Encouraged by the positive reviews, we went there for my birthday. It was mid-week and perhaps they were off their game. The staff and chef were extremely nice and they comped our dessert for my b-day. Thank you! We started with martinis (so-so), the lobster & fried clam sliders, and the crispy brussel sprouts. The sliders came with fries that were coated/crispy, I suspect food service fries from Sysco. The sliders were bland and not very good (fishy tasting clams). The sprouts were great. Next were the salads, a house and caesar salad, both were soggy and the house seemed like the romaine was grilled? Not good. Next were the entrees the hangar steak and pork chop. Both were tasty, the pork chop in particular was fantastic. The chocolate cake had an odd flavor, tasted moldy so we picked at the frosting. Nice folks but not very good for a $200 tab. read more

We were staying at this hotel and decided to come down for breakfast, and let me tell you this place was DELICIOUS. The waitress was so nice and very friendly and definitely deserved a big tip! If you and your family are here at this hotel or in the city, this is the place to go if you want good food! read more

A real surprise! This place was located in the first floor of the Double Tree Hotel. We were there for Sunday brunch and ordered off the brunch menu. Excellent choices as well as mimosa and good coffee! Recommend highly, especially since it's hard to find places to eat in this area on a Sunday... read more

Enjoyed dinner last night at Claraboya and it was incredible. You'd never know this gem was sitting inside of a Double Tree off of Avenue Q. Such a pleasant surprise! Really modern and beautiful on the inside. Of course it is located inside of a hotel, after all and the restaurant is somewhat near the indoor pool... So, you will see families passing by in swimsuits and towels - if that would "dampen" the experience/ambience for you, maybe try to make sure your table is tucked away in one of the north corners at the back of the dining room. Riley was our server and he was excellent. We'll be sure to ask for a reservation in his section when we return in the future. Our group had the bison filet, shrimp and grits, and cajun pasta. All of which were a 10/10. I've lived in Lubbock my entire life and this is definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had here. Felt something you'd find in Dallas or Denver. We also ordered drinks - the pineapple margarita was delicious (and strong) and the chilton's were great as well. Coconut tres leches for dessert was heavenly, too. Definitely prepare yourself for the bill though... The money you'll drop here is very atypical for dining out in the Lubbock area, but the food, service, and experience definitely make it worth the money IMO.They also went out of their way to acknowledge and make the birthday of the friend we were celebrating at dinner very special! 21Nov2021. Holy Cow. We had some Diamond $$ credit at the DoubleTree Hotel and were not allowed to use it at the little shop next to check-in and we needed to get on the road, so we asked the in-house Claraboya Scratch Kitchen if they could do us up a couple of breakfast sandwiches to go, and we were pleasantly shocked when we got down the road 10 miles and saw just how fantastic these breakfast sandwiches were. We had egg, cheese, bacon, salmon, and tomato, on well toasted and buttered bread, full size sandwiches cut into two triangles! And the wait girl at the restaurant was so pleasant and prompt with our order. She said 'my job is to make the customers happy'. Now, just how often do we get this great attitude these days? And, we had wine there the night before, and again the staff was super friendly and accommodating. So, when staying at the DoubleTree or if you are a nearby resident, put this establishment on your list ! I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the great quality of food and service, and will be happy to know you have to have this great little gem nearby. read more

This restaurant doesn't offer many vegan breakfast options other than the usual cold avocado toast and a selection of potatoes. It would have been nice to have taken my wife to a classy restaurant with selections of hot vegan breakfasts. I am not a vegan and ordered biscuit and gravy, soft scrambled eggs and sausage. The sausage was the only thing right in the order. the biscuits and gravy were horrible. The gravy taste like flour and the biscuits appeared to be day old biscuits they were hard and crumbly, I did not finish them. I asked for soft scrambled eggs, batch eggs can not be soft scrambled and after two attempts at ordering the eggs I had to ask for fresh cracked soft scrambled eggs. My wife was sorely disappointed and was in tears as she discussed her disappointment with the restaurant . The time from ordering and receiving this simple order was over thirty minutes with less than 15 customers and one table was 10 of the fifteen. to make matters worst customers that came in after us received their orders first and within 15 minutes.
