I can't recommend this place enough! If you need to wind down and get some real, serious relaxing time, this is your place. I did a sauna cabin and facial with Maia. The facial was the best I've ever had - I have never been so relaxed and at peace. Maia is spectacular. I feel so refreshed and renewed. Cherry on top, the service is great. I originally ordered a sauna + massage online. When I went to book the appointment, I found out that their massage therapist was out until January, and the other location doesn't do massages on the weekends. They were quick to accommodate, offering to swap the massage with the facial (and I'm SO glad I did!). I was amazed at that service to ensure I could still come in and get my money's worth. City Sweats Wallingford is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood! I've always enjoyed the infrared sauna and massage treatments at the Madison Park location and now I can walk over whenever I want to unwind. The space itself is calming and relaxing. The cabins are good sized and immediately following your sweat you can enjoy the "beach" with sand beneath your toes (sandals provided if you are not in a sand in your toes mood). The staff greets you with a tonic and at the close of your service you get a personalized greeting and refreshment. I can't recommend this urban escape enough! read more

I booked an appointment (via ClassPass) and there seemed to be some sort of mix up: the app stated the class would take place at their Madrona location, while a confirmation email stated I was to go to the Wallingford location. So I showed up in Wallingford and was told my appointment was actually scheduled for their Madrona location. The employee checking me in at the front desk was quick to apologize and see if she couldn't fit me in right then and there. And she did! Note: I'm not someone who complains to or snaps at customer service folks, ever. And the fact that the employee was so kind without fear of me yelling or asking to speak to a manager speaks volumes about their customer service. On top of that, the service was fantastic. I opted for a Lymphatic Drainage session. If you're an anxious human being who lives the idea of weighted blankets, etc (like I do), you'll love this. It was a very relaxing 45 minutes having my limbs and torso squished while enjoying some Netflix binging. I will definitely be back! read more

Customer service was great and every clean, however disappointing in the infrared sauna experience. Unfortunately the sauna temp was only reaching a mild temp and with the hopes that it would process through the :45min to a higher level, I sat waiting and unfortunately never really got a "good sweat". When I shared my disappointment with the service staff they had nothing to offer. After sharing my unfortunate experience with the "feedback" email, I am still yet to receive any form of response, hence the mediocre review. Otherwise overall the place is pleasant. read more

DO NOT go here. They fraudently took money out of my account without my permission. I've only been here once. I called over 15 times to get my money refunded. I spoke to a girl Savannah twice who assured me my money was getting refunded. It's been 2 weeks and my bank hasn't seen a refund. Do Not trust them!! They take extra money out of your creditcard if one is on file. I still yet to receive a phone call. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and state attorney Generals office. I can't say enough good things about this place! It's simply a 5-star experience from start to finish. The environment is clean and relaxing, the cabins/rooms are amazing, and the meditation room to cap things off really rounds out the experience to a whole new level. Additionally, the staff makes you feel at home throughout the entire stay. Not only that, but the Infrared Therapy is incredibly good for detoxing the body! Cute, aesthetic wellness spot in Wallingford that is also very close to University District, so a quick trip for students. This was my first visit and I went with a couple of friends (one who was also going for the first time and another who had been here once last year) to try out the chromotherapy infrared sauna treatment. The staff was welcoming and helped one friend and I sign a waiver for first-time guests and we were offered tonic shots while waiting for our cabin to get set up. There were various options to choose from, but my first problem was that the employee didn't mention at all that they were not complimentary until we asked (and each shot is $3!). The saunas are located in their own small cabana-like spaces, complete with towels, a TV to watch Netflix, and a music system in the sauna to play your own music for the 45 minutes you're in there. They also give each guest a bottle of mineral water, which I recommend you drink while you're sweating out your body's water! However, we ran into a few complications like getting the speaker system to pair with our phone (our music started playing in the next room over and startled the other woman getting a massage.. sorry!) and figuring out how to change the lights in the room. Maybe the employee thought my friend had remembered everything she was told last year at her first visit? After getting all those problems settled, we enjoyed our 45 minutes sweating in places we've never sweat before. After the session is over, they set up a small area for you in their salt room to relax and unwind. Complimentary orange slices and hibiscus tea are set out, so enjoy those while digging your toes in the soft sand! Overall it was a very relaxing experience and a much-needed break from school, I would come again! read more

Overall, I suggest looking for a place that is less priced. While the saunas do indeed heat up tremendously it seems like the business doesn't keep up with their cleanliness. As a new client you would expect to have everything looking presentable but as soon as I entered the bathroom it looked like it wasn't routinley cleaned. I proceeded to the cabin where I ended up finding sweat marks on the glass next to the handle. I have heard of a COVID outbreak going around but was hoping they were being much cleaner. I'm not comfortable putting my name out here but I sure hope they do something about it before other people get grossed out. read more

I don't even know where to begin! I love everything about City Sweats, from the environment to the services. It is truly my favorite place to unwind in Seattle, with healing benefits that go far beyond a typical spa experience. I started going to City Sweats during a nutritional detox and the benefits were far-reaching. The aesthetic perks -- buh-bye water weight and bloat. Hello glowing skin (and I mean the type of glow that makes you look like you've been eating nothing but kale all your life). After my first session I noticed a deep sense of relaxation. I slept like a baby that night, and surprisingly -- my sleep patterns improved for weeks to come. As someone who has struggled with irregular sleep + insomnia for nearly a decade, I was so grateful for this shift! I continued using the lymphatic massage + infrared sauna and noticed significant improvements in my well-being, sleep quality, joint stiffness, skin, anxiety/depression (the light therapy is amazing) and energy. So much that I started recommending City Sweats to all of my nutrition + fitness clients. In my opinion the experience + environment makes it a must for newbies. If you've never been to a sauna spot before, City Sweats is the perfect entry because it is PRIVATE. You're not paying to sit in a room with other naked strangers, you're in a private room + private cabin. You get to control the light therapy, temperature, and vibe. To each their own, but I much prefer to sweat solo. :) I definitely notice that the private/upgraded experience = I am receiving the distraction free self-care time that I need. An hour at City Sweats is the equivalent of 3-4 hours at a public spot. I only have one complaint for City Sweats -- we need more locations! Ahem, like in Queen Anne + Spokane. :) read more

Had the sauna treatment and really enjoyed the experience, the service is really good and welcoming, they give you a big water bottle of water to keep you hydrated, after you can relax in a beach like atmosphere, you also get 2 slices of oranges and some electrolyte mixture, overall it was relaxing for me and will definitely go back soon read more

There were positive aspects to my visit: the staff was very friendly, the environment was relaxing and the location is great because it's only a few minutes from my home. However, I have experienced better spa trips. The sauna itself was nice. It's nice to have your own private cabin and bluetooth connection to listen to whatever you like. There is also a shower across the hall so that you can clean off after a sweat, but I have 2 complaints with this. I visited the spa just after they opened for the day and the shower was out of body wash and body lotion. When I came to the spa, I had read online that they have a shower with toiletries so I actually only brought my own shampoo and face wash because I figured of all things that a sweat lodge would have, it would be body wash. The second complaint is the size of the towels. I am not a big person and the dang towel barely covered me. I had to walk from my sauna cabin to the shower after sweating and I obviously didn't want to put clothes on before getting clean so I wrapped the tiny towel and hoped nobody saw me (the spa is co-ed). Luckily nobody was milling around at the time but still- it was uncomfortable. Upon check out, I was asked by the woman who had shown me around the spa and walked me to my sauna cabin if I would like to leave gratuity. Awkwardly, I agreed because I was using a discount coupon. But if I had paid the full price of a sauna sweat ($45), I would be fairly put-off by being asked to leave a tip for services which I think should be included in such a steep price. My overall review: if you're looking for a quick sweat close to the city, this place is okay. But for less money, you can get WAAAAY more bang for your buck at day spas such as LadyWell and Olympus spa where you have your choice of different sauna rooms (infrared, steam, cedar) and bathing pools- all with no time constraints. read more

Whenever I feel like I've eaten too much or if I feel cold or my joints are stiff, I book a session in the infrared sauna cabin. It's amazing - you can find plenty of research about the benefits, but I can tell you that I feel more resilient, alert, and calm on top of feeling like my circulation is back to normal, my joints feel lubricated and I feel more vibrant. I highly recommend this place and strongly encourage infrared sauna as valuable self-care. read more

I've only used the saunas (super clean and private) but will definitely be going back for other services. My only piece of FYI, I guess the cabins aren't fully heated at times if you book the 9 AM slot. I found that out this AM, and mine was warm to hot, but never hot hot. Nonetheless, I'll be back. Came into City Sweats for my first time with two friends. We were excited to have a "spa day" and experience all the benefits the infrared sauna cabin had to offer. The experience started off well, unfortunately, the screens, lights, and heating in our cabin stopped working about 5 minutes in. We waited a bit, then one of us got out of the cabin to alert the staff that the lights were flashing and the screen was broken. She informed us that there was no fix for the screen. We continued to sit there and tried to relax although none of us were feeling very warm. After about 35 minutes of sitting, we realized that none of us had broken a sweat. We alerted the staff, who sent us to a different room to sit and wait. We sat there for about 10 minutes until she informed us that we could wait for the cabin to re heat or get our next visit free. We requested that she comp our visit as we didn't feel it was fair to pay for not even breaking a sweat. Left feeling disappointed and that we'd wasted 1.5 hours of the day. Would not recommend or go back knowing that it's possible the heating in the cabin won't work. read more

I felt safe because everybody were wearing masks and the sauna cabin is a private cabin. Wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but the place was great. Clean and calm from the minute you walk in. I went for relaxation and other health benefits. Definitely relaxing. At least in the beginning. After about 30 mins in the sauna, it started to feel more like a work out; my pulse was going at a good clip and needed a lot more breaks. This is not a negative thing though. At least I didn't think so. You have your own private little den so you can step out and drink water as many times as you need. There's a little cubby so you can bring your phone into the cabin with you and listen to your music or whatever. They provide you with water, there's a shower, and a relaxation room at the end. THAT room was the best. Pretty much wanted to book that room for an hour. Couple of negatives though, the cabin is small so you can't really stretch out, and I'm a pretty short person so may be a bit cramped for the tall folks. You can book a large cabin that is for people that want to stretch out or sweat with friends, but obviously that costs more. The towels are not bath towels so there's some gappage :) Not a big deal since it's all private, but if you have to run to the bathroom or something, well.... Overall, really enjoyed it. I slept like a baby that night. I booked a few more sessions and am looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll come to the South Sound soon and I won't have to drive all the way to Wallingford. read more

I nearly leaped for joy when I heard City Sweats was expanding to Wallingford because we are in so desperate need of a mini spa in this cityscape. Upon coming in you'll be greeted by the friendly staff with a tonic, trust me, don't pass it up because it'll help with whatever treatment you choose. The space is kept uber clean each time I've visited and with a no shoes policy! Voices are encouraged to be kept at a whisper level, which adds to the relaxing ambiance. The infrared saunas themselves, I cannot speak highly enough of. You're provided a towel and water to replenish with, while inside you can get a nice dry sweat going while listening to music or Netflix! The last part is my favorite room, the sand room! Yes, its a room full of sand and salt rock lamps to fully unwind, sip tea and soak in the remainder of your time there. Forget the high-end spas downtown, and get in some real therapy for your body, mind, and soul. read more

City Sweats is a little slice of heaven! When I walked in I was promptly greeted by their friendly staff. The paperwork for my initial appointment took less than 5 minutes and I didn't have to wait around at all before getting started. I was led into my private room where they had water, tonics, and towels ready for me. The infrared sauna cabin was clean and comfortable and when I was done I was led back onto the beach for refreshments while I cooled off before leaving. I love that their infrared treatments are not only relaxing but beneficial on a cellular level. I've already scheduled my next visit and will definitely be back to try out all the other services they have to offer! read more
