knowing they would have the early game on...i talked my family into a sandwich. well of course i knew they also serve beer so ended up with the sandwich and a 22 oz drakes. i like the option - 22 vs the measly 16 - super size! lol - i always buy up when there is an option...i may have a problem... sandwiches were delicious - bread was unreal + they use oil on the hot pastrami...which made me think - let's talk about adding a hoagie! we need a peninsula hoagie!!! i can test the sandos - it will be the best back to the visit...staff was awesome. it was an excellent experience start to finish. oh - and by the way - they also have hamburgers! so you have options beyond a typical killer deli sandwich. everyone LOVED

Turkey bacon avocado on a Dutch crunch

Bomb sandwich spot! Hidden gem if I may! Came and had Arturo the sandwich artist take my order. Talked me thru the menu and I went with a customized sandwich( I'm a picky eater lol) got a turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich on a Dutch crunch. He recommended the sun dried tomato tapenade and omg that spread is a must and phenomenal! Service was fantastic and smooth. And it's a nice little quaint spot to check out! Shout out to Arturo again for making a bomb sandwich! Will definitely come back for food and vibes!

Quick take: ginormous flavorful sandwiches Very friendly service on an early Sunday morning. I can imagine this place getting crowded for the lunch rush. Ginormous yummy sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread. I went for the Chop Chop Sandwich. Just half a sandwich was super filling. Very yummy sun dried tomato spread, Ceasar dressing. Ordered with everything in it. Lots of flavor packed into each bite.

There's a Subway down the street and if you go there instead of Bonne Sante Broadway, do us all a favor and slap yourself. I had the Hottie Sandwich with everything on a soft French roll and it was arguably the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had, and I've had a lot of deli sandwiches in my life (peep my check-in history). The size of the sandwich was intimidating but I put my work in and demolished it, savoring every delicious bite. Don't get me started on their signature sun-dried tomato tapenade, chef's kiss. Definitely a local family friendly vibe and service was helpful and fast. Fortunately, I don't live too far away because I'm definitely going to become a regular!

Turkey and cranberry on Dutch Crunch, a little dry, just not the same Bonne Santé I remember from years ago

Return visit today to Bonne Santé, and the first surprise was that this place moved up and across the street. Truth be told, I had not been here since probably the 10s, when I used to work in town. The sandwiches then were huge, as big as your arm, soft french rolls or Dutch crunch, with great roasted meats, cheeses, and all sorts of tasty condiments. The sandwiches were so big and rich that I would take the second half home for dinner. Well, the sandwich today, a turkey and cranberry on Dutch Crunch, was also too big. But the fillings were markedly different. I faintly remember them using roasted (fresh) turkey slices and a tasty cranberry sauce, and, I believe a little bit of stuffing. There was also some kind of sauce because I recall that the sandwich had great flavor and just the slightest moistness. Instead I got deli turkey slices that were pretty cold, a smear of cranberry sauce (I did say 'light') that did nothing to really hold the sandwich together. Last time I recall that they used shredded lettuce, which blended nicely with the sandwich. Today's sandwich had very cold chopped romaine pieces that kind of fell out. The sauce was barely there, though it was vaguely mustardy. NB: Mustard and turkey do not go together. It turned out to be a fairly dry affair. My friend had a turkey on Dutch crunch. I assume he kind of enjoyed it, though he only ate half of it. At $13.50, it was, uh, just a tad pricey. We had a hankering for steak fries --at $6, expensive, and the pieces weren't that big. If you're gonna serve frozen taters, maybe rethink the price. Left a tip since the service was kind and prompt. That Dr Pepper can also felt good at the end. So, did the ownership change in moving from down the street to across from the Broadway Grill at 1431?

    Island Burger ($13.47)

The biggest standout for me with Bonne Sante Broadway is how friendly the customer service here. I was greeted with a smile the moment I walked in which is a big plus. This shop has been part of the Broadway, Burlingame area for decades so the interior is on the older side and bit dim, but it's still a comfortable vibe and the sandwiches are massive. I ordered the Island Burger ($13.47) with a dutch crunch and everything on it. I totally forgot to say no pickles so I had to pick them out, but the sandwich was really good. The patty was cooked medium, but wasn't dry. There was a generous amount of grilled onions and thousand island sauce. If that's your type of combo in a burger/sandwich hybrid then this is a good choice. I definitely want to try their other sandwiches in the future. This deli is certainly more of a hidden gem and I never really noticed this shop passing by most of the time, but the quality and great service makes it worth coming.

Very convenient location on Broadway in Burlingame. My spouse and I always split a Bacon Cheeseburger, it's portions are big enough to fill us both up and it's consistently the best burger in the area. Today we got their steak fries too and they were fresh to order. The staff are very friendly and outgoing. Vibes are your typical sports bar but a lot cleaner and friendlier. A must go if you're in the area and want something tasty and quick.

This place is a 10 out of 10! This deli on Broadway is a hidden gem, offering a variety of delicious, freshly made food. After walking by several times, today, I finally gave it a shot. I chatted with the local resident and owner Dan, who clearly takes pride in their establishment. What's better than having a beer with fries and a sandwich?so heavenly!

    Milano Sandwich

I hate giving local businesses bad reviews but I am compelled to share this as I have given this sandwich shop a few tries and each time I regret it and end up throwing out the massive sandwich. The reviews left do not properly speak to the actual food being put out. The only reason I am giving two stars is for the portion given relative to the price and that's it. I ordered a Milano sandwich today and my husband the smoker. We picked it up and walked our 5 minutes back to our home. By the time we opened up the sandwich to eat they were a soggy mess, dripping in oil. My sandwich had cooked prosciutto and salami!! Who does that? It made the meat hard, and just a salty piece of jerky- let alone it's unappealing gray color. Toast the bread, toast the bread with cheese but leave the Italian meat off the flat top! The Dutch crunch was soggy and laden with a pound of the olive spread that wasn't needed. I wanted so much to finally enjoy a sandwich from here but this will be the last time we will come.

Great food and friendly staff. I been here 5 times and always good great service. It is a family own business so you will get alot of food for the price. The place is clean. If you like sports this is a place to to for a beer and sandwiches. The fries were fresh like all the sandwiches.

If you are looking for a solid, tummy-filling sandwich in Burlingame, Bonne Sante straight hits! Great news, they are open for pickup/takeout and delivery! I've been to their 'new' location twice now, and every time I go, my eyes go straight to their burgers. A burger on a dutch crunch roll is always are recipe for deliciousness! The first time I went with the 'Wrangler' which is their beef patty topped with BBQ sauce, onion rings, cheddar cheese, and bacon. If you ever had a Carl's Jr western burger, it reminds me of that except WAY BETTER! Got it loaded up with everything, and finishing this in one sitting left me ready for a nice mid-afternoon nap. The second time around I went with the Island burger on dutch, and it's topped with caramelized onions, 1000 island, and cheddar cheese. Equally as delicious, and a must get if you like 1000 island on your burgers. Their sun-dried teppanade adds a nice touch that adds Bonne Sante's unique flavor to every sandwich you get here. You can easily turn these sandwiches into two meals! The burgers are cooked to medium/medium-well, which is good for burgers IMO (not if it was a steak though, med-rare, all day), since it holds it's shape. If you plan to visit, call in your order ahead of time. They are usually quick to get sandwiches made, and the staff is really cool! Highly recommend giving this place a try if you are in the Burlingame area.

The place is quite pretty. We opted for a small table outside , which is much quieter. Our waiter was a bit stiff around the collar. I suspect he is an old timer, and clearly, we are not regulars. Regardless, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable. The Food: Zucchini Cake, $15 - 4.5 Stars Menu: crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint-yogurt dressing These cakes are ball shaped, deep fried, and made a healthy veggie taste naughty type of good. Very yummy. Lol Tzatziki, $9 - 5 Stars Refreshing and delicious, the tzatziki is an excellent complement to the meal. Octopus, $19 - 5 Stars I really need to stop eating octopus, but when I am in a Greek or Spanish restaurant, I am weak. Grilled octopus legs are soooo good. Their version is grilled just right, not too much char, plus they smartly removed the hardened tips (common) before serving. See photo. Entrees did take a little while longer to be served but I don't blame the workers for the crowd. Service was attentive (server, food runners, & bussers). My drink: Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon red wine - rich, full bodied, mildly sweet with a smooth, long finish. Complimented my entree very well (lamb shank). No clash in taste going from eating to drinking. Appetizers: Calamari: Not a huge fan of calamari personally but it was okay. Crispy and chewy squid inside as expected. Greek fries: Typical fries. Crispy and garnished with 2 sauces. One has a mild spice. Nothing super special but it was good as a choice of "sides" from the menu that turned into an appetizer. Had some leftover for my entree that paired well with it actually. Zucchini cakes: crispy shell on the outside but a mushy, hashbrown-like inside of a flavorful mix of vegetables. Really enjoyed this one. Would recommend it. Entrees: Mine: Lamb Shank: soft, tender, the meat melts right off the bone. The sauce is amazing. Tasteful down to the garnish. There was one end that was super fatty and slimy and then different side of the same end that was really chewy like bubblegum but other than that, still my favorite dish from everyone else's. Glad I chose this. Fisherman's Pasta : the presentation is immaculate, very proportional ratio of seafood to the pasta. l like the variety but honestly, this dish is bland. Good thing I got the lamb shank! Arnisia Paidakia (Lamb Chops): Didn't eat but the person who ate it said it tastes good but kind of dry. What he enjoyed about it was that the rice was made of wheat & savory as well. Lobster Risotto - wasn't my personal order but I got to try a bite. Had some flavor and and enough meat from the tail to eat with the savory rice. Free birthday Baklava desert: Never had it before but I got a bite and liked it. Ended up giving the rest to everyone else. This place is good for its variety of choices so I may come back for the good food and atmosphere.
