    FALAFEL BURGER
    constance k.

The service here was friendly, but the menu and pricing are disappointing. I was put off to find out they were out of hummus the day I visited. Worse, hummus isn't included in any other menu items--your only option is a $19 standalone plate. If you promote your hummus as "the best" and charge that much, you should want everyone to taste it.Instead, I ordered the falafel burger, which comes with or without sour cream. I've never had sour cream on falafel, so I gave it a shot, but omitting hummus entirely feels like an odd choice. The falafel itself was tasty, the green sauce was excellent, and the pickle was a great surprise. However, the sour cream really did not work. I wouldn't have finished it, but I forced myself to since the sandwich and a lemonade cost me $30. Sadly, this won't be my new go-to falafel spot.

LOUD spot. Delicious, also. Counted about 4 dogs in the restaurant. A baby. Three girls, shout-talking "Omg, I love this song!" as some deep-cut Israeli hip-hop song played at a non-subtle volume. As we were leaving, this same girl, sitting inches away from her friends, said loud enough for people outside to hear: "THIS FOOD IS SO DELICIOUS!" She's loud, but she's not wrong. I tried this place, at Grand Central Station, in DTLA, but this was our first visit to the 'flagship?' location here in LA. Service was friendly, albiet scattered. My rotisserie chicken pita wasn't nearly as good as the falafel pita, I had at Grand Central. But I'm excited to go back and try different pitas!

We came by for lunch here, it's a small location on 3rd street by some shops. Street parking. They have lots of tables inside and a couple tables out front too. They're known for having a tomato on all their tables. We asked what the favorites / best things are and they said the ribeye steak and chicken schnitzel pita so we ordered those two. The guy also asked if we want to try their cauliflower as an appetizer and said it's what they're known for, and it's a must get. We had to order it after that glowing recommendation. Honestly when the cauliflower came out we were confused. I guess it's cool because you get an entire head of cauliflower but besides that, there's really nothing special about it. It isn't seasoned, or if it is, we couldn't tell, though it did come with a dipping sauce. It was okay but I definitely wouldn't say this is a "must get" item and we were pretty disappointed that they clearly upsold us on it. Next, the pitas. We're used to having Mediterranean food all the time and that typically means big portions with lots of sides and lots of hummus. Well, there's no hummus. And the pita sandwiches are minuscule. Especially for the prices. The ribeye steak ($21) was certainly better than the schnitzel ($19). The schnitzel was dry and pretty bland overall. We actually didn't like that one. The steak was better in flavor and it was okay but we'd prefer to go to pretty much any other Mediterranean spot. Highly overpriced for what you get. We were pretty disappointed overall.

After visiting LACMA we were looking for a place for dinner. Yelp was our guide and we're so happy to experience the wonderful food. I had the lamb kebab pita, run over potato and a bag of green beans. My pita was delicious with the ground lamb grilled perfectly with roasted tomatoes and onion, pickles, tahini. The pita was freshly made and so soft and fluffy. The green beans were so full of flavor. Hubby loved the run over potato. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Miznon is what happens when great food meets great vibes. Hip, upbeat, and the staff is so happy you'll wonder what they're on (probably pita). The Amburger in fresh, home made pita with a fried egg is a juicy, messy masterpiece. Veggie lovers, there's a whole board of options. From their roasted cauliflower to seasonal vegetables, and creative dips, it's a colorful, flavorful lineup. Full bar as well, definitely trying the drinks next time.

The food here is phenomenal! Service is wonderful, so friendly and hard-working. They have plenty of indoor seating as well as a bit of outdoor seating. Meter parking right out front. The prices and portions are fair. I highly recommend the whole roasted cauliflower, such a great value and such a showstopper! The schnitzel was also delicious, we sampled our way through most of their menu and enjoyed all of it immensely! Their sauces are delightful and enhance the meals perfectly. The bread is so fluffy and pillow, addicting! Highly recommended if you are looking for a delicious and flavorful meal in the area!

Value for money is lacking but it's pretty tasty. I would recommend the pitas over the plate as the plate is just a deconstructed pita with an extra piece of meat. It's like a fast casual place but a nice place to sit and hang out a bit. You order at the counter and take a number and they bring your food to you.

Miznon is easily my new favorite fast-casual chain. I first heard about them in Vegas, and then later found out they had opened at Grand Central Market in Los Angeles. Ever since I finally tried them last year, I've been a fan. Everything here is fantastic! The food is always high quality, fresh, and just feels clean in a way that really stands out. Nothing I've had here has disappointed me. At this point, I've tried almost all of their pita sandwiches except for the candy steak, and everything has been excellent. My personal favorites so far are the lamb kebab and the chicken schnitzel pita. I'm also a big fan of their falafel, and the cauliflower is absolutely to die for. I honestly didn't expect to love it as much as I do, but now it's one of my favorite things on the menu. I also want to give a special shoutout to Eden, who took great care of me and made me feel very welcome at this new location. He was warm, kind, and hospitable, and he really reinforced why I enjoy coming to Miznon so much. Definitely come here if you're looking for some of the best Israeli and Mediterranean food around.

Food was delicious!! They have a large and small size of the green beans but the small is still plenty . I loved the lemon and garlic added to the green beans as well as the roasted cauliflower which melts in your mouth. So many healthier sides to choose from compared to other restaurants serving fries. They give tahini and a spicy green sauce on the side which go great on top do the steak pita . Definitely coming back

An update to my review: Miznon reached out to me about my experience per my review and I had a kind and generous email exchange with the branch manager, Rachel. First, Rachel refunded me the full meal cost of the prior visit. She then invited me to come to Miznon for a free meal for me and a friend, on them. I took her up on the suggestion. Our second experience was much better than the first. The service was kind, and respectful. Our dishes were mostly excellent. On top of our order, they further provided us a free green beans dish and batata (sweet potatoes). The green beans are particularly good and highly recommended. I attach pictures of some of the dishes below. In particular, we ordered the same salad and hummus plate as in our first visit, and the dishes were much better. The salad, see picture, was of decent size, beautifully presented, and seasoned very well. The hummus plate this time was much more generous, and delicious. Our pita sandwiches, chicken and cauliflower, were good, though I do still feel they need more salad and hummus or tahini in their pita sandwiches. They are somewhat one dimensional and small for the price. All in all, Miznon (and in particular I want to thank Rachel) went out of their way to fix the first experience, was kind, generous, and the food was excellent. This is a wonderful establishment for Mediterranean food, though it's somewhat expensive. We do expect to return. My most sincere thank you to Miznon for reaching out, for going out of their way to correct for the first experience, and in particular my most sincere thank you to Rachel who was genuine, kind, friendly, and honest throughout the exchange.

Nua is tucked discreetly inside a hedge on a beautiful street, across from City Hall, in Beverly Hills. You need to know where it is or you might miss it. I found it by chance while looking for unusual brunch places and it was more than serendipity, it was Kismet. I wondered what Nua, the name, meant. It seems it is most appropriately translated as "authentic" or "fresh". That certainly fits our experience. It can also mean "flow" or "movement" and that also applied as the entire time we were there, a cool, soft breeze wafted around us from a combination of the fresh air flowing in from outside on a sunny temperate California day and the delicate waves emanating from the brilliant Vornados (the only kind of fans we have in our house!) positioned strategically around the room. Our first impression was: wow, beautiful place! The mid-century decor and fresh flowers, the vivid colors that were well coordinated to confer a cheerful atmosphere everywhere we looked, and the glowing light streaming in from the huge windows enveloped us in welcome. Our servers were exceptional. Rachel and Josh took care of us as if we were family. They checked on us at the right times and made sure we had everything we could have wanted, and so we did. The menu is a dream, even for vegetarians. We had a hard time choosing, so look at my pictures to see what we got. Everything was fresh, unique, tasty, and beautifully presented. There was 1950s and '60s music bathing us in a soft retro mood, and the dining room was intimate and elegant. Parking: it is hit and miss. Sometimes the nearest public garages are closed or full. I would use the valet for the hotel, right around the corner. It is reasonable and convenient. There has not been a more perfect setting for this one-of-a-kind experience. But, for us, it will not be a one-off. We plan to return and soon. Loved it so much!

I really like the Art Deco-inspired atmosphere, which feels like a nod to old Hollywood. It is upscale without feeling stuffy, with warm lighting, wood accents and a beautifully designed dining room. They also have a great cocktail menu with a lot of interesting choices. What I especially liked was that there weren't a lot of drinks that looked overly sweet. I ordered the Passionfruit Sour and was impressed before I even tasted it. The presentation was beautiful -- almost too pretty to drink -- and fortunately, it tasted as good as it looked. We went with the DineLA menu, which offered several choices for each course. We selected the muhammara and falafel to start, followed by the Black Tiger Shrimp, then the half chicken with toum. For dessert, we ordered the olive oil cake. Both of us left feeling very satisfied. In fact, we had to take part of the olive oil cake home. There was clearly a lot of attention to detail in both the preparation and presentation of every course. I hadn't tried the chicken on my previous visits and was surprised by just how good it was. Our server explained that it is marinated in labneh, which helps make it incredibly tender and flavorful. As with my previous experiences at LadyHawk, this felt like elevated dining. The service was equally impressive. As we were leaving, our server thanked us, the bartender thanked us, other servers thanked us, and the host asked how everything had been. I commented to my spouse that from the moment we approached the front desk, everyone we interacted with was genuinely personable and friendly. Great food, beautiful surroundings and top-rate service. Came on a Friday night- restaurant itself is beautiful. The lighting is cozy and you really do feel…read morelike you're in a fairy garden haha. However- beware, you may get bit by mosquitoes bc of all the greenery. Also, the trees kept dropping stuff on us all night lol. Food itself was alright... we ordered the mussels, beef tartare, lamb chops, and porcini risotto. Mussels were plump and have a nice curry flavor but lacked the wow factor. Skip the steak tartare...basically could only taste the mustard/capers. Lamb chops were probs the best of the four dishes we got, you get 3 pieces, tender and juicy, however comes w a heap of super lemony herbs on top. Risotto looked better than it tasted...risotto itself wasn't as thick and creamy as I personally prefer. Had a good amount of mushrooms though! We eventually got a side of Brussel sprouts for some greens but unfortunately all we tasted was the vinaigrette:// overall..overhyped. Definitely more of a restaurant for vibes rather than food.
