After leaving my review regarding a misogynistic bartender who called me a bitch, the owner of slickers literally found my Instagram account and proceeded to harass me through my DM's. Michelle then went on to message my friends and ask how they know of me. I totally get that there was a misunderstanding between me and the bartender (and I can take accountability for offending him in any way), but the owners actions to gaslight me and then stalk me on social media is completely bizarre and concerning behavior. Just proves how little respect they have for customers trying to support local business. The owner is literally insane and will not stop replying to me via Yelp, even weeks after the incident has occurred. She also admits to messaging me on IG, then denies "engaging" with me which doesn't even make sense. Again Michelle, you were not there to witness Anthony's behavior yet you're allowing customers to be treated horribly despite footage of him yelling at me. The other barback who was vaping behind the bar obviously is going to take her coworker's side. And please don't message my friends, that is so weird. I am not homophobic, I just asked such a simple fucking question. It was not intended to be rude. Yes I came here in October and ignored the horrible customer service so I gave your bar more chances, but you and your staff are all nuts and treat your customers terribly. I have been coming to this bar since they opened. I have had all good experiences there. The drinks are priced very reasonable There is a deck outside which has a beautiful view. Situated in Old Town Folsom and easy to get to with plenty of parking. The employees are very personable and take care of you right away. I have taken my friends there and they also enjoy the bar. The décor is really nice with pictures of Old Town and more on the tables with resin or epoxy covering them and the bar top is beautiful with a blue like river going all the way around and covered in resin too. They have spent a lot of time making the inside look and feel historic. The bar is kept very clean including the bathrooms. I would recommend this place to everyone that likes a good time. I have read some of the reviews and don't understand the bad comments at all. Doesn't sound like Slickers. I have also met the owner Dusty and watch him go around and talk to the patrons and welcome them and thank them for coming. They take pride in their business and are not stuck up at all. Stumbled upon this spot by 100% accident. We got lunch at Karen's bakery & we saw people outside cleaning the patio. Came to find out on our way back from the river it was the owners and their 2 sons. We came in later that night. The bartender Anthony was the cutest thing I'd ever seen! He is hilarious, friendly, and made me the best raspberry lemon drop I'd ever had!!! They also have slushee margaritas and a drink their manager created called a "cobra" which they also make as a shot! The menu isn't as vast as I'd like but it checks all the boxes. Vegan/vegetarian/bar food/sammiches. The cook was very young... when he served I asked Anthony how can such a you g kid be working here.?? He was the owners thirteen yr old son! How awesome!! We came here Friday night but due to covid rules they were closed at midnight. They had informed us of all the rules and invited us back for Saturday. We came back and had skiplonis calzone (we shared as it's huge) now we are going to Skipolini this week when my brother comes into town. Matt was working he was A BIG MAN! He had a fun sense of humor and his co workers and he were hilarious. All staff had masks on, except one lady & she stated she was medical& gave some details so we felt very secure in her reasons. We came back in Sunday afternoon while our bike was being fixed at mikes bikes which is next door. Megan was working and she had been the other bartender on Saturday night. A totally convenient location off of Sutter St and the view from the deck is absolutely amazing! I came in with a couple of girlfriends and Derek was our bartender for the night. So personable, hilarious!!, and was very attentive the entire time we were there. He interacted with everyone at the bar and seemed to know his regulars very well. It shows that he has been in the business for quite some time as his drinks were so!! delicious! Absolutely great service, I would definitely recommend more of my friends to visit this bar on his shifts. I did not give this bar 5 stars because their bar menu is very limited to only pizza, wings, a pretzel, and dessert. When we stayed at the lake natoma inn we went to hacienda... when they closed a server suggested Folsom State Slickers. Boy are we glad!! Such a family type atmosphere!! Brad and railey or Bailey were working, they were quick considering how busy it was. We got wings and a pretzel with 2 Moscow mules. Which were divine!!! Lots of local beers on tap. Large variety of liquor, decent but small menu. We came back Sunday to a lovely lady Megan... she's worked with the family for a long time. She was on it! Love the staff and service! Drinks are great and food was hot and out quickly. Plenty of outdoor seating, they have an outdoor A/C and some portable misters to keep you cool. You should try them out!! We love this bar... we have been here about 6 times. The beer selection changes often which is cool. Fort Rock is our favorite local brewery, we go there a million times a week! Foggy Goggles is my beer of choice :-) The staff is serious about masks... and they always have on a mask. Some kitchen staff wears gloves some don't. Bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen in a bar. Shelby is my favorite and Brad is cool. Megan is hilarious. Anthony is my 2nd favorite. Taking a star off location, I prefer the old one. Slickers is a good bar ran by good people (Dusty is the best). The prices and the food and the staff are all amazing. Tristan in the kitchen is especially great, he's sweet and caring and the hardest worker I've ever met. Alycia leaves a lot to be desired. The staff doesn't believe in hand to hand combat so don't believe the other reviewers. Michelle, one of the owners is very sweet and accommodating and has given me free drinks on occasion (even though she isn't the best cook). I played a tenacious d song, all in good fun for st patties day, as my partner and I were discussing it on the walk there. Played it off the TouchTunes app on my phone so I had no idea of the ridiculous rule that "metal music will be skipped". The owner I'm assuming came out and made a childish announcement before skipping my song that has literally no curse words or anything bad in it. It's a funny song called "The Metal" by Tenacious D. This is the most amazing family owned business in Folsom. You ALWAYS feel welcomed and the staff is amazing. They will accommodate any size party with open arms.
