Full disclosure, Clark did send me a personal letter asking me to write a Yelp review about their service, now for the details. I have been with Clark for several years, large half acre property. They always show every two months or so, knock (sometimes I don't answer), leave a note on the door, and clearly turn over certain things like outdoor chairs, cushions, etc. Last two times, Ray was at the door, and asked me if I prefer to have him put back the furniture/cushions/... or leave in disarray so I know Clark actually did the work. I told them to put things back as they were as I work from home and can see them doing the work. Clark asked if we had any special issues, for us, its mainly spiders and ants, sometimes snails. Two times in the last few years we had ants make it into the house and both times for free (warranty that comes with this service) they showed up to respray. I have not used another company in the past so I can't compare, but for me, they do what I pay them for, no complaints. read more

This morning I discovered a tail..that belonged to a dead mouse in one of my cabinets. I freaked out to put it lightly. I called the company I got pest service before in the past (I wasn't happy with them the first time-but their number was in my phone) and they wanted to charge me over 300 to come evaluate the situation. He called before he got to my place, he was very nice, explained everything very well, was very respectful and most of all completely put me at ease because I was freaked out big time. As a real estate professional, I need quick accurate reports. The seller of the property had used Clark for maintenance and had been happy with them, the assured him that they could have the treatment done, and the clearance quickly. So this is the reality: All the work was done by Thursday, re-inspection scheduled by the company for Monday. They forgot to tell him. Have no idea what happened on Tuesday, or Wednesday. Thursday was Thanksgiving. Second Monday, still do not have report, nor invoice. Escrow can not close out. Client does not have funds to close on new house. Terrible. We are selling our house so it had to be tented. They trampled the s#@t out of all our garden beds, broke numerous branches off the plumeria tree, tracked mud everywhere and didn't inform us of all the work that needed to be done so set off our burglar alarm. Okay, so we have been struggling with Clark for a few months, MANY no shows, I would get a post card, with a date\time, make sure to be here, and no one shows. I would call, and yes they would send someone to spray, but never when scheduled. I asked supervisors to call me, and no calls. I had my breaking point this week, I have made it clear i ONLY wanted my scheduled service dates on Friday, as that's when i Work from home. However, Clark randomly shows on Monday. I happen to be home not feeling well, and well.. honestly, no phone call, no warning, you just SHOW? Really, ... and what if I wasn't home? ...Anywho i proceeded to ask the technician to leave ( he was actually very nice), he did, I called and cancelled the next day. I was asked to reply to an email to complete my cancellation, .. and I did, however.. Clarks email servers were rejecting all mail from google.com. So i forwarded it to my work email, tried again, and more email server rejects. So I called Clark, had them note on my account that i TRIED to cancel via Email, and they noted it in my account. About an hour later, a tech was at my door, trying to convince me not to cancel, sorry but not the way to handle this. Perhaps a supervisor or owner, but no .. you don't send a tech. ( PS this is NOT an invitation for an owner or supervisor to call me, that window is closed). So today, again still home, as im not feeling well.. and knock knock ... Another tech has showed up to service my yard, this one doesn't know that i cancelled. ....Seriously Clark, get your self together, this is embarrassing for you as a company. No organization, terrible customer service, and look at the situations you are putting your techs in. You guys seriously need some leadership change there. boy do I wish I had read these before I signed up with this "customer service oriented" company. long story short after having 3 separate no show issues in just 6 months I called the owner himself and explained to him why I was cancelling. Mr. Clark was actually very nice and said he would forward my issues to the local SD office. this was two days after I called the corp. office and was guaranteed a call that day from the local SD office (another strike). So after my chat with Mr. Clark, low and behold I got a call from the local branch manager who happens to be Mr. Clark's cousin (another Clark, would not like to be at that turkey day table). Horrible !!!! We all hate waiting around for service request but it's understandable. But what isn't is when you are given a time gap and they don't show they don't call either to let you know what the situation is. After calling to find out what is going on they say they need to schedule the appointment for another day. Really another day !?!? I'm honestly shocked that this company doesn't have a higher rating. We're in Poway, we also have Ray, and he is wonderful. Very prompt, explains everything. Great service and seems very knowledgeable. When our ants weren't completely gone in a week, I called Ray just as he told me to - he came back out and did a little something in my wall sockets and bam - no more ants. I have been dealing with Clark Pest over at least the past 5 years. Their service provided is sufficient and the technicians are professional. DO NOT USE if you have a reason you need to coordinate service. I have dogs and cannot randomly have them spray with out coordinating times. In particular I want the company to know that Makato Madeira is one of the reasons I am still with Clark. I cant say enough about how great this company is . I signed up for the monthly plan they come out and clean up all the spider webs from infront of my house in the back and on the patio. Now ive been living in the Scripps ranch neighborhood for 12 years now and every time i go outside i see black widows and all kinds of different spiders. I would have to go out there every other day to get rid of all the webs and try to make it safe for my kids to play out back without getting bit. Since i have called them i have not seen one spider webb not even a live spider. I see them dead on the floor when i go outside. I just wanted to give a special shout out to my dude Rigo Gonzalez for the professionalism and hard work that he does when he comes by always going above and beyond for me. Clark Pest Control came to our door and convinced us they would be a better service than our current pest control service. Convinced us to sign a contract for service knowing we already were working with another company. On their first visit they did not perform a better service. We cancelled and then of course were charged for the one time service. Their stance is we should have called so they could have come back out. Mine is that Clark's was trying to win my business and they should have done a better first time service. This is not about bugs coming back in a couple of weeks, this was about not doing a complete job the day he was here. They were unwilling to reverse the charge. We hired Clark Pest Control to rid ants from my parents home. It is a major job since they have always had ants for the 50+ years they have lived there. They guarantee their service so we figured why not? Our service technician is Michael Edelen and he is the best! Very professional, very personable, and knows his job. He has done what he promised and for the first time in 50 years the ants are almost wiped out! Unfortunately I can't give a zero or negative star. And additionally I have to use them because my rental company uses them exclusively. Nevertheless, had an appt, scheduled work around it and they were supposed to show between 3-5. 4:45 comes, hadn't heard anything and so I called. They didn't even if d my order and didn't know they were scheduled for me. So they finally found our order and said, oh the driver is running behind, let me call him and get back to you. Welp, 30+ minutes later I get a call back and the answer is, oops we meant to move your order to another tech, but somehow the ball got dropped. Soooo no one is coming today, how about another day? At this point I am about to blow a gasket as they try schedule me for another 2hr window. After insisting they make.it right and at least show on the hour rather than the window and 2 more calls back and forth and apparently they come tomorrow at 8am. Guess we will see if they can get off the 1 star after tomorrow.- Update , they definitely have tried to make things right and brought the guy out at 8am sharp this morning as requested. He was friendly and quickly was in and out. Also received a follow up call from Rueben asking if there was anything else they could do to make it right. Still not happy about yesterday but definite props for doing something to make it right. Now as long as there are no more of those nasty Lil critters showing up at our new rental, all is forgiven. read more

I have since been contacted by Clark and told that they had some problems with some techs and had fired them. I guess that possibly fixed the problem, but as I mentioned before, this had happened 3 times before, even with different techs. The false service aside, they still cost too high and provide mediocre service. I have since found a better company, one that actually comes when they are supposed to, treats the property 10x better, and costs $25 less per service treatment!!! read more

Pest Control is an important subject. I'm not into bugs or rodents, personally. I'm positive that it is a government conspiracy to keep these disturbing creatures around but at least I have a good company to help me make my way through. My previous company which I will not name sent me a great technician but he was better than the company. I hated letting him go but I wanted to run from the company. Do not use this company for termite control. I fired them after 8 years of service that has continually gone downhill. A Clark family member use to come to our house in the beginning years. Give us a quote, try to up-sell you then schedule the actual service as few days later. Easy..the service stopped the termites for at least a year. The poor service started about 3 years ago. A guy(the inspector) would show up and you would show him the exact areas and the proof where they were. He being a pro would insist that he really knew where. Right. Anway we would schedule the service and when the actual job was to be done, he asked where are they coming from? What? I thought your buddy drew a map for you 4 days ago. They sprayed and always had to come back. Now even after the 2nd spray we still had termites. I fired them today because they reached the absolute bottom of customer. First they advertise that they are now open from 9 to 5, Monday thru Sunday. They do not tell you if you call on the weekends that you will be transferred to a corporate sight somewhere. The person there took my info. I told here that although you were here 6 months ago the termite turds and wood were falling from the ceiling again. She told me she will send the store a high priority email so that Monday morning they could get right out. Nobody called or showed up. So, I called and this time it actually went to the Miramar store. The woman who answered had no clue to what I had requested and the high priority service. She said corporate sometimes does not send us the customer service requests. Again what? Now I had to start over and was told an inspector could be there in 4 days. If for some reason she could reach someone close to my home then she would have thembcall me. Guess what? No call. I have another company coming tomorrow. Seemingly effective treatments. However, got rid of Clark's because of the unbelievably shocking inflexibility I had with the scheduler. I arrange for each service so I can unlock our gate. I was out of town when they called to confirm next appointment. I informed them that I was out of town for a week and we'd have to reschedule. They absolutely refused insisting that per my contract service had to be completed while I was away. I mean I was asking for a week slip! They go rude so I fired them on the spot. I had an inspection for dry wood termites. The inspector was knowledgeable and stated the out buildings would be spot treated with a termicide and a treating mixture of Bora-Care. When the pest control guy arrived, he first sprayed the buildings inside with Tim-Bor, not the Bora-Care as I had agreed to. I then picked up an empty package of the Tim-bor and read the instructions. I quickly noticed he was using a preventative dilution of the product instead of the treatment dilution which is much stronger. I questioned him about the dilution and he said it was a 22% solution for treatment. That was his first lie. I said that was not true and called the inspector. The pest guy then showed me the contract that I had never seen which did say "prevention". He contacted the company and they agreed to spray in "treatment" concentration. He left to get more product. Next, he injected termidor where he saw kick out holes. If I had not been present, he would have left several areas untreated that the inspector had located. (have the inspector clearly note where he finds termite activity). When I questioned him about missing treatment areas, he stated that the termites carry the poison back to the colony and it kills them all. I said there are more than one colony. He argued that there was only one colony and it was all connected. (second lie). I finally got him to treat all the areas. I overheard comments to another worker that he couldn't get his job done with me around and that the inspector didn't know what he was talking about. He obviously did not know I could understand some Spanish. The pest control guy was totally unacceptable as an employee working with customers. I would not hire Clark pest control again. read more
