We stopped in mid-afternoon for a late lunch and were greeted right away. The hostess offered patio or indoor seating and thoughtfully let us know there was active construction nearby that would make the patio pretty noisy the entire time. That honesty was appreciated, we chose to sit inside so we could actually enjoy conversation. The space itself is beautiful, quaint, colorful, and perfectly in tune with that relaxed Miami Beach, art deco vibe without feeling overwhelming. It instantly felt like a calm beachside escape. When our server came over, I asked about gluten-free options. The menu had an indication of gluten-free options available but he went a step further and explained they offer a gluten-free bagel-style bread substitute, which made navigating the menu so much easier. I ordered the avocado with poached eggs (served on the gluten-free bagel thin), and it was incredible. The eggs were cooked perfectly, yolk bursting just right, and topped with fresh arugula and herbs that made every bite flavorful and fresh. Presentation was just as beautiful as the taste. My coworker had the grilled cheese and fries and loved every bite as well. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious, and the experience felt easy and thoughtful from start to finish. Huge bonus: they serve brunch-style options all day until 4pm, which is perfect when you're traveling or craving breakfast at unconventional hours. Finding a spot like this in the heart of Miami Beach on a Wednesday afternoon felt like a win. We would absolutely come back!

It had such a fun, elevated vibe that made the whole experience feel special from the moment we walked in. We ordered a variety of items to try, and everything was really enjoyable. The Turkey Burger was an 8/10, simple but good and filling. The Espresso Martini was a 10/10 perfectly made and definitely a must-order if you're going. I also loved the D3 Express Juice with dragon fruit, pineapple, coconut water, and lime it was so refreshing and paired really well with everything. The reviews that I read after my bad experience with this place confirms that while the food is good but overpriced the service sucks because the servers are getting the gratuity anyway. The management ( Marius) should seriously evaluate the attitude and customer service skills of their servers, or at least the one that served us ( Douglas) I asked him politely if it would be possible to add an egg yolk to my tuna tartare, and the server didn't even bother checking with the chef/ manager or at least making an effort to pretend to. The response felt dismissive and uninterested. The food for my party was good, but unfortunately the customer service completely ruined the experience. Because of this, I won't be recommending this place, nor will I be returning. BTW you can ask your server to remove that 20% "automated" gratuity if there is no service. They can't force it on you. Especially if they don't tell you ahead of time.

Happy hour clocks in at $12 for food, $12 for all house cocktails, $10 spritzes, and a flat $6 for all beer, which in Miami Beach feels almost suspicious in the best way possible. I kept it simple with an ice cold Peroni while my wife went for the Giardino 75, a gorgeous little spritz built on Empress Indigo Gin, St. Germain, mint, lime, and prosecco. She loved it. The color alone was worth the ten bucks, but it actually drank as good as it looked. For food we shared the Bolognese Grilled Cheese and let me tell you, this thing punches well above its $12 price tag. Thick cut brioche toast, griddled until the edges go deep golden brown, stacked over a rich slow simmered bolognese with cheese pulling through every bite. Dusted with parmesan and fresh herbs, plated with cherry tomato skewers that added a nice little pop of acidity. Comfort food dressed up for a night out. Service was attentive and easy, drinks came quick, plates came hot, and nobody made us feel rushed even sitting through happy hour. The room itself has that playful Sicilian energy with the Moor head planters and bright touches throughout, which fits the vibe of the menu perfectly. Would I make a special trip back to Miami Beach for it? Probably not from Fort Myers, but if you're already in the area during happy hour, this is one of the better values you'll find on the beach. Solid four stars. Good drinks, good food, great specials, and service that actually showed up.

We've dined at well over a dozen Michelin-starred restaurants, so we came in excited and with a good sense of what to expect from this style of dining. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The dining room is intimate with a relatively small number of tables, and the open kitchen creates a great atmosphere. The space is dark and moody with unique artwork, comfortable seating, and a level of attention to detail that carries throughout the entire experience. The staff was excellent, attentive without being intrusive, and every interaction felt polished and professional. When making a reservation, you're required to select either the 6-course or 9-course tasting menu in advance. We initially chose the 6-course menu but upgraded to the 9-course because we were concerned the portions might be too small. In hindsight, that concern was justified. The craftsmanship of the food is undeniable. Every dish was beautifully plated and technically impressive. Standout courses included the yellowtail, which had a wonderful lingering spice, and an oyster preparation that incorporated multiple elements and textures in a very creative way. We also added the Australian Wagyu enhancement, which ended up replacing the duck course. While the portion was only a couple of small slices, it was one of the best bites of the evening. The accompanying mushroom, puree, and reduction sauce were outstanding. Dessert was another highlight. The olive oil cake combined fruit, floral elements, cookies, and multiple textures in a way that felt refined and balanced. Nothing throughout the meal was overly rich or heavy-handed. Every course was thoughtful, nuanced, and technically well-executed. For drinks, I highly recommend the Mango Tree cocktail. It tasted like an elevated mango lassi and was one of my favorite parts of the evening. Our biggest criticism is the portion size relative to the price. Even after nine courses, my husband was still hungry at the end of the meal. I was satisfied, but just barely. If you're someone with a larger appetite, I would strongly recommend eating something beforehand or planning for a late-night snack afterward. The wine pricing was also difficult for us to justify. While we understand restaurant markups, several selections felt significantly overpriced compared to what could be purchased at retail. Our final bill for two 9-course tasting menus, two glasses of wine, a cocktail, and the Wagyu enhancement came to over $660 before tip. Overall, Stubborn Seed absolutely delivers on creativity, technique, presentation, service, and atmosphere. If this is your first Michelin-star experience, it's a fantastic introduction to fine dining. However, if you've visited many Michelin-starred restaurants before, be prepared for exceptionally small portions and a very high price point. Would we recommend it? Yes, for the culinary artistry and experience. Would we personally return? Probably not. While we appreciated the quality and craftsmanship, the value proposition wasn't there for us given the portion sizes and overall cost.
