Felt like trying something different and thought we would give Civitas a try. The coffee shop is in a very low key spot, so if you drive by it's easy to miss. I didn't know what to expect, but Carlos was very helpful and informative and inspired me to try their chaggachino iced coffee which is something new I didn't see on the menu until I walked in. To my surprise, I absolutely loved it. I was able to substitute the regular milk for almond milk which was perfect for me. They also have other milk alternatives where most coffee shops I've been to have limited alternative options. Thank you, Carlos for you exceptional customer service! I will definitely be back! New coffee house opened by the house. Day off today (July 4th - God bless America). I forget to pickup some coffee so I was headed to the Chevron to get some Joe when I remembered seeing Civitas Coffee on Instagram. So here I am. The coffee is great. (I only drink "just coffee with a hint of cream" - not all that foofoo stuff y'all youngens like - hehe). Very cool little place to sit and relax and enjoy some good coffee. Great environment. Non blaring, mellow music (like a massage to my ears). The sound of running water (I assume they have a little waterfall behind the counter). Not crowded. Very kind and courteous staff (family owned). They've got all the coffee house snacks and such as well. Another update to say 2 things since I love this spot so much: 1. They now have a seasonal cookie butter cream top cold brew and it's DELICIOUS!! Dark, smooth, strong coffee flavor with a perfect amount of sweetness. Nice amount of cream, not too heavy. It doesn't taste overly like the sweet artificial cookie butter which is what I was wary of, it's more mellow but nice and rich. Very reminiscent of the actual cookie and a fantastic fall/holiday drink. Exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend!! 2. If u are a regular or decide to become a regular like me, they have a rewards program!! I've been coming almost every week for the past few months and only found out today!!! Civitas is my favorite coffee shop! The baristas are so kind, and the owner and one of the baristas know me by name which makes me feel so welcomed. Their drinks are delicious; they are one of the few places around that sell and serve a quality dark roast. The San Fernando and El Jefe roasts are absolutely delicious if you like medium-dark roasts. My favorite drinks to order are a black iced pour over, cold brew with vanilla and cold foam, and the Spanish latte. The food here is so good too; I always order the strawberry almond ricotta toast. It's a decent hipster cafe with good amount of seating. I ordered the Honey Yuzu citron which is a good refreshing, citrus beverage. It can be carbonated as well. It taste similar to a lima (for my Latinx peers). It was a good beverage. The environment isn't that cozy to come and do your work if you're Interested. Good service and friendly. Our other drink was a Lavendar Vanilla iced latte for my sister who agreed and said it was really good. Sugar free Vanilla latte Honey Lavender Latte with Oat Milk Both were wonderful! I literally chugged down the Lavender Latte as it wasn't too sweet for my liking. The lavender flavor, however, was lacking just a tad bit. Despite that, the drink itself was very delicious and satisfying. The Sugar Free Vanilla latte was wonderful as well! New specialty coffee shop on the block and I love it! Civitas Coffee is close to home, but would still be worth the trip if it wasn't. My gf and I love their Matcha-cano and Matcha-lattes. Ok I love this place, it's our local spot, BUT I really wish they'd have more people then just one person every morning. I always feel bad for the employee who's on their own because there's always at least 7 people in there at a time ordering drinks / food. If you order food - it's going to be a WAIT. Sometimes it even takes quite awhile to get your drink. However - their drinks are always on point and don't waiver no matter who the baristas are - I think that's why people love it there so much. I love Civitas. It's my go to coffee place - and I only drink cold coffee. They have a great cold brew, which I've gotten in cups, as well as in larger bottles to go. I also enjoy their cold chagachino (which is a mushroom coffee concoction with oat milk - sounds weird but its delicious). They have a small pastry display, and I've gotten croissants (chocolate, ham/cheese, spinach/cheese, as well as vegan donuts - the cinnamon one is the best). I've always gotten my coffee to go, but there is a small area for sitting inside and a few chairs outside. I realized a couple of trip ago that when I entered my phone number so I could receive a text for my receipt, that there is a loyalty program with the clover app. So if you want to earn free drinks, you can earn points that way! read more

I have heard great things about their coffee, I don't drink coffee unfortunately, but I love tea. A matcha latte is one of my favorite drinks and I have them daily. I use ceremonial matcha so I'd say I have higher standards and don't expect cafes to use the same quality. My gf told me good things about this place since she lives close to it. The matcha latte was okay, more just milk that anything, and I couldn't really taste the matcha. Maybe it was because my gf got it to go and it got watered down? As specialty coffee is beginning to grow more and more, Civitas Coffee is definitely finding its place in the world of specialty coffee, as is doing great! I previously had the honor of meeting the owner(s) at a previous shop just days prior to visiting, had a good conversation about coffee and small business specialty coffee shops. This shop serves as another spot for coffee goers and students who often frequent the other 2 shops nearby! The owners are very great and sweet, extremely easy to approach and talk to! I first had a cappuccino with oat milk and shared a shot of espresso with my cousin. The espresso was bright and sweet. After a coupe hours, my boyfriend and I tried their batch brew (or drip coffee as others may call it) and the Sparkling Yuzu, but instead of adding a shot of matcha as they recommend, I added a shot of espresso to make a sweetened espresso tonic (which I definitely recommend if you've tried something similar to an espresso tonic before). Their batch brew was good, and was priced SO well! They offer pastries and baked goods. Didn't have the chance to try any, but they do offer vegan donuts for those that like them! As for the place, it is a good place to get some work done (has many outlets which is nice for many of the students who come here) or hangout with friends. It is clean in here which is something I always look for in shops, because it shows the TLC that they give to the shop and for their customers. The bathroom was nice and clean! Plentiful of parking. After my favorite coffee shop in LM closed down, it was hard to find a new fave until now. I went here for the first time today to check it out. I was pleased to see a cute, clean little coffee shop with the friendliest staff. The strawberry matcha with oat milk caught my eye.
