I came here because it was such a hassle to deal with Home Depot to get a carpet stair runner. After checking the Yelp reviews, I decided to stop by. Class Carpet has such a wide selection and great prices. I ended up with a much better design in a better price range than the one I originally wanted from Home Depot, which Class Carpet could still order for me but why bother (you have to go in-store to see and feel everything Class Carpet has). As other reviewers have stated, the store is cramped but that's because it's packed wall-to-wall with options. First, the good. Georgia is great at guiding you to exactly what you need for your flooring needs. I only ended up with what I have--which I love--after giving her an idea of what I wanted and then letting her go through so many options with me. The work was exceptional (please check uploaded photos). I'm forgetting the lead guy's name, but he was very patient with me as we chose the backing for the runner. The workers were on time and careful with the walls. They were even cleaning while installing the carpet. These steps were a breeze. Now, the not so good. Communication can be an issue. Georgia was wonderful at the beginning and near the end of the process, but her follow-ups were scarce. I know I ordered carpet that they didn't immediately have on hand, and they might have been in the middle of a busy couple of weeks so I expected it to take awhile but a follow-up call/email just to update me on where we were in the process would've been helpful. Something to let you know you're not lost in the shuffle. There was some back and forth to get a date/time on the books for installation but almost a week went by where I didn't hear back when they said they'd get back. But in the end, a combo of Georgia and Kevin helped me get the earliest installation date/time that was most convenient for me. And they did go out of their way to set this up. So five stars for the choices and work, four stars for the customer service, which gets me to 4.5 and I'll round up to five because the finished product is so damn good. I'm definitely looking forward to using Class Carpet again for future flooring needs, which should be very soon. read more

Class Carpet on West 86th street is a real gem: a neighborhood store whose tiny size is deceptive. It offers a great selection, great service, and great installation work. I needed new carpet for a small home office, and after seeing ridiculously high prices at the big stores, I decided to check Class. Sure enough, Georgia helped me the find the perfect carpet, and it was very well priced. She arranged for the guy to come measure the room the next week and it was installed very soon after that. The installer did an excellent job in a tricky space, with some weird curves, etc. We were so pleased with the efficient experience that we went back to look for carpet for the living room. Robert was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable, and he was able to help us narrow down our choices based on quality, price, style, etc. And we were able to get samples ordered in good order. The secret to Class Carpet being able to compete with better known shops like ABC Carpet or even Macy's, is that they have a larger store in Long Island, and can access a large inventory for its Manhattan customers. As soon as our new sofa is delivered, we will decide on the size of the carpet we want, and will most definitely purchase it from Class Carpet. I'm a pretty discerning, demanding customer/consumer, and this place meet my high standards. read more

I called Class to replace my bathroom floor. I initially spoke to Kevin, who answered a ton of questions. I purchased my tiles a few days later, and they were installed less than 2 weeks after that. I did not give them 5 stars, as the installer needed to come back to do the corking, which should have been done the same day as the installation. I called to complain, and Georgia called me back and had the guy here the very next day. Not a major issue because my schedule is flexible, but would have been annoyed if I had to take off from work. The floor looks really nice and aside from the minor annoyance about the corking - all-in-all they did a very good job. Would use them again. read more

I went in for there grand opening and had a snapshot of my living room with the bare floor and just a few of the furniture. Judging from the photo they help me pick the right color and size. Now my living room looks like it came off a magazine page. Class Carpet & Interiors were extremely professional and knowledgeable. From the start they worked with our budget, (which was tight) to do our entire apartment. After the consultation in store, which we just shown up for. We were greeted with a big smile and vast knowledge. We then decided on a carpet and put down a small fee to reserve it. Then they came to measure our space the week after. Our apartment is oddly shaped to say the least and they did their very best to have minimal waste saving us money. 3 weeks later they came and fitted the carpets, I suggest to let your neighbors know before hand as it can be a rather loud process if you live in a old apt building like us. They also took care of our old carpets which was brilliant as we don't have anywhere near by to chuck them out. I highly recommend them. read more

Went to this store to get a quote for replacing a rug in my apartment. The salesperson barely talked to me then went to the back of the store to talk on the phone and never came back. I was the only client in the store and I waited for half an hour for vendor to come back to take care of me and she never did. Finally, after the longest wait in my life I decided to walk out ! Also the store is dirty, not organized or neat, there was a dog running around and it smelled like dog pee. They do not sell decent quality rugs . Avoid this 3rd rate dump ! read more

The installer, Fernando, and his team were creative and collaborative with me on the day of installation in deciding how to best deal with little issues that arose due to irregularities in our room. I did not give them 5 stars because I found that at times there were some communication difficulties and disconnects. There occurred a last-minute cancellation of a Monday morning pre-installation site visit that I only learned about upon calling the store that morning to confirm the appointment. Don't know how long I might have waited around if I hadn't taken that initiative. There was some mix-up, too, about the scheduled installation date. That being said, don't let those minor things keep you from using CCI. Indeed, you will be doing yourself a disservice to not use them since, in the end, what counts is the quality of the material and the quality of the installation, and those were superb. read more

If this is you, no worries, as I'm confident Kevin, Robert and the crew would help you narrow down to a selection that best suits your needs. I selected a wool blend for my master bedroom. Once the order was put in and down payment made, I waited about 10 days before the installers came. The guys who did the work were professional and fast. For a rip and replace job, it took under two hours to complete. Although there was some leftover sticky residue found on my transition tile to the bathroom. Kevin recommended Goo Gone and that did the trick. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality and installation. I'd probably go back to Class Carpets and Interiors for other offerings like shades and hardwood finishing. read more

She also failed to take my phone number on the receipt and did not contact me to let me know they were cancelling the installation appointment. THEN, she had said that her quote included everything, including installation. After the independent contractor came to install, he said I would owe him an additional installation fee. After looking for a company to come and refinish the Hardwood Floors in my apartment with no satisfaction, I finally located and talked to Kevin Sayadfar at Class Carpet & Interiors. We talked for a while on the phone and he put me at ease that they were more than capable and willing to do my floors. Kevin even worked with me on my tight schedule. The two workers that came were timely and courteous. Each stage of the process the workers kept my wife and I updated on what they were doing. The two floors were in terrible shape. After what seemed like months of researching different carpets in multiple carpet stores, internet and the corporate giant chain stores, who would have thought the best selection of highest quality carpets at comparable prices, would be in one of the local stores around to corner? I couldn't be happier with these guys and so glad we chose Class carpet for our building's carpet, baseboards and tile installation project. From Georgia to Kevin to Robert; they were all so helpful, friendly, and patient with me. Especially, Georgia, whom I call a problem solver, was excellent to deal with from the very first time we met and handled every single issue/question with a friendly attitude and professionally. She not only provided us multiple options with different grades of carpets, but also went out of her way to order different carpet brands for us to compare just because we wanted to see the difference in quality - of course we ended up choosing one of the very first carpet samples she had ordered for us. We had to coordinate timing of each job because we were using a different vendor for the paint job but Georgia made it easy for us and was very cooperative. She scheduled our tile job first, and then waited for the painter to finish up his work, then sent the guys to remove the carpet 3 weeks later, and then scheduled the carpet and baseboard installation when we were finished with the paint job. Throughout the project, she answered a million questions with a smile. I highly recommend Class carpet, the building hallways look amazing.
