Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with one of the bartenders last night. I came in with seven friends. While ordering several drinks, the bartender was condensending and rudely commenting on my perscription eye glasses and the shirt I was wearing. Strange, I just brushed it off and kept ordering the drinks. As I continued with the order, I repeated a few drinks to make sure he heard them correctly as the environment was normally a little loud. He looks a me and states "I heard you, I'm from the United States", then proceeds to ask me where am I from. Double strange, again I just ignored him thinking he was have a bad day. Then when trying to order an expresso martini for two lady friends, he abruptly says "we dont make those drinks here". Triple strange, because we have ordered those drinks before with no issue. And finally, when the night came to an end, I asked for my credit card back to close out our tab. He states that he had already closed our tab and gave it back to me. When I asked him to please double check because I surely did not have it in my possession, he literally went berserk and started screaming at me at the top of his lungs "if you lost your credit card, then that is your f......... fault" (actually had a few more curse words that I cant remember). I was shockedand embarassed as this happened right in front of employees and many customers. The two other bartendars were fine and one of them even apologized to me for interaction, I appreciated it. The second bartender even looked for my card and couldn't find it either. Needless to say, I had to close that credit card account and order a new card. I am usually a positive indivual, so I am going to chalk this one up as one bad night, it happens. On the brighter side, the bar had plenty of seating for my friends and the prices are very reasonable. read more

The bartender harassed my girlfriend and her friends by accusing them of being underage, despite already checking their ID's, giving them wristbands, and serving them. She poured their drinks out, cursed at them and then called the police upon refusing to give their real California ID's back. The security even told them that they are real and that they scan, and she grabbed them back out of his hands. The owners husband and also a group of men that claimed to be "related" also pushed them out and got in their faces and that makes me so mad. This place needs to get shutdown read more

DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give this bar 0 stars I would. AWFUL SERVICE. The woman scanning ID's told my 22 yr old friend that they can't serve her because of her out of state Washington ID. My friend proceeded to pull out other forms of identification to prove that she is of age and the employee refused and said they don't have to serve her (understandable it's the bar rules). My friend tried to have a polite conversation with the employee about it but instead of hearing us out she decided to insult my friends physical appearance. She then smacked our other friend's drink out of her hand for standing in the doorway with it being "too full". After that she proceeded to insult us and then wanted to fight a couple of our girl friends. If I'm not mistaken regulars at the bar said she's the owner's daughter. Regardless of who you are that is not how you treat customers and you should learn what a real ID looks like before working at a bar. I'll make sure to tell anyone that asks not to come to this shit show. read more

I drove 35 minutes from sacramento, waited in line for another 30 on a saturday evening with my friends (to meet more friends already inside) and they would not let me in because of my out of state license. I am almost 23 years old and invested about 2 hours (driving home) to get into a bar that simply rejected my very REAL Oregon ID. I offered to call the cops to have them come check it and also asked to speak to the manager - to which the girl checking ID's informed me they can reject whoever they want with no questions asked. After forcing me to leave I called the manager who told me to come back on a weekday to speak to the owner. I informed her i've been to this bar many times before and this has never happened and I am 22. Coming back on a weekday didn't solve my problem of buying an uber to and from this bar, and took the whole night from me and my friends after planning on going here since the previous week. Very disappointed in the customer service. I guess I will never go back as it will risk the chance of my Oregon ID ruining my night. read more

I hope that no one comes to this bar after looking at these reviews. Me & my friend were also harassed by the staff at this bar. It was a male bartender along with a male busser but I did not get their names. This place has very weird vibes and I tell everyone I know not to go there. After being extremely weird about my valid California ID, they accused us of stealing a drink because my friend walked out with a cup of water... that we got from the jug that's placed right next to the exit. We even told him it was water & they made him show them the empty cup in the garbage can. I can't believe how rude they were & because of that they will never see me or anyone I know giving them business. read more

I just started going to "City Slickers" and without a doubt this will be one of the premier establishments in FOLSOM. I can't wait till the weather turns warm and everyone can take advantage of the outside decking. The bartenders are great to interact with and the service is over the top. I've only tried a few food items but they were delicious. TINA who just started working there is a great addition to the work force because she has such a great personality. Taking a star off location, I prefer the old one. Slickers is a good bar ran by good people (Dusty is the best). The prices and the food and the staff are all amazing. Tristan in the kitchen is especially great, he's sweet and caring and the hardest worker I've ever met. Alycia leaves a lot to be desired. The staff doesn't believe in hand to hand combat so don't believe the other reviewers. Michelle, one of the owners is very sweet and accommodating and has given me free drinks on occasion (even though she isn't the best cook). Slickers is a must visit if you're ever looking to get a good drink with a great vibe. read more

Lame place really, prices were a little overkill. Also they charge 2 dollars for a mask, and then tell you if you don't have one that you can't place an order at the bar. How nice of them for them to try to profit off of people's fears, and because of this I watched someone who needed a mask to go place an order find one off the ground that was disgusting just to wear it so he could place an order... You guys are really doing a number for people's health out there thank goodness for you. read more

I love what the owners have done with this bar. It is very open and still feels like a family owned business. The staff is amazing and attentive, not to mention that they have the best prices around. I have gone to slickers frequently over the last year and have usually loved the atmosphere and people. I think the place itself as a whole is great, unfortunately I was treated with unnecessary aggression during my last visit. During last call one of the employees went around the bar screaming in mine and others around me faces to "hurry up and chug their fucking drinks" as well as threatened me saying "if you don't chug your drink right now I am going to take it from you". I was extremely taken off guard and offended that this behavior was happening. As I went to take a drink of my drink that was full, the same employee came up to me and grabbed my hand with my drink in it and tore my drink from my hand before putting it behind the bar. Not only was it unprofessional, it was extremely inappropriate for him to be putting his hands on me, a young female. When I turned to the bartender and asked for the drink I paid for back, after having it ripped out of my hand, she tried to tell me that she could not pour me another drink, when alls I was asking for was the drink I had already paid for. I will never be returning to this bar, which is unfortunate because it used to be my favorite place in Folsom. I hope they can train their employees to treat not only women, but all customers, with respect. read more

A group of 15 of us tried to celebrate our friends 50th Birthday here last night and I waited appx. 10 min to get a drink and watch the bleach blond bartender serve people that came to the bar after me & the gentleman next to me who was not part of our party said to me " good luck trying to get a drink from her as she's horrible " so then I said to the bartender " hey why are serving other people that have come up after me & she rudely , sarcastically said "what do u want since your so polite "so then I asked for the manger whom was a joke as well!. I will say the bouncer was polite n handled things professionally but can't say the same for the other two! Glad we all left and went to Folsom hotel n spent our money there w no problems at the bar and it packed unlike this place . I will not be back and tell everyone don't go here . Thought we would try. Bartender (female) was outgoing, fun, personable and on point. Chef extended hours slightly for us to order before closing kitchen. Younger male bartender also efficient and friendly. In beginning, some obnoxious ass customers, obviously regulars, who screamed the entire timeworn talking to anyone. They were so wasted and loud it was annoying. We can get rowdy ourselves, this was BEYOND! However, once they left- headbanger music also stopped and rap and current music played which was awesome!
