We eat out several times per week, and I've never felt compelled to leave a review before. We waited 30 mins for our appetizers. That's ok...with restaurants just opening back up, we gave them that. But we waited another 30 minutes after we finished the appetizers for our entrees to start being served. START being the key word here. None of our entrees were even SERVED at the same time. They staggered out at about 10 minute intervals, with our server apologizing saying our entrees were "being given to other tables" Our last entree was brought out a full hour after the first. I asked for the manager. The manager never came although he/she did give us half off my entree. Wow...$5 off for a completely horrible experience!!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We went in ready to give them leeway, considering Covid, but came out with a sour taste in our mouths. read more

My wife and I ate here only because the other five restaurants were closed at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on a Monday. That same roll of paper towels on the sink in the men's restroom is still there brother half soaked with water lol. We had deep-fried mushroom appetizer which was delicious. I had a BLT that had three slices of bacon on it not stacked high like the menu says my wife's cheeseburger was dry and the onion rings were OK nothing special here but it was food and we were hungry. This place was busy due to all the other restaurants closed I'm sure and the owner just sitting at the bar drinking while the waitresses and the bartender who we think was the owners wife was working their butts off. Cute little place to watch football and grab a snack or beer. They have about four TVs and were very accommodating when we requested to have one change to a game we wanted to watch. The bartenders all were very attentive and worked very hard. The prices were reasonable. This used to be our favorite, but its gone downhill. The huge chicken wings shrank down to just average to small. The last two take-out orders I complained because I got no drumettes, just all flats. Telling me to come back a second time scores no points with me. Just a shame that the same problem that happened at Anthony's has spread. It just seems like both restaurants just dont care anymore. This place is one of my favorite places in town. They have friendly staff and live entertainment on the weekends. A nice big front porch to people watch and watch the train go by. We stopped in here since the brewery next door didn't have any food and we kind of needed to put something on our stomachs. That's about all we got from CJs. Half of my six wings were ice cold. How do you get half cold half warmish wings? The sauce was supposed to be Cajun garlic, but it sure tasted like basic buffalo. Pretty much everything was something I could pick up in the frozen aisle myself and then my wings would have all been the same temperature. Wish I would have done more research before I went here. After having a wonderful time on the Polar Express we want to grab something to eat. Went to Anthony's first but had a bit of a wait so we went to CJ Grill instead, later to realize that was my biggest regret of the weekend. I have never felt so uncomfortable and unwanted in my life. So we go in and sit at a table. 3 other tables sat after us within a 20 minutes period and immediately was greeted. I decided to ask the server who had the table next to us could she find out who has our table since we had yet to be greeted. She looked at me with a nasty look and said yeah. (Funny thing later to find out she was supposed to have us and just never wanted another table.) Ten more minutes passes by and that same server never told us anything. I decided to go up to the bar to grab someone. The saving grace was the bartender who ended up having to leave the bar area to take our table. She took our orders and was very apologetic for what had happen. In the middle of dinner my 2 year old had to go to the bathroom so as we were getting up the first server was standing at the corner and gave my daughter who is only 2 year old ugly staring look. Later on when I went to the bar to pay for our bill my daughter wanted to come with me so she was walking first where the same very rude server stood in front of my 2 year old just staring and would not move. It was so uncomfortable I'm not sure if she was drunk, high or maybe didn't like my biracial 2 year old. Unfortunately there is still small minded people in 2021. It so weird I wanted to say something to her personally but I knew she was looking for an argument even as a staff member and me being a customer. The owner of the place came by and asked how everything was and my mother process to let him know but told him we had already told the manager on duty and she is taking care of us. He process to tell us that "he doesn't know what is wrong with the staff today they seem confused". I was kinda took back he said that about his own staff. The bartender came over at the same time and the owner yelled "their complaining". Which she had already took our drink and food order and knew about the complaint. You could clearly tell they did not want any kids or tourist in that restaurant. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

My new favorite local joint! We sat at the bar and the staff and owners were very friendly! Definitely quick service too! The food was great comfort foods and they paired perfectly with our alcohol selection! I love nachos and theirs is the best I've had here! The corn dogs were really good too! This is a great place for bar food. This is the best place in Bryson City for fried dill pickles. Now, they make them in slices and that is fine for me. Some people only like spears, but I'll eat spears or slices. They make a mean BLT and a pretty good burger. The service from behind the bar is friendly. A pleasant change from their surly neighbors on both sides. It's more a place for locals than tourists, which is why if you visit Bryson City you should stop in CJ's for a bite and a brew. read more

We asked her to put the basketball game on and after trying to find it for several minutes, handed me the remote to continue trying to find it while she googled the information. While visiting I ate here several times and each and every time the employees from dishwashers to the owners were so friendly and accommodating. They love to have you leave happy. Food is really good. I ate the philly sandwich, blackened chicken sandwich, the blt and a burger and they were all cooked really well. Guys In the kitchen did a really good job and they looked pretty young so good job! Bartenders and servers were also very nice and good st their jobs. Got to talk with the owner as well and he was extremely friendly and appreciated us stoping in. It was nice to hear how sincere he seemed. Def wanna send people his way. Went out for A day date with my husband, decided to try something new , drive 1 hour to get here....The food and 1 bottled beer was decent.... we sat for an hour and had to listen to the bartender and another employee loudly bash another employee that had recently left. So loud, so trashy. Neglected service to us and other patrons so they could continue loudly bashing another employee together... took 40 minutes for a salad and a BLT and the place was not close to being busy. We are both in food service as well, as a bartender and waiter and it was pretty ridiculous.... my husband very nicely asked for honey mustard ...twice, and the bartender came by without saying a word and threw it on the other end of the table?! We are always super nice to our fellow employees in the service industry... and have never been treated with such disregard.... only giving two stars for the cook because the food was decent even though it's hard to mess up and house salad and a BLT ... not sure why it took 40 minutes at a non busy time?
