I called with an LG Fridge that wasn't keeping temp. They took the time to listen to me explain the issues and the "YouTube" troubleshooting I had already performed myself. After a bit more over the phone troubleshooting, we both decided that we had identified the issue and that its repair was too expensive to perform. A year ago Mid MD Appliance Repair fixed our oven's computer panel. They also replaced the oven door's hinges. The door had a small crack which had overheated the panel (a known issue with Whirlpool ranges). In less than a year, the new hinges were broken again, this time leaving a much larger 1" gap. I called them thinking the hinges must be defective. The previous hinges had lasted over 11 years with only minor damage. Though it was past warranty I thought they would stand behind their work, at least offer a discount or perform some simple fix if possible. They asked if I had ever put any heavy weight on the door, like resting a pot on it, which I never had. To demonstrate the only abuse the door might receive, I opened the door and let go when it was half open. The door fell open with a clang. This seemed the excuse they were looking for and I was accused of improperly opening the door, implying you have to gently hold the door with two hands until it is fully open. They charged me $100 for the visit, gave me an estimate to replace the hinges, and left. This didn't sit right with me. I hadn't done anything differently than I have in the last 60 years of opening oven doors. Why did these new hinges last less than a year? Before I wrote this review I called them to discuss my concerns. They then yelled at me, repeating that they had seen what happened and that it was my negligence that made the hinges break. Finally, they said they didn't need to listen to me and hung up. Later, doing my own research, I found out that oven doors come with springs that prevent them from clanging open. If you open them halfway and let go, the door stays half open or gently falls open under its own weight. Possibly the spring was installed improperly when the hinges were replaced, or it had broken since the repair. If they had bothered to listen to me or ask a few questions, maybe they could have figured out what I did on my own. Instead they treated me with rudeness and ignored my concerns. read more

I called and they came out with in a day. Fixed the heating element and "cleaned out the dryer vent". Tab as a bit steap, $202 for repair and $73 for "cleaning out the dryer vent" which they claim they never do/offer. I paid cash so they gave me a break on the cost down to $350. Two weeks later (after I had been away for own week) using my dryer again and it's only drying 90% of everything. I called Mid MD Appliance Repair again to have them look into it again. They wouldn't come out, they said they don't clean out dryer vents and that I had to call another company. Why offer and provide a service if you aren't going to do it well? read more

Did... not... care... at... all when the appliance they repaired promptly broke again 10 days later. They SAY they have a 90 warranty but that apparently doesn't cover parts or labor, so what does it cover? If I'd done what they were proposing I'd be shelling out $400-500 to these guys to maybe, or maybe not, fix our dryer. Heck, I can almost buy a new dryer for that. Don't work with these guys. If something goes wrong they may treat you the same. read more

Mid Maryland came out today to fix my ice maker in my GE refrigerator. They were timely and efficient! This was a father/son team and it was very evident of how they used their strengths to compliment each other. They provided some info on the appliance industry that will help in my future purchases. My repair was very simple and quick to resolve. When I mentioned how fast it was, Dad shared he has been doing this for 35 years. The only thing I would recommend to them is to share your name! (this is the only reason I gave 4 stars- I couldn't do 4.5 stars) I will definitely be using them again. read more

These guys were recommended to me by the plumbers who came out when my pipes burst. When fixing the leaks, they found that Something also cracked in my dishwasher. Mid MD came out and told me what needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, they had to order the replacement part and come back another day. They went above and beyond by also mounting the dishwasher properly. They were prompt and efficient. The dishwasher is like new. Highly recommended! read more

Our 6-year-old LG refrigerator quit cooling. LG referred us to Mid MD plus 3 others service shops. Mid-MD responded quickest and came prepared, including with a new compressor in case that was the issue. It was. They had it fixed and working within an hour. I would definitely recommend them and use them again, although I hope I never have to. read more

I'm sad to say this, but if you care about COVID protocols during omicron or other variants, do not use Mid Maryland Appliance Repair. Upon request from myself and my home warranty company, the repairman would not wear a mask inside my house, so I did not allow him in. The repairman ranted about how he's vaccinated, so he doesn't need to be masked, and said he can't breathe wearing a mask. He advised me to "put a pillow over your head." Look, we can all have our personal preferences on wearing masks indoors. I wish we weren't in this situation. But when omicron is raging with new infections and the customer doesn't know you, it's just common decency to wear the mask when requested. He wanted to come into my home, not some public place. We had Mid MD Appliance out today to check a simple trap clog in our washing machine. We were told it would be $90 to come out and give the estimate. They were here 15 minutes and found the simple clog which they removed the piece of color fabric and let me know it was now $170. Preformed the work with no estimate (as promised), just whatever they felt like charging after it was done. This is not how business is done. I gave them a chance to reconsider the outrageous charge but they couldn't care less. Steer clear of this company. read more

They came to do a diagnostic call. We wouldn't let them enter the home without masks. They claimed they were all vaccinated and didn't need masks. They left because they refused to comply with common sense CDC guidelines that advises masks even for vaccinated individuals indoors and also respect the wishes of their customer. read more

Wish I had the opportunity to see if this company was as good as they state. Everything seemed to be good until it came to actually meeting for our appointment. I scheduled the appointment with Ian. They handled setting the appointment well and were friendly over the phone for the few minutes I spoke with them. It was hard getting a time that worked since it seems like they weren't taking anything after 5pm when I asked and nothing on weekends. With my wife and I both being in full time work, it was already difficult in that sense. They said they prefer the 8-12 time slot so I made special arrangements at work to cater to them. They said they would come around 8am time frame since I mentioned only having half the day free. The day of the appointment it was 9:15a and still nothing. I called them and they were atleast an hour away from me stating I would be the next visit. I asked that they try to arrive as soon as they could. So after waiting almost 2 hours with no show, I had to step out to do a quick errand which I couldn't plan for since I was misled with timing. After leaving, about 20 min later, I get a call from Richard telling me they were outside my door. He seemed annoyed and not so friendly anymore. So I apologized and said I was just a few minutes away. I rushed as fast as possible to get there. I missed them by maybe 5-10 min. When I called them the moment I arrived, Ian answered the phone saying they have left and I needed to reschedule with my warranty company. I almost couldn't believe my ears when he said verbatim "We don't have time to be waiting around for you." I was so insulted!! Especially after I had been waiting most of the morning for them already. I asked what I should do now and then Ian proceeded to tell me, "Call the warranty company and reschedule with another company. We aren't coming back out for you." I can't believe that a company, with so many high marks, had the audacity to be so inflexible and so unprofessional within a moments notice when things were not exactly how they wanted it. I was so offended that I had to make sure that any potential new customers aren't being caught completely off guard. I hope this review helps any other regular 9 to 5 people looking to get a simple repair done and hopefully it turns out better than it did for me. I will not use this company in the future and would advise all others to be careful if you intend to. read more

My dishwasher seems to be working fine. However, I had to request that the technicians put masks on, and they failed to keep them on through out the service. They even left a trail of water in my kitchen. The laziness is one thing. Not properly wearing PPE while in a clients home is absolutely unacceptable. The service appears to be great, but lack of accountability to your clients is not. Please address this issue through out your company immediately. Thank you. read more

He came out to assess the damage of my broken dishwasher and concluded that it was going to cost way too much to repair and some of the parts were no longer available. That diagnosis cost me $80. Seemed like a fair price. So I purchased a new one and contacted him for the installation. He told me that he would install it for $140. He told me that he wanted to take away my old one because he was going to repair it on his own. I talked him down a little bit since he was going to find use for my old one. We agreed on $120. He arrived, removed the old dishwasher with a bunch of complaining about how my floor was making it difficult to remove. But yet he did it in about five minutes. Then told me that I needed a plumber to come because my pipes were incompatible with the new dishwater. I inmediately contacted my plumber so that that would be taken care of right away. he said that he was mistaken and that this was not the dishwasher he wanted to repair. He told me he would only be able to do the job, now that it was more complicated ,for $160. I said, "I'm fine With the $160 but you are taking my old dishwasher away, correct?" He said no. He said it would cost him way too much to take the dishwasher away. But yet, interestingly, he arrived at my home assuming that he would be taking away my old dishwasher. Hmm? Now he does to have the means to do that? So here I am now up charged to $160 and stuck with a an old dishwasher. While quickly and easily removing my old dishwasher, he tried to show me pipes and plugs and problems the whole time to which I kept saying, "I don't understand any of this." He saw an opportunity to take advantage of a single mom who is unable to work on or understand appliances. I told him so and he left very abruptly. read more
