal layer under. It came out great! Honestly... my gf and I came here bc everywhere else around the local area was booked and they had 4 stars on Yelp so I was like let's give it a try. My mistake was not actually reading the bad reviews before going in AND the fact that they weren't booked should have also been a sign. Called around 1:40pm asking for 2 manis and pedis. They said to show up in 30 minutes so I was like great! We show up and quickly get seated. I had Leanne and my gf had James. As she starts on my pedicure she asks which one I want so I said the classic. Almost immediately she tries to upsell me for the signature and I was like no I'm okay, thank you. She continues on and recommends I do the callous remover which was $5 more so I'm like fine. While this is happening James begins on my gf's pedi. It looked like he was in a rush to finish although he had just sat down. All this to say that, James was done with both the mani and pedi before Leanne even finished my toes. The paint job was terrible, nicked her, he didn't even say one word to her. For a job that requires customer service needless to say there was none provided. Made an appointment for 2 pedicures through here on Yelp, and the owner replied extremely quickly which I was impressed by. Upon arriving, my friend and I were choosing a color, still audibly talking about it, and one of the ladies came up to us asking if we were ready a few times, making us feel extremely rushed even though we had only been choosing for 1-2 minutes. We both decided on the $32 deluxe pedicure. After only ~35-40 minutes and a very quick massage, it was over. Not sure how this was any different from the base $25 except for the callus remover (which she barely scrubbed). I was also disappointed that she missed painting the sides on both big toes, and one big toe had the polish very messed up (I realized this immediately, it's not like I went home and messed it up myself). Another nail was half-clipped and had a chunk out of it. $40 later including tip, I was extremely disappointed. I will be going to a similarly priced salon closer to me that I know gives longer and extremely thorough pedicures. If you are look for cheap and fast, this is the place to go. My normal salon was booked & I was in a rush to get my nails done before the weekend. Paid $35 for a fill & it only took about 45 minutes. You get what you pay for though. The person doing my nails were SO rough. I winced every 5 minutes, but they didn't seem to care. My pinky was bleeding & raw from the filing of my skin instead of my nail & from drilling onto my skin. Also, when drilling where my nails had grown out before adding more of the powder, they used a really rough, really fast drill on my nail bed. It hurt so bad, & that was enough to make me not want to come back. I just know my nail bed will be really damaged once I take off the acrylic. The manicure itself however, was fine & fast. They only did one coat of the polish & at the top it's a little light so there are some holes if you hold it up to the sun. The shape was perfect though. There was also some lifting in between my real nail & where the acrylic was. They didn't care to fill it in because they didn't want to do the work. They just ignored it & added on the acrylic where it needed to be filled on my nail bed. A good nail salon would have made the effort to fill in where the nails were lifting. As far as cleanliness, nothing was new or looked like it had been cleaned recently. The place was kind of all over the place, but there was a screen in between the nail tech & the customer. Overall, the manicure came out looking fine. However the process was rushed. They didn't care about being gentle, just wanted to do my nails quickly & move onto the next. read more

With plenty of nail salons in the area, it can be overwhelming when choosing a nail salon you want to regularly visit. I found City Nails and Spa on Yelp and have been going ever since. I usually get pedicures with my friends (usually 4-6 of us) and they have always been able to take reservations in advance. When we arrive, they are ready for us and we have never had to wait. The salon is really clean and they're following Covid guidelines by have a plexiglass partition between you and the nail technician and they all wear masks. I usually treat myself to the orange peel pedicure. It includes a nice lengthy massage and they use real orange slices to exfoliate and moisturize your legs/feet. It smells so good and feels even better (although I always crave a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice after). If you're in need of a pedicure or manicure, I would definitely recommend checking them out. We were pampered 100% and enjoyed our massaging chairs, as well as our massages in general. I wish I could give this place no star because that's how disappointed I am about my experience. I don't remember my nail technician's name, but she cut both my pinkies when she was shaping my nails. My left thumb started bleeding almost immediately after I left the place so I assumed that was a cut too. I got gel manicure and they are supposed to last for a very long time (right?), but one by one they started to come off ENTIRELY. By entirely I mean not just the top part, but the entire thing came off almost as if I never got gel manicure. And let me be clear I am not even doing anything that could damage my nails a lot because I was hoping they would last a while.
