Understandable, but that raised my bar of what to expect even more. After finally being seated, we were quickly greeted with waters and asked what we wanted to drink. We game planned exactly what we wanted to order while standing in line so that we could place one large order. We ordered two drinks to start. We started with the one Chris's Famous Rum Punch and one Bryce's Miami Blues. Boy oh boy, do they pour HEAVY here!! For an appetizer we ordered the Baked Oysters and the calamari. For 4/5 of us, it was our first time trying any kind of oyster and we're hooked now. The calamari was flawless! Crispy, tasty, soft and not chewy at all! The marinara sauce was chunky and amazing, could have eaten a bowl of just the sauce! For entrees we ordered Cj's Cajun Combo, Fried Shrimp Grouper Sandwich and chicken sandwich. Wow, the entire table was buzzing about their entrees! The protein portions for the sandwiches were HUGE, the fried shrimp were crispy and juicy, but the CJ's Cajun Combo was OMG WOW. I found this restaurant on a Yelp collection for top Miami seafood restaurants and was so excited to visit! When we were walking up to the restaurant we ended up meeting the owner's sister (I think?) and she quickly introduced us to her niece who is one of the waitresses. We got a perfect table outside outside right on the edge of the patio and had a great king grab meal with the fettuccine alfredo. Also had a strawberry daiquiri with my meal which was very good. They even put an extra little Bacardi rum bottle inside the drink so it mixes with the daiquiri as you drink it. It is a little bit pricey (hence the 4 star rating) BUT I would highly recommend this restaurant to any crab lovers visiting Miami! read more

Our waiter, Reggie (who has to be one of the best waiters we have ever had the pleasure of having) was an absolute BLAST. I ordered the snow crab, and my husband ordered the fisherman's basket. Both were excellent, however the crab legs absolutely BLEW OUR MINDS. Now mind you, we had eaten at very "high end" restaurants during our stay, and NONE of the other crab legs even came close to comparing to CJ's. I literally crave them every.single.day. The fettuccini on the side was JUST as great, we were blown away at the amount of flavor in everything. If you are looking for a fabulous, clean, upbeat, mind blowing seafood place on the beach IN South Beach - look no further. It all came so fast one after another. The oyster was great but it was not cut off from the shell so you have to cut it with little fork. The Snow Crab has a salty seasoning on it mix with butter it was really good. After I finished my waiter that was very friendly before disappear for a long time. We came during happy hour which consisted of specials on their large frozen drinks (only $8 a drink, regularly priced at $10). There's a variety of different seafood dishes on their menu, in addition to steaks. Most of their entrees come with sides as well. I ordered the snow crab special (1.5 pounds of snow crabs) drenched in Old Bay with a side of the parmesan corn. It also came with a side of hot butter, which had an "old" taste to it... that was quickly thrown out. The crabs weren't anything different from what I could get back home from the wharf, and the overall meal was nothing special to rave about. It was the night of game 7 of the NBA finals, and the place was pretty full, outside and inside. However, there were several seats at the bar, which is where I waited for my to go order. Numerous TVs all over the place, so you can`t miss anything. The crowd was lively. At one point I asked the bartender, uh, everyone does know LeBron left the Heat..right..he chuckled and gave me a smile that let me know that Miami still supports bron bron. The cost added up fast, but I was really pleased with the food, the seasoning on the food and it wasn`t break the bank expensive, but $60 for a couple of clusters of crab legs and some shrimp and half a piece of corn on the cob is ....well South Beach pricing. The bartender told me going in that with the crowd they had, it would take about 45 mins for my to go order to be ready, and he practically nailed the wait time exactly. I felt really good that he continued to check on me while I waited and kept my water glass full, and didn`t offer or pressure me to order liquor while sitting at the bar. As I was leaving, the bartender told me they stayed open until 2am on Sunday, and told me to come on back if the Cavs won, and he`d buy me a drink. They did. I didn`t. I just hope he remembers me next time and that he owes me a drink. Next trip to Miami, they are definitely on the list to visit and sit back and enjoy the outdoor scene. In one word this place is: AWESOME! The staff were very friendly and humorous at the same time. The food was delicious, large portions and inexpensive. I ordered a chicken salad, I must admit I didn't eat all of it, but I wasn't that hungry and I am not a fan of fried foods. Two of my friends ordered the Po Boy Sandwich and we were all shocked at how big the sandwich was. My other friend ordered the tilapia sandwich and the fish fillet was so much bigger than the bread and very fresh and flaky. Fries and cole slaw were also included with both of these orders. Ocean Drive isn't the cheapest place to eat and we had low expectations for pricing here. It was maybe 2pm and we were starving for something to eat after a couple hours at South Beach. After adding some time to our parking, we headed to CJ's for some fresh seafood. The store was pretty empty around 2pm. Since it was muggy outside, we chose to sit inside, where no one else was sitting. But it was nice and air conditioned. The server got our orders in quickly and our food was completed relatively quickly, as well. We ordered the One Crab Cake as a light appetizer to share, which was unique in that it came as a stuffed in a crab shell. Definitely special and tasty, although it was just one crab cake. I ordered the blackened mahi tacos, which were not as healthy as I would have hoped, but still delicious. The fish was slightly over-seasoned but tasted great. I could have used a bit more pico di gallo, but it was definitely necessary to spice up the taco. The fries were SUPER crispy and hot and well seasoned. I couldn't stop eating them, except we ran out of parking time. Not fresh, they weren't as tasty. The cole slaw was slightly sweet and I downed the small container of it right away. Overall a tasty and mostly affordable meal off of Ocean Drive (if you stick to the sandwiches).
