We stopped by this wine bar on a Thursday evening to have a wine tasting and some tapas before dinner. We were a large party of 10 so we sat outside. We liked how the server asked if we would like a canvas tarp to shade us from the setting sun. However, the service in general was really really slow that day( because of shortage of staff) and they didn't have any wine tastings due to being a little short on staff. So we were a little bummed about that. But the server was nice enough to let us taste a couple of wines before we ordered them. We made a trip through the Central Coast and ended our trip in Solvang. We were all "fooded" out and wanted to eat somewhere simple. Decided on Clean Slate because they seemed to have small plates/tapas. Turns out they only serve that on specific nights. We went on the night where the food was cajun themed. We had the (very delicious) red beans and rice and flatbread. Their wine selections were great and service was friendly too. Overall a great experience. read more

We stopped by here before going to see a play at Solvang theater fest on a Friday evening. They were having a winemaker event that we were able to participate in. We had two pre fixe courses, a mini-shrimp po-boy and a braised pork dish. The pairing was phenomenal! We will be back to try some small plates from the regular menu. read more

It's all you'd want it to be. Succulent Sour Crunchy. The TORTILLA ESPANOLA!!!!! Ohhhhmyyyygoddd. It's a potato onion omelette slice. With tomato sauce and chimichurri. All those things that were listed, are the best I have ever had. I want a tub of that tomato sauce and put in some jalapeños and chipotle and lime juice and have the most amazing salsa roja ever. From the hostess to the server, they were all so kind super clean, everyone is constantly washing their hands-and masks are worn by everyone. Now, let's talk food! The Cauliflower pizza is so good, I nearly ordered a second one. However, the chef recommended the pork sliders and shared with us all about where she sources her ingredients. The owner (male, and created his Bocce blend one) was so passionate. Here was the biggest thing that seemed to separate them from most places, including every place in Solvang: each person took pride in their job. The best place we stopped during our entire trip to Solvang. We're a young couple celebrating our anniversary and the staff at Clean Slate were top of the line for us from the moment we walked in. Emmy-Sue was super knowledgeable and gave us extra attention to make sure we found the wines that met our preferences. The patio area is super chill and the inside is really cute. It was one of the hottest days of the year, so we chose this place based on it's A/C along with the fabulous reviews. This place was so amazing, the servers and owner were so welcoming and knowledgable. Not only do they offer many different wines from the area, the owner also sells his wine here and it was all so fantastic.
