I tell her "no, I walked in at 4:05" but she won't budge and according to her because my service takes 15 minutes the waxer won't have enough time to complete it. Someone else had brought up their grace period & being 6 minutes late but walking in at the 5 minute mark. Well, I had a similar experience today! Honestly don't know why you would go here. There are way better priced waxing studios all around Irvine and OC to go to. They have nice people and good service so why would you pay so much more here? Arrived to my 8:30am appointment 10 mins early this morning. As I am stepping out of my car I get a text that says my reservation was cancelled due to the wax specialist's availability. I walk in to speak with the receptionist to see what was going on. She was very cut and dry, yeah sorry 'bout that, it is what it is. Initially, she told me the wax specialist was running late, after she claimed the wax specialist called out of work. Which is it? Reason doesn't really matter, but maybe try notifying people with more than ten minutes in advance so they don't WASTE THEIR TIME driving over there. Totally got ripped off by the unlimited brows pass. Don't go here; you'll end up eating the cost. I would schedule out 1-2 weeks and the day before, or the day of, I would get a call saying my waxer didn't show up, so they needed to reschedule me. ... After the first time.. they said their next available appointment is one week out.. fine. Whatever. I take it. Comes time for my appointment and I get ANOTHER CALL saying they need to reschedule. At this point, I've lost about a month worth of my pass because I couldn't even be seen. So not only do I spend money on the unlimited pass, but then I have to go and pay $25 somewhere else to get my brows done. The next appointment I made, I also asked if my membership could be extended since I have probably been cancelled on 3-4 times, and I think I've gone in 4 times? They literally cancelled my appointments ~50% of the time!!!!! Anyways, the woman said she'd reach out to corporate or whatever to approve an extensions and that I would get a call back.. nope. Nothing. No call. No email. Nada. I get seen one more time... All is whatever. That brings me to now, where I've been cancelled on.. AGAIN-- and I've given European Wax Center a chance to fix the issue after speaking with the manager, Brandy, on Nov 1st, who said she would follow up with a mutually beneficial solution shortly (she said by the end of the week). It is now Monday, Nov 8th and I still have not received any follow up. This is a total rip off. Consumer reports, BBB, Facebook, google and Yelp will be my route for a solution I guess. Since I've been burned so bad I feel like it is my moral obligation to warn consumers about the experience I had here. I'd rather go to a nail salon. read more

I have went to other EWC locations but this visit was terrible. I had Celeste as a technician, and to say she was straight up just mean and rude is NOT enough. To start, she made snarky comments throughout the visit to point out the amount of hair on my arms and the thickness. She was there to get the job done, and her lack of attention to detail really showed through. Since it's summer, I went in with a little sweat which prevented the wax from sticking to my fingers. HOWEVER, she quickly got frustrated since the wax wouldn't get the hair and began ripping the hair out with her fingers. She then got frustrated and left my knuckles as is without saying anything. Celeste also paid no attention to my skin which was breaking out in hives the whole appointment. I noticed when I left the room that my skin was under such bad reaction. If you book here, AVOID her. This review is specifically for EWC on Barranca, Irvine. I've bought "multiple passes" for years, still have some credits (which I won't use) & had no negative issues until recently - thus the 2 stars. 09/23/22, Brazilian, the wax was terribly HOT which I immediately told the specialist but injury had already occurred. Redness, blisters & extreme soreness lasted two + weeks, forcing cancellation of some planned activities - even walking was a challenge. In retrospect I should have sought medical help but instead treated the injury with OTC meds & home remedies. My next Brazilian was 11/29/22. I was apprehensive & told Patty about my previous experience; she assured me there would be no repeat & there wasn't. She was great. Then 04/03/23 I had a similar experience to 09/23/22 - the wax was much too hot again! Thankfully this time there were no blisters but I was shocked to see blood (due to removal of SKIN) for the first time ever, on the paper covering the table, which was quickly gathered & trashed. You can imagine how red & sore my skin was as a result. Also the staff is ever changing unlike when I began going to EWC 10 years or so ago; however, that is irrelevant to me because I won't return to any EWC. FYI - I did contact EWC Corporate: The first time was 04/08/23 & several subsequent dates each in writing. The response each time was my issue had been referred to "upper management" and as they've never responded, I'm commenting publicly. read more
