I had a great experience with Makoto up here in Oceanside. We had a swarm of bees in our chimney, and he was able to explain on the phone the process it's take to remove them. He understood that I wanted to contact bee keepers first. He wasn't pushy or annoyed. I really appreciated that. When the bee keepers weee booked for weeks, Makoto came over right away to access the situation. He was almost 100% sure just by looking at the top of the chimney that the bees had moved on, but he went ahead and climbed up his tall ladder to double check for me. Luckily, they had left. They were just resting. Anyway, his willingness to get the job done and with a smile was stellar. We will definitely contact him for all pest issues in the future. read more

I'm getting the rodent service done. For the first month they come once a week. At first I didn't have a good impression. The person that now services my house was on vacation so I had a different person come for each of my first two services. It felt like they really half did the job. After the first service I still had a bunch of spider webs around my house. I had asked her specifically if she could do our playground and trampoline and I noticed she didn't at all when she left. Once our usual person came back, Oscar, I was so pleasantly surprised at how great he was. He actually listened to me when I told him where rodent activity is. I told the first 2 people that there was activity in the attic and they didn't set any traps there (the first didn't even look). But Oscar actual did. Today he came just for a trap check but he ended up doing that and getting all the spider webs everywhere including the playground and trampoline. I didn't even have to ask him to do that. He's also so kind and knowledgeable. If I were his employer, that's the kind of person I would want working for me. He completely shifted my perspective on this company. WORST COMPANY IN SAN DIEGO. I was fed up with paying more for pest control so I decided to go with Clark. What a mistake. They were great at first but after a very short time, I started noticing problems around the house. Once I was finally sick of dealing with pest control that should be getting handled by professionals, I had: 1. picked 4 ticks off my dog 2. dealt with two flea battles 3. discovered a huge ant problem that led to them getting into my kitchen and baths. 4. killed three baby rats that had gotten into my garage. 5. cleared spider webs around the house countless times. My daughters nanny was aware of my frustrations and one day she saw somebody show up and clock in their face time on my property. She questioned him regarding the lack of service and he stated that the previous "technician" had been not making his rounds and had been fired. This new "technician" only showed a few more times and again the same thing happened...No Show. They never forget to bill you on time though--this is for sure. I started to refuse to pay $190.00 bill in the end-- a small price to eat for a company that is clearly falling short of the promise they made. I was contacted by their "customer service" department to whom I explained why I was refusing to pay. After being told that my statements were not true and only one "technician" ever serviced my house she summarized her rebuttal by telling me, "you should just be an adult and pay your bill." They are making threats to report nonpayment to the credit bureau even. Unbelievable. if this experience doesn't convince you to shop elsewhere for pest control service. just look at one of their trucks as they drive down the road. The old saying, "a mechanic is only as good as his shop" definitely holds true here. their trucks are beat up and just as sloppy looking as their employees. RARELY IS A FREE ESTIMATE TRULY FREE! We have never needed pest control services before...but today we did. Clark Pest control did not disappoint! They came out right away within in an hour or so of us calling. Casey was professional, polite, wore a mask, and practiced social distancing. He assessed the situation and quoted a fair price to deal with the rats harboring in our garage. In the end we decided to try and handle the modifications required to shut the rats out of the space ourselves. If we fail we will not hesitate to call Clark Pest Control! Followup from my fiasco... THE PROBLEM... When we had clarks come out to spray for spiders, we ordered a specific Botanical product for them to spray on the inside. To our dismay when I called to verify after they serviced our house, I discovered that the technician sprayed another synthetic chemical that we didn't want... THE FIX... I get a call from Ian Clark on Saturday and he apologized for the mishap, he also refunded our money, and to top it all off he sent one of his supervisors over who scrubbed on his hands and knees all of the areas the tech sprayed with the wrong product. MY THOUGHTS... Unfortunately, in any business, there is in occasional, inevitable miscommunication and we just happen to be the victim in this case. However, I have to say I am impressed with their willingness to make the wrong right, and hold up their reputation for being a "customer service" oriented company, which i have to say they did quite well... WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM? Yes...We canceled our service contract simply because they no longer carry the specific product we want... but I would recommend them to anyone with spiders because they fixed our spider problem. I have been using Clark Pest Control for over 10 years. When we lived in Victorville we had the same employee, a friendly woman. In our Apple Valley house, we have also had the same employee, a young man, spray each time. He is very thorough, friendly and patient with all my questions about different bugs. The monthly fee is very affordable and worth it! They will come out as many times as we need, with no extra fee. Before going with Clark Pest Control our house would get invaded by ants every summer. We used Clark's Pest control for years and were always happy but over the last six months their service has gone down hill. We live near the coast so there are rats in our yard consistently as they come from the cliffs across the street. Clark was always able to keep them under control using their rat bait traps but this summer the rats ate all our tomatoes. When we called to have them check this out, they said the bait traps were empty. Well, apparently the person who was supposed to service the traps didn't keep bait in them. The situation has gone from bad to worse. Last week we had a HUGE rat inside our house. We called Clark but they couldn't even come for 2 days. No one wants to live in a house for 2 days with a huge rat in it. When they came they did a cursory look and decided the rat came in through our courtyard doors which are the same doors we've had for twenty years and that there was no evidence of any rats in the garage. When I read their report, it said that they had not checked the rat bait traps and that the traps were empty although this is the month I pay for rat bait trap service. Hmmm, perhaps that's why I have a problem. The next day we got a handyman here who actually did a search and found that the rats were getting into the house through a loose screen in the crawl space and that there were rat droppings in the garage where the rats had chewed the weather strip at the bottom of the entrance door. He sealed up both these entrances and put in rat bait. Isn't that what I pay Clark to do? Anyway, we're on the hunt for a new service. I hope this review was helpful read more

We had a clear outline of how to get prepared for the tenting that would get rid of our bedbugs. They were ready to go when we decided to do it. When we got back in our home we discovered they had taken the time to secure our food bags with tape - something we had neglected to do. In opening our cupboard they discovered many items we had neglected to bag. They took the time to collect and bag these for us. They even saved the medication we mistakenly had left right by the door on our way out. We are very pleased with the service we got from the team at Clark. read more

I have been using Clark for 6 years and I have had Lindsey as my favorite technician. She's very detailed and answers my texts. When ever I see anything that I don't know what it is I can text Lindsey and she will tell me what it is. If I see any ants or spiders I just text her and she will come out and retreat for free. She handles my rat and mouse bait stations all included with my service. Before I had used Clark I had other companies charge me for each bait station. Clark includes this in their service. Lindsay clears all the cobwebs on my eaves and my fence. I couldn't be happier. read more

I am furious (FURIOUS!) with this company. I cancelled service in 2016 as we received a bill for service that was never provided. I tried to work it out with them, got nowhere, cancelled service and hired a competing company. 2 years later I get a notice from collections? Nothing in between. No bill, nothing. The office staff are authorized to do nothing so they are no help. The collection company has no details on the account so they can't help. This is straight theft. Had this company for pest control for several years. Service was great at first, but the last year has been a nightmare. For most appointments I made for gopher or bug service, they didn't even show up. No one called to let me know or reschedule, I always had to follow up and reschedule myself. Even new appointments I made were missed. I used to get a postcard telling me when the regularly scheduled treatments would be, but this year - nothing. I received 2 printed receipts this year (they used to leave them after doing any kind of service), so I have no way of knowing if they even showed up to do the regularly scheduled treatments (I suspect not). One tech showed up out of the blue, and when I told him I had gopher issues, he just did the regularly scheduled treatment (no gopher) and left. When I called to find out why he did nothing about the gophers, I was told he didn't have the stuff in his truck, and I was supposed to call for another appointment for a separate treatment. I asked how I was supposed to know that when I don't get printed receipts anymore, and was told the guy didn't have a printer in his truck. He never showed for the follow up appointment either. So, no supplies for a home that regularly needs gopher treatment, no printer to let me know what to do, and zero effort to communicate from the technician or company. And yet, they don't seem to have any problems when it comes to collecting payment - even though at the end we were literally paying for nothing but frustration. I don't know why the service has taken such a nose dive, but I'm so happy to be done dealing with this place, and look forward to never having to deal with them again after canceling the service. read more

I personally had a fantastic experience with Cheryl from Clark's today. I've been experiencing what I think may be bedbug bites (welp!?!) after a getaway in Vegas a few weeks ago, and totally freaked myself out after doing some research on the web. I called this morning around 9AM and was told that someone would call me back to schedule a free home inspection. I was pleasantly surprised when Cheryl did, in fact, call me shortly - within 15 minutes, actually - and scheduled an appointment for 11:30 the same day. When Cheryl arrived at my home, she was dressed in uniform and driving a company vehicle - easily identifiable - which I count as a plus. Nothing worse than expecting a professional who shows up in a beat-up '97 Toyota Corolla with a Grateful Dead bumper sticker, right?! Anyway, she greeted me and was incredibly cordial. She waited while I ushered my dog onto the porch and came in only after I invited her. I first showed her some of the bites on my back, which we discussed briefly. She admitted that she could neither confirm nor deny that the "bites" were of bedbug origin and suggested that I see a doctor. I appreciated her honesty - she certainly could have told me that my suspicions were correct, thus encouraging me to purchase services that I might not need. I showed her into my bedroom where she thoroughly inspected the entire perimeter of my bed, pulling it away from the wall and inspecting both above the sheets and below, as well as under the mattress protector and bed skirt. She did the same in my spare bedroom even though I told her that it's a rarity to have someone sleeping there. After her examination she answered a bunch of questions for me: Could my recently adopted cat have transported bedbugs in? No. Could the bugs be crawling from my filthy neighbor's apartment through the wall into mine? No. Could I have picked them up in Vegas and brought them home? Definitely. Should I strip my bed and wash everything immediately? Yes, and dry it on high heat for 45 minutes. The end result of the inspection was that there was no evidence of bedbugs to be found. She informed me of the warning signs and gave me some tips on how to help prevent infestation. She told me that I should continue to check, using the techniques she taught me, and definitely call her I saw any signs - she said she'd be happy to return if I had any concerns. Cheryl was genuinely concerned about my anxiety level and truly educated me on bedbugs while she was in my home. She told me a story of how she and the Clark company helped a family to overcome an infestation and made me feel much more at ease. She didn't try to sell me any services, though I was about ready to demand them this morning, just to give myself some peach of mind! If I do encounter future issues after taking the action steps she suggested, I will absolutely be calling Cheryl and Clark Pest Control to come back. read more

I am surprised that this company has received such bad reviews. After reading them, I almost didn't call this company, but I am glad I did. I called because I suspected I had bed bugs (and I was FREAKING OUT!!!). I spoke with Cynthia (sp?). What a great lady!! Very knowledgable, understanding and professional. It was a relief just talking with her. She scheduled my inspection for the next day. The tech showed up the next day. He called and asked if he could show up an hour early since he was ahead of schedule, which was fine with me (who of us doesn't want to wrap up our work day early if we can?). I am really, really bad with names and am soooooo sorry I can't remember his; but he was great also. He was also extremely knowledgable, understanding, professional and patient with my million questions. He thoroughly inspected my mattress, box spring, bed frame, outlets and moldings. He didn't find bed bugs, but found carpet beetles! Definitely a relief. Also, the company definitely could have taken advantage and said I had bed bugs, but didn't. I am still a little paranoid, so he is going to come by next week as a follow up, just to make sure. A lot of the bad reviews I saw had to do with scheduling, I didn't have that problem. And we all know it can be a hassle to schedule with ANY company that operates with field techs. My advice, if you have problems like that, report it to the office. Don't wait until you are fed up and p****d off. That way the company can identify a problem and correct it. I would highly recommend this company. Look at that tent, it's beautiful; no sags, bags, or wrinkles. But it almost didn't get done because bagging of ingestible items not acceptable. IMPORTANT: Actual tenting & gassing done by 3rd party vendor hired by Clark or whoever you contract with. In this case tenting/fumigating by Quality Pest Services & they're license is on line re checking bagging before gassing. They are there to put up a huge tent, not correct bagging problems. It's for Clark's (or whoever) sales rep to make sure you know how to bag properly re CA Dept of Agriculture. Remember, your sales rep w/ not be w/ you at tenting when you are frantically trying to fix problems with bags so gassing can start. YOUR RELEASE FORMS ARE YOUR LEVERAGE TO MAKE SURE SALES REP DEMONSTRATES FOR YOU AT YOUR HOME OR OFFICE EXACTLY HOW TO PREPARE BAGS BY ACTUALLY PREPARING ONE. DO NOT GIVE BACK RELEASE FORMS UNTIL THEY DO THAT FOR YOU. Do not let them direct you to an unaffiliated pdf.file prepared by someone else & not up to date. Keep the sample he gives you for reference. Clark provides the bags but NOT the closures. Duct tape or wide masking tape best to make the all-important goose neck. Ask rep. The sales rep's job is more than just getting signature on contract - so make him earn commission giving you time & info you need for success. Would Hurvey, my rep, have done this for me - sure, he probably would have IF I HAD KNOWN TO ASK. Would I use Clark again, sure - they had enough sense to hire Quality. That's the best-looking tent I've ever seen. Note: You will give fumigators your or tenants keys that they will leave on sink when finished - even if you're standing there. It's procedure where tenants involved anyway. So, you'll need another set to retrieve key inside unit &, also, to open for SDGE. read more

We've been using Clark Pest Control for several years now. We've had them do our termite treatment as well as attic insulation. We currently have Justin Chapman as our routine service man. Justin is awesome! He does our routine maintenance and he is always ready to work! He cleans out all the spider webs, sprays everywhere around the house for those box elder bugs and now he catches those pesky gophers for us. I have to say, I've seen him catch a few gophers in record time... less than 5 mins at one point. Amazing! Justin is a great worker and it is always a pleasure having him service our house. Do NOT use Clark pest control. We used them during a house remodel in late July. Not only did they take a take a ladder from the job site, during the prep work they showed up un-announced and proceeded to destroy our drip irrigation system while haplessly moving plants away from the house. This was done unannounced or asked for as I was planning on doing the prep work in order to ensure proper care and movement of our plants. When I confronted them about using and taking the job site ladder while sending them site SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE of them clearly taking the ladders on the site, Mike Hansen (our site tech) refused to take responsibility for it. I made multiple calls to Mike, his supervisor Joe to resolve the issue and they proceeded to not call me back. There was no effort to resolve this situation or even acknowledge what they had done. Not only was this horrible service, its very scary that you cannot trust this company in your home un supervised. I'll also be filing a complaint with BBB, but wanted to make sure everyone looking for a termite company tenting knows of their poor crew and customer service. read more
