Came here with my bestfriend. They have a sign that says they skip metal songs, but they skip any song that isn't their vibe. One guy who I assume is Bar back ( black beanie and a white tank top on) heard us singing a song. It was changed 20 seconds into the song. We were disappointed because it's one of our favorites, the guy next to us even made a comment about why they would change the song if people were vibing with it. The bar back then exclaimed right in front of us how that was much better. My bestfriend. Who payed to listen to the song said she disagreed. He walked to the back thinking we couldn't see him called her a bitch to the bar tender (he was great). After he talked to him the bartender reimbursed us for the credits we spent on the song. Well left shortly after to spend our money elsewhere. Bartender handled it great. Other guy could really use a course in customer service. read more

Gold Country Run and Sport (a run specialty store in EDH and Rocklin) loves City Slickers! I have been the operations manager for GCRS for the past two years and City Slickers has welcomed us for two "Pub Runs" during that time. They let us bring a bunch (about 30) runners to their bar and reserved us a spot on the patio and let us set up a tent as well! The staff was so friendly, made sure we had water at our tables, and even made a fun sign welcoming us to the bar. We gathered and went for a short run and when we got back all ordered drinks and food. The atmosphere is great for a run/post run hang and the bartenders were really nice. The food was great too! We had my daughters after wedding party there on October 5. Michelle the owner was fabulous. She reserved part of the bar and patio for only our wedding guests. She asked what the bride and grooms favorite drinks were. She went above and beyond to make everything so awesome. She even made a gift basket of goodies for the newlyweds. Wow. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BAR!!! Racist, aggressive, and rude staff. Reading previous comments I now know this this an ongoing problem? On Wednesday night I went in there with a friend, and I watched some crazy stuff unfold. I watched a group of about 8-10 young people (several of them people of color) come in, all were younger, maybe mid-twenties, and watched as the bartender in a gray and one in a neon green took away their ID and HASSLED them. I'm not entirely sure how it ended, we left not too long after- entirely disgusted. In retrospect, I probably should have said something to the bar. It was a blatant injustice. I wish I was able to leave zero stars because the service at this bar was absolutely HORRIFIC and INTOLERABLE. The bartender (white woman with brown hair) checked all of our ID's upon entry, and then came back around to give our group specifically 21+ wristbands to "avoid us from being carded again." We were the ONLY group given wristbands out of everyone also! If you're not white they have to make sure to keep an eye on you apparently! And then moments after, literally after ALREADY SERVING US DRINKS, she accused 2 of us WITH WRISTBANDS of having a fake ID DESPITE checking it 2 times over, TOOK them, and refused to give them back! She poured our drinks out all over the counter that we had ALREADY paid for, THAT SHE SERVED US! She was cussing at us, told us to "get the fuck out" and threw scissors at us! And then they called the police on us, in which the cops literally checked the "fAkE iDs" and LAUGHED, and told us to enjoy our night. This place is the WORST BAR I have EVER been to, and I would advise anyone planning to come here to read this and all of the other BAD experiences and seriously save their time and money! I see that this bartender has recurring anger issues and she should be fired for her inexcusable actions. But I don't think she will because the owners were backing her and the "owner's husband" or whatever he was, was getting in our faces and had other MEN inside the bar follow him out to yell and cuss at us! If I could give this bar zero stars, I would. Bad vibes as soon as I walked in- Sunday, October 29. 2023 (2:45PM) I could tell by the clientele, they were regulars and I was not in good company. Everyone calling one another by their first name which is nice but I could tell that nobody outside of their little drinking circle was welcome to the "club". All I kept hearing was " Rhonda!" " Rhonda!". Clearly a regular who was vaping and drinking at the bar. The bartender was extremely rude as well and would not assist me- I mean zero attempt and stared at me head to toe ( creeper chick vibe) I stood at the bar waiting for service but all she did was serve the loud patrons and ignore me. Clearly she saw me because she and another female bartender stared me down from the moment I walked in. The hate was real. I would've left a lot sooner however my friend and I had prior arrangements to meet since we've never visited this bar so I had to wait for her arrival. Parking extremely limited in front. Of course, when my friend arrived--same hate energy as she walked in too. Ridiculous! What's with the rudeness? Why the instant hate? Show manners and courtesy. Even the crowd was rude. Meh, this bar is not my jam. We ended up going to another Folsom bar where the bartender was friendly and approachable. My family and friends and I had a blast at Slickers on Thursday night. The staff and patrons were super cool and it made it easy for us to have a great time. We got drinks courtesy of bartender Brad- I've had a lot of drinks and these were good ones for sure. No sticker shock either. 5 drinks for my homies and I came out to about $25 (not well drinks, bottled and middle shelf/top shelf drinks). We played giant Jenga and sat outside; we were grateful for the space heaters. Ownership is killing it. I've worked in restaurants and restaurant management for years, and having a great bar experience during Covid was such a highlight of my visit to Folsom. Now I've got a new go-to when I'm in town. Bailey works there so I had to go check it out because she's the Draft Beer Queen of Folsom. Quickly found out that this is easily a home away from home. The owners go out of their way to treat their employees and regulars like family. The food is just as good as the location, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PRETZEL AND BEER CHEESE. BEEEER CHEEEESE . I always feel safe here because the security is on point. There are TV's and fire pits all over the balcony and they even have an outdoor air cooler for the hot days. Who even does that? Cool people, that's who . I'm trying to think of something they could improve on to give a fair review but the prices are modest, the view is excellent, the snacks are yummy, and all the staff are incredibly attractive so what else could a customer ask for? This bar is one of a kind! It's welcoming to people of all ages. The bartenders and staff are very kind, tentative and funny as hell! The food varies due to Slickers helping other business for example Skipolini's, which is AWESOME. And of course they have the typical bar food!
