Very discriminatory towards me and my service dog today. I usually go to clays a couple of times out the week but I will never go again. I am a disabled veteran and I called ahead to make sure everything was good. I sat at a table by myself and away from people and the crowd. I had a manager come out and say no pets allowed and I told him she was my service animal. He said okay and walked away. He never apologized. She was not barking or causing a disturbance you wouldn't even had known she was there unless you walked over and physically saw her. Managers continued to come over and it felt as if they trying to make me hurry up and leave. I will never go to this restaurant ever again. read more

We haven't been here in a while since we moved farther west but we remembered where to go and the service was friendly and fast. their menu is still extensive and the ambiance takes you out to a ranch or dude ranch with great food. We had a cheeseburger and chicken tenders and their fries were so if the hottest temperature i have had in a while. they food was fresh and hot too but the fries were great being hot! read more

There was NO signage stating this place was not pet friendly. Even with their outdoor patio/seating. So after deciding to bring my family here including our family dog. I was extremely disappointed that after waiting 20 minutes in line just to get my order in... I was finally told, once another order taker came to help the line and take more orders , that I wasn't able to eat with my leashed animal. Sorry Clay's your Famous Country Fried Steak is a total disappointment. It's so tough you can't chew it. We ordered the lemon pepper catfish as well, there was no flavor. The menu said it came with red beans and rice but it only came with rice. Don't put stuff on DoorDash if it's not right. So thoroughly disappointed. You used to be really good. read more

The food was delicious, staff very friendly and helpful decent atmosphere and very clean. Wife had ice water and I had iced tea. A little pricey, my wife had fish and chips, I had chicken fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and fried okra. Cost with tip and taxes $46.66. Tip wasn't optional which I do not like. They had a crawfish special and I guess they were probably trying to get rid of old crawfish or something because the crawfish were so salty and the meat were mushy. Crawfish was less than the amount I bought, yes I went home and weight it with my kitchen scale. Worst crawfish I've ever had. Waited 40min for them. Waste of money and time. I just don't understand why hire a waitstaff when all you gotta do is just have counter service and call the number when the food is ready. At this place there's really no need since they never come back its just a waste of time & labor a complete waste. They didn't even chop the meat up, it was just a big slab of unseasoned brisket that I had to break down myself. A lot of it was just fat. Took one bite and almost threw up. Excellent casual lunch spot for the family. We've been to Clay's a couple times now and both visits were overall positive. The big appeal, or at least to us, is that it's very family friendly. There's a ton of open spaces for kids to run and play, including a sand pit, and a turf grass backyard. The menu offers all the usual suspects, burgers, chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches, etc. Nothing fancy but plenty of options. Pricing ranges between $11-$20+ per plate depending on what you order. Also, they have a full bar, so parents can sip a cocktail and unwind while watching the kids run in circles. Service was great for us, in spite of other recent reviews I've seen on here. The restaurant is massive, and there's plenty of tables to grab where you may be forgotten, but that hasn't happened to us yet. In fact I was impressed by how quick the food came out last time, and how fast and consistent the wait staff was with checking on us and grabbing what we needed. If you've fgot a car full of kids dying to burn some energy off, and you're hoping to find a restaurant ready for them, give Clay's a shot. read more

Had a fantastic 1st visit with my family here. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was great. My personal favorites were the fried okra, fried mushrooms, and the fried fish and shrimp. The rest of the group (five of us in total) thought the chicken fried steak was great (I don't eat red meat so couldn't try it). The shrimp tacos were good, but I wish the tortilla was corn and not flour. We also had the peach blueberry cobbler, which heads up is more like a bread pudding. I'm not big into bread pudding so it was just okay for me but my husband loves bread pudding and he loved it. read more
