    Napa Chicken Panini
    Jan L.

We were Hungry. We found this place tucked away in a small, newer retail outdoor area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in to see plenty of indoor seats, very open and the cook working the counter was SO nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Menu has a large variety. I ordered the Basil Panini and my mom ordered the Napa chicken panini that had mushrooms. Hers looked very good and mine was AMAZING! We will return for sure! If you drive through or near Moorpark - I recommend finding this little gem. It's located in the retail area West of Target and in the center where Amazon market is located.

Basil chicken panini- Ciabatta bread, grilled chicken breast, pesto mayo, tomato, mozzarella cheese, romaine.

2nd time visiting with my boyfriend. Service was nice and fast. Food was hot and delicious. :)

    "Crispy" chicken

Tastes okay but full of lettuce. Chicken texture feels processed. $17 for this is crazy even in this economy

    6:40 Friday evening.

This review is only based upon their service, or lack there of. For the last 20 plus years going back when they were part of the franchise "Camille's", I have ordered Tuscan tomato soup for my better half. I would go out and get my meal and swing back to CJs, for the soup. Tonight at 6:40 pm on a Friday evening, they were not serving customers. Sadly this has happened no less than a dozen times to me, that CJs is randomly closed for the evening. Usually I can see the owner in the back, cleaning and ignoring or just oblivious to me or anyone else trying to get a meal. Initially the soup was $7.00, now it's $9.00. If you do the math based upon going there once a month, sometimes I went more than once a month , it's a few grand. Depressing. I'm not proud to admit that I've patronized CJs even though the multiple times they were closed outside of their posted hours. Tonight I did try calling from outside the restaurant, and still ignored. Thank you for the soup in the past, I'm done trying to guess if you will be open in the future.

    Spicy Chicken Strip Wrap

I came here with a couple friends for some brunch our usual spot was closed on Monday's so I found this little place and I am so sad I didn't know about this place sooner This cafe has very low traffic for how great the food was we ordered a Napa Chicken Panini, Turkey Pretzel Roll, and a spicy chicken strip wrap. Everyone was satisfied no bad opinions it was all delicious. Our food came out so fast and the service was great they brought it to our table made sure we had everything we needed just overall great experience. I'm definitely coming back here

Wow! Went with a few friends, hungry after class and this made our day. Not sure who was working, but this gentleman was so quick and kind during his service. He served us all at the same time, in a timely manner, and checked on us too! The food was incredibly flavorful and crisp, we all shared around the table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not to mention, the place is very clean and decorated to create a calm comfortable space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also the menu is quite endless, so we will be back trying new things!

    Matcha blended and hazelnut blended

Parking: no need for street parking, they are located in a plaza with lots of parking space Customer service: everyone was nice and helpful in helping my party and I order. They are short staffed (as stated on their register) but did their best to help us and other customers Paninis: the Napa chicken panini was my favorite. It had the right amount of sauce and crunch to it. I wanted to try their soup of the day (chicken panbpano) which was tasty. I was able to make it a combo by ordering "your two picks." As for the ham and Swiss panini, the pesto made it more delicious. My friend and I were very pleased with our panini and would recommend this place to anyone craving a sandwich or wants to try something new. Drinks: what's cool about this place is their coffee is from coffee bean. It's a two in one place and the drinks taste just like you would expect it. I ordered a large for the hazelnut and matcha blended with caffeine. Overall very happy with my experience

We honestly were not sure if we wanted to make the drive to Moorpark again, but given Phil's extended efforts, we felt it was only right to give Freda's another try. Our last visit was during Mother's Day weekend, so we thought to come for brunch on Father's Day. It was busy when we arrived, but the host team managed the flow of customers very well. While being seated, the timing of the next reservation was mentioned, allotting an hour and a half for our time there. This was more than enough, and we were graciously thanked for our understanding. Shortly after, Danielle came to greet us, apologized for the previous dining experience and showed sincere appreciation for having us again. We had two servers for our section, Nathan being our primary one, but as before, we felt the entire team worked exceptionally well in taking care of customers. We started with the Focaccia Rustico which was the best part of our last meal. This arrived heavily toasted. We prefer the softer version from our dinner, but it was still very good. The husband was eager to try the French Dip, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The au jus was flavorful, along with the horseradish spread. The fries were, hot, crisp and nicely seasoned. I ordered the Dutch Baby. It arrived freshly made in the cast iron pan, with sides of butter, syrup and berry compote. This was my first time having the German pancake and it was delicious! It will now be on my radar when having brunch elsewhere, but Freda's is the standard that others will follow. Team members checked on us often, as they did with other customers. Danielle stopped by a couple more times. We were thanked again, as we left, for giving them another chance. It was a great experience from beginning to end and a testament to Freda's dedication to customer satisfaction. We'll be back. :)

We tried the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, Meatballs, French Dip and Mediterranean Chicken, and a mimosa. The meatballs were about the size of a golf ball. After cutting it in half the center looked firm and somewhat dry. It tasted a bit bland but after putting extra marinara sauce on it greatly improved the taste. The shrimp was ok but it did not stand out. The portions of both seemed small, probably adjusted due to the special menu. The bread that came with the dishes were good, warm and toasty. I really enjoyed the French Dip, the prime rib was tender, and the au jus and horseradish sauce enhanced the flavor. However the horseradish sauce didn't have the kick I was anticipating, so maybe more "horse" or more "radish"? Mediterranean chicken was also delicious. The fries were thin and crispy. Mimosa was refreshing. Service was great, our server Stephen was attentive and checked on us often. Overall it was an enjoyable first experience.

First, the staff are all so kind and welcoming. You feel like you are having dinner in someone's living room. It is so beautiful and cozy and warm. Perfect for a date night! Next time, may order two of one dish. We got the cucumber herb salad, the potatoes gravas, the elote corn, the flank steak, and the summer margarita pizza. All were fantastic. Next time, we'll get more than one pizza and may skip the flank steak. For dessert we had the cookie with gelato (gelato is SO GOOD) and the pop tart. You must get the pop tart!!!!! It is sooooo good and so unique. Overall, we can't wait to return and take pictures next time!

I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

They do take a while to make the food when you order ahead, so I usually order at least 25 minutes in advance of pick up time when taking out. When eating in, they make it pretty quickly. The one thing that would keep me from leaving 5 stars is because the past few times that we have eaten in here, I have noticed that the music playing really isn't appropriate, in my opinion. It is an eclectic mix of all kinds of random songs from the 80's and 90's to the current hits and songs from 10 years ago. That isn't what bothered me though. What bothered me is I don't think some of the songs that play are appropriate- like hearing "S*x and Candy," Pink's song where she says, "They'll be kissing my a**," and the last word was not censored, and then today hearing a song with lyrics, "girls in the boys room, boys in the girls room; free your mind and you'll be androgynous." Like; what? I'm just trying to have my hummus and my 2 year old kid is here. The music isn't quiet and in the background- you certainly hear it while you're in there! Music like that does not seem family oriented. I thought of how much better it would be if this place played Greek language music, like acoustic songs, or just something consistent and peaceful to really give the Mediterranean ambiance. I'm not one to nit pick about the music that is playing at every restaurant that I eat at, but when I'm with my baby and I hear inappropriate things like that, it bothers me. I wonder if the owner would ever consider changing the music. That is all!

A huge sandwich indeed, but after several bites around the outside of it I realized it was left in the fryer too long, hard on the outside and the meat was dry and tough. The bun seemed old because it started falling apart. Very disappointing, didn't really eat much of it. When our server Jorge came to the table and asked if we wanted boxes to take the rest of it home it told him not necessary, when I mentioned to him that the chicken was overcooked and was like shoe leather you would think their would be some response.
