She loved that I wore Hermes Lilly Pulitzer. Seemed very impressed, and needed some fast cash, she even asked could she clean my home for me. She described her husband as wealthy, but didn't quite know what he did, she didn't "need to know". She seem to be in possession of a lot of designer clothing and wanted to sell it to me, I don't need designer clothing I have a lot of designer clothing. So after cleaning my home washing my dishes, I noticed she was also very nervous, almost shaking, she said she had anxiety, OK that made sense. She said she needed to go to your jewelry store, she said she had an appointment with your jewelry store, but wanted to know if we could stop at the post office first. She showed me a Rolex watch and a wedding ring that she needed to pawn basically because of her cash flow issue. My question was "where was her husband?" She didn't answer. She also didn't have money to send a box at the post office to ask you to pay. Again I noticed how nervous this woman was, a new friend, didn't want to judge her, not assume she was using drugs. Then she told me the truth, her husband had left her, that's why she needed to sell the ring, and a very expensive Rolex watch. The problem was she said, the serial number had been filed off, I told her I didn't think you would take the watch. However, she spoke Polish I believe and somebody in your store did as well. However when we got in the store, there was somebody in the store who began shaking as well, they were very nervous as they wrote out a big check. The whole thing was so peculiar. I thought to myself "what is going on here?" I don't believe for a minute you and your business had any idea about the origins of the watch, how it was obtained, or even noticed the serial number was filed off. It was a quick transaction, you trusted her because she pulled the biggest con of all: , affinity. You were comfortable with her. When we got outside I asked her "why were you so nervous, what was that about?" Kid you not, whether she was telling the truth or not I'll never know, she told me what her husband actually did for a living, and it was pretty scary. How the Rolex was obtained was even scarier. I told her to never contact me again. You have a nice jewelry store. Giving me that kind of nonsense. Changing watch batteries is indeed risky, that is why so many places just "sell" watch batteries but will not open your watch to install the new battery. I have had several watches and have always had Morry change the batteries, never had a problem. Also, I inherited a ROLEX from 1964 (50+ years old) and I do not let anybody touch it except Morry. For my ROLEX, Morry is my "go to" guy. Truthfully, Morry is my "go to" guy for everything jewelry: sales and repairs. Most so-called "jewelers" are in reality just in sales, they buy wholesale and sell retail. Morry is an actual Gemological Institute of America ("GIA") trained bench jeweler. He can make jewelry from scratch and repair jewelry. FACT: jewelry stores in Monterey and Carmel send their jewelry repairs and ring sizing to Morry. Morry sizes the ring/repairs the jewelry and the jewelry stores in Monterey and Carmel charge you his fee and add on their own fee on top (you might as well go straight to Morry). Morry's retail prices are very competitive, unlike others he does not overcharge.

GIA reports don't list origin of the gem so I'm not sure it would be very helpful anyway. The first time I called and asked for a copy of the report, told me they'd get it to me in two weeks, but never called me back. I then tried to contact them via their website contact form and they never replied. Since then when I call, no one picks up. I would like to give these guys a chance to make things right and at least provide me with the information they promised me. They have my phone number. Maybe they will see this and reach out? (We should have read the reviews) We had the unfortunate experience of being taken advantage of but, did not find out until we returned home. I took the recent purchase to my jeweler in my hometown because I noticed that a few diamonds were missing. Before I even told him where we purchased the ring or how much we paid, he told me that I the missing diamonds had nothing to do with me. He stated that the prongs had been ripped off. He said it would cost between 200-300 to fix the ring and then stated but, it was only worth about $500.00. We paid $2,980.00 for the ring! We were told it was one of a kind. Going to Carmel you would think that the Jewelers there would be reputable. I have tried to call a few times and each time I do, I receive an answering machine stating they are off that day. Concidience? I have called the Carmel Chamber of Commerce to report them. Very sad and disappointed. I would think that Carmel would want to do better than that.
