Walp, I'm going to have to dock a star. First off, it's complicated to try to make a reservation for 8 or more people. It was 4-5 days of back and forth phone calls just to get information. They will not reserve this size table (10 people) in the main dining area. There is the private Whiskey Room, which is perfect, but has a minimum $750 required. Note that every time I've been here, that room is empty so it's not like it's a huge demand. My problem is that 8 adults (2 who can't drink) + 2 toddlers will likely not spend $750 minimum. What's the end result? Sorry, go somewhere else. My probably $600 bill just isn't good enough. Not for the dining room and not for the Whiskey Room. Noted! read more

Visiting St. Louis for a conference and happened to check out this restaurant in the hotel. Luckily we didn't have to worry about parking, but for those that drive I'd be prepared to park. The ambiance is classic, cozy, and upscale. Our server Zi was PHENOMENAL! She was so helpful with our order and attentive. The chicken fried lobster was OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was cooked perfectly. The right amount of batter, not greasy, juicy lobster on the inside, and really hit the spot. The lobster tails are large! So this is a good sharing appetizer. The short rib pasta was pretty good, but could've used more salt and flavor. The ribeye was cooked fine, but also lacked flavor. The steakhouse mashed potatoes were by far the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten out. Creamy, velvety, flavorful, rich. The bone marrow really leveled up this dish. Now, we ended with the ooey gooey butter cake. When I first seen it, I thought it looked dry and bland. OH MY GOODNESS!! It was soft, buttery, and truly lived up to its ooey gooey name. While staying at the Live! by Loew's, had the opportunity to have drinks and eats here. Their Bourbon selection is crazy! Everything you think you wanna taste from the Bourbon world they have it. Now granted, some of the higher end options are gonna cost you, but at least you can say you did it. They have patio and inside options available for seating. Wings... get them!! The Buffalo and the Korean are both awesome and they the blue cheese and ranch were great accompaniments for dipping. Don't go for the food, it's standard hotel restaurant food. BUT their Bourbon selection is impressive. Yes, some can be pricey but they also have some great deals on pours. Bottles are always changing, so go into the bottle room and look around. I got a Penelope Barrel Proof pour for $15 which was an outstanding price in thought. Bars with great selections like this are not easy to find and they give you a chance to taste without spending on a bottle. I tried Makers 46 which a friend likes and thought it was only okay. Saved me a bottle purchase to try it. They had a Weller FP barrel pick out for $65, which is is a lot for a single pour but so hard to find it might be worth it for some. Service: Something to be desired -- brand new, so lots of kinks to still work out, slower than expected but friendly. The server didn't know the menu so when we had questions, she had to go clarify and get answers. Apologized for delays. Food & Drinks: The Good -- I had the Panic in Ozark cocktail which was light and refreshing, and lots of mint! The crab cakes had a good flavor, fluffy and were paired with a tangy remoulade. For an entree I got the truffle tagliatelle which was well executed and very good, but let me say I really love anything that has truffles. To whom it may concern, I want to bring to your attention one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had, much less on Mothers Day of all times. We arrived at our 10:45am time slot, were promptly seated and ordered drinks, an app and then finally brunch. There were five of us total, when our food got brought out. Only two of the five plates didn't have something wrong with their meal. Three of our meals were messed up including, my chicken and waffles came with raw/undercooked chicken and poached eggs that were rock hard and instead of being gooey like it should be, I promptly sent it back. My step son also got the hard poached egg on hit avo toast and finally the person of honor my wife, her plate was also sent back as she asked to have the overly sweet holidays sauce (she could tell from the description) on the side instead of on the meal so we also sent that plate back as well. As you can imagine the shock when a restaurant that can't seem to do the basics right especially when there we only like 5 other tables full, they weren't overwhelmed, if anything they were overstaffed and just under trained and didn't care. Well I wish it ended there, about 25-30 mins later when three of my family were already done eating, I finally, finally got my replacement chicken and waffles and were told my wife's food would be out shortly, well another 20 mins later her food did come out. At this time everyone has been done for nearly an hour, except me who is being polite and waiting for my wife to get her food before eating mine. By the time she got her meal mine was ice cold and we had all been sitting there way way too long. I am not sure why you are not prioritizing the meals you screwed up to come out right away like every other smart restaurant, what you did was put it at the bottom of the order stack. Very unprofessional. We called over a manager who was very polite but blamed the server for not putting in the right order for my wife, as you can imagine from a management standpoint throwing another employee under the bus makes you look under trained and inexperienced and a whole lot of sloppy. But did not mention how they messed up the other meals nor why it was taking so long. Honestly the server was the only highlight of the experience, so throwing her under the bus was pretty messy. We were so turned off by an upset that combined my wife and I had 2-3 bites of food and completely turned off by the carless experience. The manager credit us two of the meals however with such a cluster fuck that whole meal or at least the food should have been comped after the horrible Spector of a food experienced we had. Here we are with mud on our faces leaving with well over a $250 bill and two people walked away with no food and a very upset wife on mothers day. I don't even care about the price of the food but when you have a shitty experience it is like pouring salt on a wound. I planned on blasting this on every review website and social media but figured I would let you know before I did that. You guys have some major work to do on your staff. read more

Their happy hour is decent: specials on beer and house wine plus 1 cocktail. And they offer happy hour specials on appetizers. Service was very good. Refuse to answer their phone. Four times in the past year I've been to St Louis for work. The first time I stayed at Loews and was blown away at how delicious the breakfast is here. The other times I've stayed at four seasons and went to call and place a to-go order to no answer. Two of the times I called three times each to get someone to answer. No answer. Once I even called an Uber just to go there and get the breakfast only to find out they stopped serving the breakfast at a certain time, none of which is displayed on their website. Of course I would call to find out this information, but they don't answer their phones. Last chance saloon for this place. Okkkk we were staying here for Memorial Day Weekend for a Baecation. The location is nice especially if you like baseball and even if you don't. We grabbed breakfast this morning here. I will warn you, we waited about 15-20 mins around 9:45 am for a table (it's a game day and there were only 3 tables being served). So that is why it's not 5 stars. The food however is phenomenal!!! They were out of the cinnamon roll. So we split the French toast and it was so good! I love the spin on this especially the crunch of the banana chips on top. It was the perfect amount of sweet. It tasted gourmet. I got the avocado Benedict and it was really good. The side potatoes were also delicious. And they serve it with a nice amount of ketchup. I also enjoyed the coffee. Fresh cream and sugar were already on the table. I've been impressed with the food in St. Louis (coming from Chicago's amazing food scene). I hope they get more staff to help with reducing wait time. But otherwise, delicious food :) and it's right across from the stadium. The ambience with the fire and the chill beats relaxed me. Overall though- really poor management- and also disappointing they didn't have mimosas listed on the menu (they do have a full bar and you can order them, it's just not listed). read more

We were very excited to try this place but I must say it was very disappointing. We placed a to go order ( French onion dip, NY Strip, Asparagus, Brussels sprouts and fries). I did not have to wait upon arrival, however they placed everything we ordered in one small bag where the Brussels sprouts container was placed side ways and the excess sauce leaked all over the bag. In addition, we received 6 pieces of asparagus for $8! Are you kidding me?! The onion dip tasted no different than what I could make at home and the chips that came it with might as well have been covered entirely with seasoned salt. I like the vibe here. Very close to the stadium and I like how it opens up to be "indoor/outdoor". I got the bone-in filet. It was very good. It came with a small portion of green beans and potatoes. However, our server was very slow (18 minutes from when we sat down to when we were able to order our drinks). We were one of 4 tables sat in the entire place. It was also uncomfortably cold inside. However, the food was good, everyone was nice, and the chef also brought us out a free lobster ravioli appetizer when he saw we hadn't ordered much food for the table (we were mostly just chatting and drinking wine!). Wow what a beautiful spot inside the Loew's hotel. I happened upon it and was very impressed from start to finish. The decor is elegant yet comfortable with a variety of cozy sofa seats, high tops, armchairs by a fireplace, traditional table and chairs plus outdoor patio seating. There are lots of TVs for watching the game but not in an obnoxious way. But let's talk about the private whiskey room! This incredible space is lined to the ceiling with bottles of whiskey and bourbon available for tasting with a table in the center. I cannot wait to host a small group event in this room. They offer a creative cocktail list, lots of wine by the bottle and of course many bourbon options. I had cocktail with rum, banana and coffee. How do you pass up something that unusual! It was a great balance of flavors, potent, with a huge ice cube. I really enjoyed it, though 1 was enough. The only food we ordered was the lobster dumplings, which were very good and I could actually taste the lobster! Looking forward to coming back for a full meal. I hate that this location has been somewhat neglected in the covid world meaning most St. Louisans have missed it and the hotel guests are the ones getting to know about this fabulous spot before us. We didn't get to try any food because we wanted to go out for dinner, but there were definitely some items on the menu I would have liked to try. GREAT! We stayed at the Loews in the building and ate here our first night while it was raining (thunderstorm finally finished up) with our dog. We had different plans at first but with the weather we couldn't do the patio we originally planned and didn't want to leave the pup upstairs. Asked if he was allowed to join us on the covered patio and they said absolutely! We sat outside at the bar where it was fully covered and dry! Everyone there was SO nice. The food was shockingly delicious and we wound up very happy the rain cancelled our original plans! We ordered dessert another night during the stay and got drinks down there every night! We tried a lot of things- smoked French onion dip, Asian inspired pork belly special, lobster dumplings, Spanish prosciutto, Caesar salad, bone-in filet, salmon, bone-in ribeye, truffle Mac and cheese, herbed potatoes, and honey carrots. It was all phenomenal. Like, outstanding. Perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. We are already excited to come back here. The dirty martinis were top notch too! The service was thoughtful.
