Well this is funny, looks like these disgraceful owners got my previous review down. Won't even acknowledge this post and give us their point of view, instead they just delete the post! They can't take a lick of criticism and try to hide it!! Just showing there true colors , but I had it saved just in case something like this happened. This place used to be one of my favorite chill cafes, but the new owners are absolutely ruining it. What was once a relaxed, welcoming spot now feels like they're desperately trying to turn it into some kind of 5-star restaurant and failing badly. The changes they've made don't fit the place at all. The vibe is gone, and atmosphere feel forced, and it's clear they don't understand what made this cafe special in the first place. What's even worse is how the employees seem to be treated. You can tell something is wrong when cooks, waiters, and waitresses keep disappearing. Almost every time I come in, there are new faces. I've overheard multiple conversations about hours being cut, and the owner constantly seems to be on a power trip. Morale is clearly low, and it shows in the service not because of the staff, but because they look stressed and unsupported. Honestly, I haven't heard a single good thing about the new ownership from anyone customers or employees. I feel bad for the workers who are stuck dealing with this and for the people who keep coming back hoping it'll be like it used to be. Sadly, it's just not anymore. Such a shame to see a great local spot being set back like this. read more

Best diner in the area. Breakfast served all day. Great QUALITY food, very reasonable prices, and good beer/wine selections. Service is excellent (lots of cute waitresses too). If you're looking for a diner, comfort food, or a good breakfast spot to meet friends, look no further. I used to eat here 10+ years ago when it was called Corcorans, then it was a time capsule greasy-spoon like most the diners in the area. A few years back it was bought by new owners who really cleaned it up. Great variety on the menu. Specials, including the good old diner standbys (friday fish, sunday prime rib, etc). Sunday mornings can get pretty busy, but they've got a huge dining room around back, and I've never waited long even with a good sized group. Some of my favorite menu items: -Breakfast burrito - Grilled Parmesian Turkey Sandwich -Patty Melt -Fish and Chips -Huevos Rancheros And if you're looking for a hang-over breakfast.. the chicken fried steak breakfast smothered in gravy will have you humming in no time. CJ's has always been my go to place. The food was consistent, the atmosphere comfortable and the wait staff, the best. I will be the first to admit that I don't like change. So, when ownership changed I was worried but gave it a few tries (4 to be exact) because I have always loved it so much. Unfortunately, I don't love it anymore. The service is awful. We spent about 20 minutes waiting for our server and it was not busy. When we did order, there was a whole lot of we don't have that, the fries don't come with that, etc. Prices are up, portion sizes are smaller. And just the general attitude of the staff. Because let's be honest a big part of what made CJ's so great was the warm and friendly staff. The old adage "if it ain't broke don't fix it" applies here. They changed the menu, changed the people. I was on my way passing through town with my Husband while we were craving some breakfast this morning so we decided to try this place out after seeing great reviews. I was delighted with a very welcoming atmosphere and very nice service. Carson was very friendly and treated us well. I ordered the Denver Omelette with home fries well done. The omelette was very good and the home fries were cooked to perfection. My Husband got the chicken fried steak with over medium eggs and hash browns which also looked very good. We both got one of their delicious homemade muffins (coconut pineapple is amazing) which i would definitely recommend. Overall I'd give this place a 10/10 and will definitely come back. read more

This is an old fashioned diner style restaurant. It's not hip or canned, just plain good diner food. The people are friendly, and the service is done with a smile and a heartfelt thank you. We have come here for years to enjoy the experience of being in Arroyo Grande, the way it was 20-30 years ago. I love the barbecued chicken wrap. It's always made fresh, and always tastes delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful, with a cozy, family-run feel that makes you want to linger. Everything was incredibly fresh, and the cocktails were some of the best I've had. They also have fantastic mocktails, which I really appreciated. The crispy taco was absolutely delicious and was my favorite thing I ordered. While not every dish was my personal favorite, the overall experience more than made up for it. The prices are a little on the higher side, but you're paying for a great atmosphere, wonderful service, and quality drinks. If you're looking for a relaxed spot with great hospitality, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming vibe, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.

We took my sister in law visiting from Arizona for dinner. It was the first time we had been there…read moreourselves. The chips are the best, fresh, hot and tasty. My sister in law had the Tommy's Margarita and the cheese enchiladas, she said the best she has ever had! Better than her favorite Mexican restaurant in Arizona. I had the beef chimichanga and was very impressed too! Hubby had the seafood enchiladas and said everything was good and fresh. We will definitely be going back soon!
