I hit a collum at a parking lot and came here for estimate and possible work done. Went over step by step what the charges were before start working on my car. There were no hidden/extra charges afterward either. Very honest and try their best to save me money. It was during lunch time and I had to wait. They even offered me lunch!

Dirt marks left by repair people.

I took my car to CJ. Auto based on the positive Yelp reviews and the shop is in the community. My family and I support local businesses. I had spoken with James on the phone the day before and established a time to bring my baby (car)in. When I arrived I was pleasantly greeted by a Korean gentleman. He informed me James was not available but he would assist me. I explained to the gentleman that although I could open my door I had to pull hard on the door handle to open. My concerned was maybe the door handle mechanism would gradually stop functioning. (I have owned the car for a year and four months. I also had a mechanic check the car for me and was told although the car was old, 1995, it was in great condition). I asked the Korean man if they would diagnose the problem. He said he would have his repair man analyze and if minor issue, would make the repair free of charge. I was impressed and said ok. Unfortunately, the diagnose went south. What I thought would be a quick fix turned into an all day ordeal. The first repair man opened the door panel and said a piece was bent. This was an easy fix. However, after attempting to fix the bent piece (the repair man obviously had some problems) he showed me a piece that he said was broke and stated the piece had been broke. Once he put the door panel back on the car, the door handle probably would not work. In short I would not able to open or lock my car door. I reminded the repair man that if the piece was broke and this was preventing the car door from opening, why was my door handle and lock mechanism working up until the time he open the door panel to determine the issue? The repair man attempted to put the door handle, lock and panel back together. Unfortunately, it was malfunctioning, once locked the key could not unlock the car and the door would not open from the inside or the outside of the car. To his credit the repair man diligently attempted to restore the door handle and lock (I didn't bring my car in for a lock issue) back to functioning. James finally arrived. He profusely apologize and assured me they would fix the problem. Another repair man said the part of the door handle decor was glued on hence they could not put the piece back on. James politely offered me lunch and said the guys needed a break. I was not offended by this. Since the guys were taking lunch. James suggested I come back in a couple of hours. More problems happen when it was time to pick up my car. James asked me to bring the spare key because the original key no longer worked to lock and unlock the car. Why I asked? I reminded James the key was working when I first arrived. James basically informed me that the car handle and lock was repaired temporarily. I was told I would not be able to lock my car due to the door handle / lock mechanism piece being broke. I reminded them that these items were functioning when I brought the car in. Please restore my car to the level it was at when I first arrived. At this point the 2nd Korean gentleman behaved rudely and unprofessional. Irately he inquired, "what was his shop to do. My car is old ....." We had a heated exchange. To make a long store short, the 2nd Korean man was rude , unprofessional and spoke harshly. Excuse me, I was the one that should have been irate and demanded that my car handle/lock mechanism and decor be returned to the state it was in before his repair man analyzed my car. He had no respect for me as a customer and talked condescendingly to me. The door handle/ lock works but I don't know for how long. Only one of my keys work now for the door lock as oppose to both keys working (I was told that the first key no longer worked because it's too old. Although the key was working before they dismantled the door panel to access my door handle issue). My door handle decor was not put back on. One of the workers left a dirty footprint on my seat and the door panel is filthy. James is an excellent front man for this repair shop but the second Korean gentleman is unprofessional and disrespectful. I should not have to be accompanied by a man when I need any repair work done on my car. Also a repair shop should be willing to put the customer's car back to the initial functioning level it was at when arrived. If something goes wrong , the repair shop must be willing to accept responsibility for their part and fix their mistakes. I dare say it the right thing to do.

    STOLEN !! SO SAD.

The area they painted still has a black mark on it with compound stuck btw the doors. If you couldn't paint over my sensor, then you should not have promised me that from the get go. Why did you say it could look brand new???? Back to the lady who has zero customer service skills... do not raise your voice at a customer bc you accused me of having a bad experience with your coworker. And then when I responded asking about how you behaved, you shout "i dont want to argue!!" Please develop some awareness if you want to be client facing. First rule is greet customers in a friendly manner and act inquisitive. What is so hard about saying u will give me a receipt instead of being mute and unresponsive as I am standing there wondering what i am supposed be waiting for... and then acting like u are the victim... roll the footage bc you were already off the phone and could have communicated what normal people in CS do. Be more respectable. DO NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS THAT WAY BC YOU LOOK AND ACT MISERABLE.

They made the whole process super easy from start to finish. The team was professional, responsive, and really transparent about what needed to be fixed. They didn't try to upsell me or add unnecessary work, which I really appreciated. My headlight looks perfect now like nothing ever happened and the surrounding area was cleaned up way better than I expected. Turnaround time was also quick, and they kept me updated throughout, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Overall, super solid experience. If you need any kind of light or minor body repair, I'd definitely recommend them.
