I went today to get a pedicure at City Nail Spa and chose the "Jelly Pedicure" which is advertised as a 70 minute pedicure. It was very rushed and I was finished within 45 minutes. The pedicure felt very rushed and I feel I did not get my true money worth. read more

Let me think where to start. My nail tech of 10 years recently retired so I continued going to the salon. Unfortunately the service was not the same. My eyebrow threader told me to try City Spa Nails specifically Vu as she loved his work, attention to detail and perfectly shaped nails. I went to first try a gel manicure with Vu after texting an hour before. He was free to take me. He did my gel manicure so wonderfully. I told him I wanted to try the staff for pedicure with my husband because he comes with me monthly. I went back for my nails and toes and brought my hubby for his toes. We both loved the services and will come back. Tina did his pedicure and boy ole boy he hasn't had a pedicure in 2 months so you can imagine. I haven't had one in 5/6 weeks which I usually get one every 3 weeks. I was so impressed with my pedicure- the shaping the cuticles and the soles of my feet are so soft. Vu is bomb with my nails too. I found our new salon and will become a regular client. The salon is nice and clean everyone is friendly. You should try them too. Ask for Vu and tell him Krystall sent you! read more

I went to City Spa to get my nails done for my birthday and Anna gave me exactly what I wanted! I got a pedicure and manicure; came in with a picture and then changed my idea last minute and she still did it! The colors were perfect for my celebration! I will be coming back to her simply because of the time, care and attention she pays to getting every nail shaped and painted correctly. Horrible "service" and terrible nail-tech skills. They use minimal product to cut costs and corners! Lifting and falling off after a week, and if you like pedicures they are incapable of giving a quality pedicure. What a joke! If you go back to get it repaired for their screw up, they will charge you again!!!! Uncomfortable chairs and environment in general. RUDE!!!!! But then, will charge top dollar and want a fat tip! My friends and I went in today (Easter) and got our acrylics done. Everyone was so nice and did an amazing job on our nails. My nail tech did them exactly how I wanted and took her time. She asked after every step if i liked it to make sure they were how I wanted. My nails were $85 they took about 3 hours. read more

Wow, I just read the comment the owner made after I posted my review last year-- I received an email alerting me that my review had been read 40 times--that's the only reason I even looked at the Yelp Reviews. But, the owner's attitude in his response is no surprise, as that was his attitude in his salon. He suggested I stay home if I was scared, and said that people were seated 6 feet apart--that's not true. As far as me staying home, I am regular customer at Safety Nails in the Smart & Final Shopping Center on Elk Grove Blvd, where they not only practice safe protocols, it's the cleanest nail salon I have ever been in, they also have an excellent rhaport with the customers, and treat them as if they are of value to the establishment. City Spa Nails could take some lessons. read more

This place is horrible now. They have a lady who did my manicure. I told her to be gentle, but she was very rough and cut my skin on the sides and now my nails burn a lot today. I rather only do my nails very rarely in salons. Most places double charge like sparkles salon in elk grove; and act like they don't know English when you talk to them about bill overpayment after they talked in English the whole time during service. Their rude attitudes are ghetto as well. If you like rude and crude services go there. read more

I've gotten my nails done here 3 times. The first two times I was really happy. It was the main nail lady who did my nails (don't know her name but she has the first station). She did an amazing job both times. She took her time to work on the shape and also worked on my cuticles for a significant amount of time. The end result was amazing! My nail polish was applied perfectly and my cuticles looked nice and healthy! The third time I came here for a fill, I was taken in by a different older lady. She started working on my nails quickly which was great because I needed to be out in time. However, I was not too happy with the end result. My nails had gone from a square shape to a rounded shape. Also, some of my nails had air bubbles. To top of off, she made one of my cuticles bleed and after that she went on to fix the nail polish with acetone on my wound! Ouch! I will come back here but will go to my main lady. Update- Probably my last time here. I came in for a gel manicure. I was sat instantly as it was slow. The lady came and started working on my nails right away without changing the towel that's usually laid out that you put your arms out. That towel had somebody else's nail clippings on it! Gross! I had my arms propped up the whole time because I was so grossed out. Anyway, she did a fine job on my manicure. Nails looked fine. When she was done with my nails. They usually rub some lotion on your arms then bring a steaming towel and wipe with that. Well this lady just took some rag that was sitting out, she went to wet it in he sink and then brought it back to wipe my arms with it. Also, she didn't even use hot water, it was luke warm!!! Well what can I say don't go to this place they do a crappy job!!! I have been going here for a year now and today they just did such a shitty job the girl cut my nails too short and the paint job is crap. Good thing I chose glitter because that covered it up a little and then of course they don't except refunds so I didn't get my money back. But it doesn't matter who does your nails but lately they've been slacking and of course they just want my money!! Like for the money you pay for it's just not worth a tip!!! Amazing! Hands down. I've been getting my nails done for years and have been myriad places. This particular salon was recommended to me by a friend and we went together. That was by far the best experience at a nail salon I've ever had. The young guy that did my fill really took his time to shape and equal out my nails and make sure they were as close to perfect as possible. I will never go anywhere else. Decided to go to City Spa Nails because I was overdue in getting a pedicure. I greeted and asked what I wanted done today, said a pedicure and was told to pick a color. They had plenty to choose from and I picked about 4 shades of orange. They were already running the water in the tub and Anna was my tech. I use to live this place and I don't know what happened with the staff. I he a horrible experience back December because the lady couldn't figure out what filing square shaped was. She seriously didn't even try on my nails. I asked so many times for her to fixed then and she'd give attitude and start talking to her coworkers. My nails are literally crooked and you can see it!!! I asked her to fix it and she tried saying it was how my finger is and that it just because of my real nails. False. It's not the same since Lynn left. I had white gel manicure nails done and I love them. I genetically have round clubbing nails with dents and curves making it difficult to paint evenly. The place is nice and clean but pricey for what you get. I went in for a pedicure and it was pricey. The basic is $25. Paraffin wax $40 and up. Thats pricey considering other places do it all ( cut, polish, stones, wax, hot towel) for under $30 but $60 seems too much. Removal of polish $5. I wont be returning. It was nothing special not worth the money. read more

Either way, my mother enjoyed the shop and even upon leaving the guy at the register, welcomed us to come back by giving us a 10% off our next service coupon. I will say due to the friendly staff, the clean environment and all of the safety protocols that they take to make sure that you get a clean experience, I would definitely visit the shop again. When I sat down the women asked if I wanted gel and not having had that before I asked what that was compared to acrylic. Instead of explaining she got up and got the nails and began sizing them. I figured it was more or less the same since she didn't say anything else. I also assumed it was around the same price. Nope! Not only was this nothing like acrylic and what I believe not done well at all, it was triple what a full set might have cost. That was an absolute shock when I went to pay. I wasn't really happy with the quality of the work done once I got home and researched what a gel set was and supposed to look like and not to my surprise my concerns were valid. So I called and was asked to come back so they could make it right only to be told once there that this is normal and when my nails grow out the gap will close. She showed me her set and they were absolutely nothing like mine and honestly what I would have expected mine to look like and I said that to her and she told me it's because her nails have grown out and now the gap has closed. That logic isn't lining up for me and I didn't want to keep going round and round. I stated at least three times I didn't like it and it's not what I wanted, but she only said they could fix if a nail broke or came off. Now on vacation, I am having to scrap and dig sand, lotion and food out of the gap between each of my nail and the poorly applied fake nail that is way to big for my nail bed but was glued on anyway. My hair is getting stuck In between and pulling it out. It's like I have press on nails done by a toddler. Very frustrating to have paid so much and now having so many problems with them. This is so disgusting, I don't know why anyone would pay for this if this is the correct way to have them done.

The nail tech was so sweet to my daughter paying attention to the color of her dress, but also allowing her the freedom to choose a different French tip color (she didn't like the first color she picked). I can't recall nail techs name, but I remember it was Cindy but they called her something else since there are two Cindy's. The location offers complimentary beverages which is the best when getting a massage on the chair and a pedicure. When I go to a spa/nail salon I not only go for price and quality of work, but for the relaxing environment it provides me. The next day when I arrived, we were quickly ushered to sit in our chairs (for a pedicure) and even given water as we were able to enjoy the massage chairs. The staff doing our pedicures were very friendly and attentive to doing exactly what we requested. The aesthetics of this shop is very pleasing as the shop itself is clean, neat and orderly. They also have a myriad of options for nail polish colors. I ended up selecting a gel nail polish, which at the time of writing this review, a month later, is still intact on my toe nails. (I know - I need another pedicure soon. lol) I will say the price was a little bit costly compared to other places I have been, however, that may be because we selected one of the highest packages. Either way, my mother enjoyed the shop and even upon leaving the guy at the register, welcomed us to come back by giving us a 10% off our next service coupon. I will say due to the friendly staff, the clean environment and all of the safety protocols that they take to make sure that you get a clean experience, I would definitely visit the shop again. It's definitely worth the visit.

The staff was friendly and made sure I was comfortable throughout my service. My nail technician took their time, paid attention to detail, and listened to what I wanted. I was happy with how my nails turned out--they were neat, well-shaped, and exactly what I asked for. The pedicure was relaxing and well done, and the tools and stations appeared properly sanitized. While it can get busy at times, the service was efficient without feeling rushed. Overall, this is a solid neighborhood nail salon with reasonable prices and consistent work. Great Nail Salon! I am super weird about where I go. I hate trying new places, but when COVID first started mine shut down. Both my mom and I decided to try this place. BEST DECISION OF OUR LIVES. They are really clean! Prices concerned me at first, but not excessive. You get what you pay for. I have never been to a nail shop where you did not have to stay on alert and tell them what they need to fix. I have been here more times than I could count and I have never had to have them fix something. They have a sense of community here. Everyone is social and family oriented. When I first moved to Sacramento, I tried several nail salons, but I wasn't completely satisfied until I found City Spa Nails. **NEW MANAGEMENT** I absolutely loved my experience here! They are so kind, we came in right round 5pm on Sunday. We were unaware of the fact that they close at 5pm, but as we came in, we were welcomed without hesitation. Management stayed till 7pm to finish our nails. This is a new nail salon opened by a couple who have years in the business in Sacramento. It's clean and has wonderful equipment and all files are single-use for only one customer. First time it's a little tricky because it's in a small strip mall at Elk Grove-Florin Road and Bond Road behind a Wendy's in a center that's anchored by a Save-mart, but it's one of the nicest I've seen in more than 10 years in Sacramento! read more

I've been coming to get my nails done from Vu for about 3 years now, always doing my nails exactly how I want them and I never have any complaints! Even if I did, he's such an understanding person I'm sure he'd find a way to fix it! We were originally deciding between the Luxury ($40) or Deluxe Pedicure ($45) but the owner suggested we get the V.I.P. Pedicure ($50) and we loved it. They took their time with the massage and also massage your feet, not just your calves. Seems very clean as well, they wore gloves and opened new packs of everything to use while cleaning all materials used in between. We paid cash so it was only $100 for regular polish on both (assuming they don't tax when you pay cash) and we gave cash tips as well. I had a man help me, didn't get his name but the lady who helped my mom was Autumn and she was very nice and took extra care of my mom's needs. Overall, great experience and definitely recommend this place. I will be coming here all the time now.

I've never had acrylics, so granted, I wasn't exactly sure how to express what I wanted. But I said I wanted them to look natural & not too long. He suggested square so I agreed, but when he checked with me, I said I'd like it more rounded. He did a little, but not much. I also asked for ombré as the lady next to me had it done & it looked nice. I think he didn't want to actually try because while he did it, it didn't look nice and he let it stain all around my nail bed. I wound up filing them down at home to be more the shape I wanted. When they needed filled, I went elsewhere & they totally listened & did what I asked. Today, I came here again for a quick pedicure. I asked for the #2 because I have some calluses I need worked on. The girl I got today was half asleep. There was very little effort put in at all. She barely scrubbed my calluses at all. Then when she went to put oil on my feet, she squirted out a ton of nail polish remover directly into my foot & ankle. And she didn't even say anything or rinse it off. She just grabbed the oil and put it on top & rubbed it all in. That was the final thing that made me feel like I needed to write this review. I've come here because it's close to my home & it overall has good reviews, but neither of my experiences have been worth the money I've paid, I don't feel. So unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

But that's my personal preference/issue. It made me appreciate these workers more- since I worked in customer service for a long time, and I know how hard some comments/complaints can feel.
