Pad See Ew with Fried Tofu
Khalid S.

The Pad See Ew with fried tofu was incredible!! This place always has great service with top level food. I love the ambiance and flow with excellent timing on food. I highly recommend!

Pork Jowl

Okay yum!!! I'm always skeptical of Thai take out from new spots, but my friend said she got take out here and really enjoyed it! I ordered the pork jowl and panang curry with tofu (it comes with rice). The price is a lil expensive imo for Thai take out (approximately $18-20 each(. The restaurant kinda took forever to make it but it's fine. The panang curry was very well seasoned, mild spice was actually quite mild, lots of soft tofu, and a really nice thick curry texture! Lots of other spots will have a super thin and watery curry, so I was veryyyy pleasantly surprised when I ate it. Also im happy it comes with rice!! The pork jowl... probably a must order for me going forward. I wasn't even going to order it but I saw people posting pics here of it and it looked appetizing so I got it also. So GOOD. There's a yummy char on it, it's sooo tender and juicy and lil fatty. The jeow som sauce it comes with is also SO GOOD, great balance of sweet and sour. Definitely going to be my go-to place to order Thai when im feeling like splurging a bit!

Service is excellent and the food is even better. Everything is priced very well and comes in good portions. The restaurant is super cozy and quiet and makes you feel like you are having a home cooked meal. 10/10 experience here and I will be coming back!

Delicious homey little spot tucked away in Beverly Hills. Love the atmosphere and the music they were playing and the staff was super kind and welcoming! The pad thai was wildly good! Can't wait to come back for more. It is one of my favorite pad thai's i've had, super flavorful and tangy.

My office is close to this bistro and we have been here many times for lunch. They have great lunch specials, their service is fast and their staff are friendly. However, for phone orders they can take long. The restaurant itself feels very authentic and cozy.

Another celebration for our pallets and tummies!! Service was exceptionally special. It's always a pleasure to come here given the drive, traffic and other elements screaming otherwise but coming here is always worth it. The ambience and jazzy music filled us with warmth and wonder.

Such a cute restaurant with pretty decor. The staff were so nice and friendly. The food was wonderful too. Street parking is also easy. We got the crispy chicken green curry which was so yummy. The medium spice has a nice kick to it and the chicken was moist and soft. We also got the chicken panang curry and got it spicy. It was nice and creamy, plus a little bit of sweetness and a good spicy flavour. The mango sticky rice portion was a little smaller than expected but I really liked that the sticky rice wasn't overly sweet and the mango was refreshing. Overall, the flavours for me are a little milder than what I would find in Thai town. But I liked this restaurant because the spices aren't too intense and still light yet full of flavours. Plus, the ambiance is romantic and chill. I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

spicy drunken doodle, prick king, duck curry

The food was so so good. I would come back for the duck curry, spicy drunken noodles, and prick king. The restaurant is a bit small and a little cramped. There's a lot of decorations. The workers kept checking in on us the service was great!

This is the perfect triangle of excellent food, service, and ambiance. You feel like you're somewhere else packed into this space with international music playing and cool Thai designs and neon lights. I had a pineapple duck curry and chicken skewers. The wife had the original pad Thai which looked phenomenal as well. The service was so kind and met our every desire. This is the best Thai in LA hands down. Another good one is in Redondo beach but nothing compares to this. Excellence is operative word here. Anything else Thai is uncivilized. Civilize Thai Bistro is also one of the very best places I've ever been and not just for Thai. Thanks and thank you to Gina and Noy.

mango stick rice

Food and service was amazing! Our server Gina was incredibly kind and helpful. The ambience was relaxing and cozy. They play great music and have a little baking show in the background which was nice to watch while waiting for food. I will definitely come back.

i love thai food and this place had great ambiance and food! Gina was such a sweet server and was on top of everything. definitely coming back

Desert was also great !

My wife and were in the area. We live in SCV. We love Thai Food and always love hitting up a new one. Although rarely we ever say anything bad about a place but what we do is tag a place for a revisit and Civilize is 100% that place. The service was great and friendly. The nice gal running the joint felt like mom checking on us to make sure we are happy. We had the wings, curry, fried rice, Pad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. We wanted a few more items but that's next time for certain ! Thank you !

I've seen this place by walking past numerous of time but never been in. Until seeing loads of post on social media that actually gave me the pushed. We happened to be in the area for a couple of hours and with lunch approaching, might as well give it a shot. They also had a good lunch menu which was also a plus for the visit. There's street metered parking along little Santa Monica. I'm not sure if there's a parking lot that's affiliated with the restaurant. It's not that big with 2 tables with umbrellas outside. Inside, there's a good amount of tables but still not overly big. We opted for outside as it was quite nice. Menu wise, we just went with the lunch specials. 14.99 for the lunch option of whatever choices you like. A few curries dish, noddle dish, orange chicken and a few other items. Each comes with a side salad, rice (noddle dishes doesn't come with rice) and an egg roll. Potion wise was quite nice. Started off with the salad which the sauce was really tasty. Basic mixed green with like a Thai dressing. We had the chicken panang which was really good. The curry was very flavorful and with the right spicy count. And also the spicy drunken noodle with beef. Most place will include a chicken/ beef to the noodles. Here, chicken is included in the price but beef was 1.00 extra. Still pretty good and the right amount of spicy. You could tastes it. And the egg roll with the sweet dipping sauce to finish off the meal. The service was nice and the food was really good. Lunch menu wise. I'm sure if lunch was good, everything on the menu would be as well. I always love a noodle soup but I don't think they have any on the menu. Would I be back, that's a yes. We enjoyed our meal, the place was quite nice and people outside were great.

First visit to Emporium Thai and I already know this won't be my last…read more I walked in solo with a tight window between shows, which meant I had to be strategic. No leftovers, no over-ordering... a true test of discipline at a place like this. Started with a Thai iced tea that hit exactly right. Balanced, not overly sweet, and generously poured. Service throughout the meal was excellent. Attentive without hovering, and the pacing was spot on. I never felt rushed, which is rare when you're clearly on a clock. For my appetizer, I went with the Phuket wings. As someone who takes wings seriously, I can say these stood out. Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a Southern Thai curry sauce I hadn't experienced before. Rich, slightly sweet, with a depth that kept me going back for "just one more." For the main, I took the server's recommendation and ordered the Thai beef salad to balance things out. Smart call. The dressing leaned creamier than what I usually expect, but it worked. Bright, flavorful, and layered. I'll be honest, I couldn't quite finish it, but the beef didn't stand a chance. Every last bite. Dessert sealed the deal. The mango sticky rice, now famously known as the Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice, lived up to the hype. Perfectly ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that coconut sauce tying it all together. Simple, classic, and done right. The space itself tells a story. Walls lined with photos of the owner alongside celebrities from all over. But what stood out more than the photos was the man himself. He made his way around the room, greeting guests, checking in, bringing real warmth to the experience. No hierarchy, no pretense. Everyone gets treated like they belong. Twenty-six years in and I'm just now discovering this place? Better late than never. Next time, I'm bringing a group and ordering everything family style. That's the move.

This is a review for their catering as we didn't eat at the location…read more We had a large sales meeting with some out of town people so we ordered a few stereotypical Thai items from Emporium to feed everyone over lunch. We all gobbled up 2+ plates each and had a ton of leftovers. They definitely do not skimp on portions when ordering catering. All of the food tasted fresh and flavorful. You could taste all of the spices and seasonings well while not having to get through a ton of grease and oil. I really think they nailed the balance of everything in all of the dishes. If I did have one minor gripe, I will say that this stuff might not travel the absolute best. I'm not completely sure how much time passed between it getting piked up and consumed, but a lot of the items, especially those with noodles, were sticking together when trying to serve which means if you wanted a small portion...you got a big one. I know that's more on us for not eating right away, but I would've also hoped that with a catering order they would have accounted for this a bit more. In all, Emporium Thai was a fantastic lunch to break up a long business meeting. I absolutely cannot wait to go to the actual restaurant and try their dishes fresh out of the kitchen (& whenever I do find myself there I will update my review accordingly.

Personally, I'm obsessed with the Lamb Shank Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. The curry might be the best in the city. It was kind of funny -- I was already thinking that, and the father of the family next to my brother and me said the same thing to his wife. And the Pad Thai? Super thin, almost angel hair pasta-like noodles. SUPER. GOOD. I've never had anything from here I didn't think was exceptional. And this is definitely the only Thai spot I feel that way about. Only minor knock: I picked up my Pad Thai today through GrubHub and the interaction was a little odd. The owner, I assume, wasn't friendly, and my order wouldn't pull up on GrubHub, which is on me. He's probably used to delivery service drivers, but still, ask human beings "How are you doing?" before interrogating them. TLDR: the food is amazing. GO!!!

I think I found my new favorite Thai place in Spicy Sugar Thai - MidCity!…read moreYou may not think you're in the right placing looking at the red motel, but it's a total hidden gem in Mid City. Service is excellent here and I recommend dining in for optimal dining experience. However, all my leftovers were still fire, as well. I would recommend getting all of these dishes: *~Green Curry Dumpling ($12) - This may be a sleeper hit but the green curry surrounding the steamed veggie dumplings is a nice level of spicy and just makes my mouth watering thinking about this appetizer. *~Crispy Duck Rolls ($14) - They're fresh & feel so refreshing to eat with a few pieces of roasted duck inside and their fresh Thai slaw with some hoisin sauce, all wrapped in rice paper and lettuce, of course. I'm obsessed with this appetizer, as well! *~Pad Thai Meltdown ($22) - This is the most fun spin on pad thai of all time! I'm a basic girl and goodness do I love pad thai. Well their recipe is absolutely delicious ~ but this dish has melted cheese on top, as well! It's not as weird as it sounds, it's actually amazing just making the dish taste more creamy, not really cheesy tasting. My only disappoint was they are supposed to grate & melt the cheese tableside and that didn't happen. I went on a busy lunch though so I'm assuming that's why we didn't get the tableside show! Maybe next time! *~Chef Katt's Special Fried Rice ($18) - If you're going to get a fried rice, this classic Thai one may be the one to get with sweet Thai sausage slices and bacon pieces throughout. Loved this fried rice! Honestly, this was the best Thai food I've had in ages! They are adding little spins on dishes to make them fresh and new, and most importantly - delicious! I'll be back soon!
