For whatever it's worth, I'm leaving a review to say that The technicians and Company are completely dishonest. First technician was supposed to do a preventive maintenance visit falsely claimed that everything was working when the humidifier was not working. My HVAC system was not working in the first place only because someone had broken into my house and turned off the gas to the furnace, the visit was unnecessary. He also likely double billed me at least. When I repeatedly called to say the humidifier was not working, they gave me a hard time about sending someone else out. The second tech lied and said that the humidifier had no on off switch, which it does, then falsely claimed that it was working, He was only gaslighting me. I called to speak to the owner of the company, the receptionist falsely claimed that humidifier was working, they're not gonna do anything. I am "posting" this review so they will take corrective action and fix my humidifier. read more

We moved into our new home in February and noticed that the heating system for the first floor would occasionally shut down. I went to investigate and found a sticker for Cool Breeze on the furnace. They were out quickly and resolved the problem on the first visit. Unfortunately, two weeks ago the upstairs system stop working. Again I called and again came out quickly and were able to identify the problem. This time it looks like a motor needs to be replaced. They checked and it will take a while to get it but they have been great and we are getting by with the one system that works. I don't have a ton of experience with HVAC companies, but so far I am very pleased with this one. read more

I've tried working with Cool Breeze a handful of times and nothing is ever easy. Often appointments are confirmed which then come and go without a word, followed by me making more calls and emails to reschedule. So many hours of my life and PTO wasted waiting for them. The work they do is fine and the price is reasonable, but the unreliability really kills it for me. In one example I was trying to get my 20 year old water heater replaced. After several attempts to set an appointment I was told their master plumber would come out to look at a few things looked at. The process of getting a quote and an install date took a ridiculous number of months, so much so that I said I'd stop working with them if they didn't respond. That got kicked up to a higher level who knocked off a small % off the price of my quoted services which I really appreciated and made the install happen (2 stars because I do have hot water in the house again). However, one of the services included a permit/inspection for the water heater which after repeated calls and emails - and being told an inspection would be scheduled multiple times - they've never made the appt. I try really hard to be a patient and responsible home owner but Cool Breeze makes that difficult. I get things are busy and if they can't do something, fine, just let me know instead of saying something will be done and then go silent. At this point I consider the permit a lost cause and have given up. I'm never going to rely on Cool Breeze again and will steer away anyone who asks. read more

Ronin, the owner so he claimed and supposed master plumber, is completely rude and unprofessional. He could not fix a leak and was completely gruff when he returned to fix a pipe leaking within 2 hours after he left and blamed the house rather than poor work for his need to return. The leak still exists after two attempts by Ronin and I am seeking another company to resolve this. Cool Breeze tried to insist on a third opportunity to fix the faulty work but I declined given they showed they did not have the skill in the first 2 attempts. Will never use them again. No justification to be mad at and rude to the homeowner because the leak still exists and the plumber needed to return. The handyman who was here to repair my ceiling (opened to do the plumbing work) and who discovered the continued leak was absolutely shocked at how rude and put off Ronin was to need to return to fix his own faulty work in less than 2 hours. Moreover, it became apparent to me that Ronin. the master plumber, wasn't qualified to fix my pipes. I wanted the galvanized pipe replaced for a long term fix and he insisted on a repair rather than replacement arguing that replacement could cause more issues. However, I think he just didn't have the skill to replace to pipe the correct way in the first place. The positive is that Ron refunded me the fee. read more

Although like most companies, they require a fee to come out and perform diagnostics, the tech was prompt, texted ahead, quickly assessed issue (slow leak and low free-on), called and provided recommendations for repair, and promptly repaired after explaining everything and getting our thumbs up. I was looking for a reliable company to tune up my HVAC system since it has not been checked in a couple of years and found Cool Breeze in Yelp and Home Advisor. Though it had high reviews, I was still skeptical. Most of the times the technicians were not on time and interested in upselling. I was plesantly surprised that was not the case with Cool Breeze. I was able to set a 2 hr time window that worked for me over the phone and requested a call 30 minutes prior to the technician arriving (some places I looked had 4 - 6 hour windows which was ridiculous). The day of the service the technician Rene called me 30 minutes prior to arriving and arrived promptly at the beginning of the 2 hour window, thus saving me precious time. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and patiently showed me all there is to know about the system while performing the tune up. Best of all he did not try to upsell me on services I do not need. Cost wise the tune up was also very reasonable. I highly recommend Cool Breeze and will be contacting them for future services. read more

Get your tankless water heater installed elsewhere. This was an unfortunate saga. We moved from tanked to tankless for the energy savings, but found that even warm water delivery took over 30 seconds longer with the new system. Really hot water could take 45 seconds in the kitchen, not the top floor. Aside from the inconvenience, the waste of water was significant. When presented with this dilemma, Cool Breeze management insisted the I must have misremembered how long hot water took with my previous system (insulting) and that 30-45 seconds is a reasonable wait time for hot water. There was nothing he could do and we would just have to live with it. That is, until I called the tankless water heater company. This was an issue that they had clearly addressed before and directed me to a $100 part that would recirculate the hot water around my home on a schedule that I could determine or let the heater learn our household water usage patterns. I now have hot water anywhere in my home in less than 15 seconds, as it had been before. I don't wish ill upon Cool Breeze. They serviced my home for many years. But on this issue, they were not fully informed, and it caused us unnecessary grief, grief that we wish to spare you with this review. read more

After asking help from several different companies to fix my dryer vent with a lot of failures, someone recommended Cool Breeze. They were the only folks creative and determined enough to do more than look in the flex. Turns out, there was a bird's nest by the vent blocking air flow. They hung out my third story window to remove the whole nest (no birds were harmed). And kept the house clean, too boot! The dryer is fixed. read more

We had the parts shipped to Cool Breeze who came & replaced them for a reasonable price. ... flash forward a week ... a puddle in the same space as before just smaller . The plumber stopped by located the source of the water... the attic HVAC unit's drain . They replaced it .. all water dried up . My luck 2 different leaks running to the same place in the unfinished basement...but it was TRUE ! Happy to report BOTH leaks fixed! Can't THANK YOU enough for help us protect our home. We have had good experience with Cool Breeze until today. We called them yesterday about a leak in our sink faucet. They charged us about $90 to assess the problem and then quoted us another $400 plus to replace the faucet. We called a local plumber who found the defective part at Home Dept for $25 and charged us a total of $100 for the part and plumber's time. Cool Breeze ripped us off for the diagnosic fee which we paid and for which we got no benefit. What do you think? Ira K. read more

Cool Breeze is a class act. They have replaced both the inside and outside units of one of our two HVAC systems. Not cheap, but a fair price and good value. The jobs were done on time and we were charged the estimated price. No surprises. We turned on the A/C a few days ago (June 1, 2020), realized the condensing unit was shot. I called and they showed up that day to check it out and give us an estimate. The replacement was scheduled 3 days later - not bad for June in the D.C. area. "Spring A/C Check-up deal for $79" You are paying for a contractor's estimate. While polite and very nice, the tech did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I thought this was a spring tune-up, which might include topping off coolant and cleaning the coils, but all he did was check the levels and tell me the coils and air ducts were dirty. He did give me verbal estimates on how much they charge to do those things though. $750 for duct cleaning, $250 for adding refrigerant, and $150 for cleaning the coils. read more

Overall, I recommend Cool Breeze as a company you should go for when needed. My heat pump broke the day another AC company's contractor came to clean the condenser coil. I had a very disappointed impression with that company. Therefore, I was in a rush to find another company to get the broken heap pump and also a 30 year-old air handler replaced. After internet research and multiple comparison, I chose cool breeze because their not bad reputation and selling Goodman brand. I scheduled an estimate appointment the day after system broke. Luckily Ron as company owner came to my place on the same day, took some pictures and mentioned emailing me the quote. The only thing makes me give 4 stars rather than 5 is because of postponed quote receive. Like some other reviews saying, they may take more time with current customer and caused less time left for the next one. Anyway, I got the estimate 4 days after and the price is fair. No cheap service fee but is as standard. I sent the deposit right away and got an early install schedule just 2 days after. On the installation day, installation team came really early around 7:30am. There are totally 3 guys, two of them are installer, the other one is transporting guy. The installers leaved me a professional behavior when taking out the old system. They worked cautiously with rules. As an engineer myself, I threw them a bunch of technical questions and they were happy to answer. After the installation done, they took time to do the test about pressure and performance. In my opinion, they respect their job and wish to keep a good reputation. We lost heat last night after a power surge (thanks Pepco). Called hoping for immediate service but the owner said quickest he could get someone to the house was 9am. Chris arrived right at 9am. I watched him work, first doing the initial diagnosis, then removing the motherboard, a panel behind it to get to the transformer. It was fried (thanks Pepco). Top marks for the company being out quickly and arriving right on time, the price was fair considering I watched all the specialized tools Chris used and his expertise dealing with live wires. $384 not cheap but considering all that Chris did I feel like I got very good value. We have used this company for multiple projects (they re-routed duct work, used a camera to fine and retrieve a sticker in the ducts that was causing a bothersome noise, done professional cleaning of the ducts in 2 apartments we own, and have fixed a leaking issue). We just finally replaced our entire AC system. I received 5 quotes. Cool Breeze by far was the most professional. The owner Ron came out and did a thorough inspection of what we currently have (we have a high velocity AC system). His quote was ~20% lower than other smaller companies. The larger companies that sent out "comfort consultants" were 75%-100% more (yes, twice as expensive for the same work). Ron understood we needed to get this done but did not plan for it financially, as we just bought out house in December. They installed our new system, adding more ducts, and did it all in one day. The final price was exactly what I was quoted, they did not try and upsell or add costs along the way. I would highly recommend this company and will be using them moving forward for all of our HVAC needs. read more
