As a small female semi new to martial arts, I'm careful with gyms since I had a couple of not so good experiences. Master Cleber and Coach Fabiano are the real deal and legit! The students with higher belts are helpful to new students. This is a family oriented gym and everyone encourages you to improve your technique. I love drilling as well as rolling with the women, men, and kids here. No egos with the students. Cleber's affiliations with many other gyms and students attract fighters and non fighters on the mats. So many legit BJJ players come to Clebers to train from all the world. No shortage of new people to roll with. Top notch!

The best MMA school in Orange county. Cleber is a great instructor, very knowledgeable, he's very detailed, and very patient. School is clean and spacious. Students are super friendly and knowledgeable.

A couple of kids hanging out by the play pen. The play pen has a ton of toys for them to play with along with a tv to play childrens movies

Ive been going to this gym for 9 years now and I have nothing but great things to say about the gym. Several classes are available through out the day for kids and adults in both grappling and striking options. To be honest, I'm not really sure what the complaints are about, I have yet to have an issue with payments and the expectations on contracts were very clear when initially signing up. Cleber is a legend in orange county and he has produced several blackbelts that have gone off to open their own schools like A-team, Ace, Leon, Elite Team, Victor Candal Martial Arts and countless others through out the US. Cleber is there for all of the classes through out the day unless there is some kind of special event happening and if there is there are 5 other black belts hand picked and trained by him to teach the classes. There is never a lack of instructors to assist in teaching and every upper belt student there is also very helpful. There are no egos in this gym either so if you are someone that is new to martial arts this is a perfect place to go to. You dont have to worry about getting beat up or bullied at the gym. Its very much a family type feeling, everyone will have your back and push you to get better. The kids program is phenomenal and the track record will speak for itself. Multiple time tournament winners as a team, individual champions at every major tournament and wrestlers that take private classes here have succeeded at the State level in HS and gone on to compete at the college level. I suggest coming down to check it out so you can judge for yourself.

We started our four-year-old grandson here a month ago. The difference has been amazing. Master Cleber and his staff are amazing. Our grandson is learning to focus, pay attention and he's learning a higher level of discipline. At four years old they treat him with love and compassion but also show him their expectations. What a wonderful experience both in learning and that he is a black belt in training.

He gained confidence in his abilities at the studio. With the smaller group sizes, it's definitely a more added advantage for focused improvement on form and learning new techniques. Aside from martial arts, there are important values continually being taught - like respect of others, respect of self, kindness, patience, self control, anger management even! The class time seems longer than other places, but it's truly for the kids to get more comfortable with the studio, its equipment and to practice in a safe environment. There is plenty of free time before and after of when the actual instruction begins and a little break in between with healthy snacks. The kids get a kick out of seeing Master Ted rip an apple in half, or a banana without squishing it. Even my daughter, who wasn't taking the class but was allowed to "play and be part" of the class misses going to the studio. It was such a great way for them to burn tons of energy and have so much fun. I wish we could have continued, but our schedules started conflicting and we had to stop going. Thank you Master Ted for giving the gift of learning martial arts.

The teacher, Sensei Rastogi, is one of the most talented teachers I've ever met - and he makes the classes meaningful and fun. We not only practice martial arts together - there are also always events that are geared at giving and contributing to the larger community. Tom Vo's was one of the few places that can actually host a birthday party and the number of kids that can be accommodated for the price is exceptional! Especially because when you host a party you've got to consider that many children have siblings of similar age and it's hard to not exclude them! The party is about 1.5 hours long, the kids get checked in, and one of the instructors will start off with light TKD activities to see them all follow instructions. The birthday guest of honor gets to wear a cool black belt that says it's their birthday during the party. Then there are two more organized games and there are prizes that motivated the kids (spoiler alert every participating child got one!) one of the games was punching/kicking a target as fast as they could against each other! the party includes pizza and water/soda for the kids, and we provided some refreshments for the parents! We also provided cake. The minimum number of kids to invite is 6-10 children, I would strongly advise aiming for 20-25 kids invited because if there's an older sibling within that number they can be an example to the more shy/timid kids to participate. I did inquire that 5 years old is probably the youngest recommended age for the birthday child to enjoy being the guest of honor- for children invited I'd say you'll want the youngest participants to be 3.5 almost 4 years old, 4yo kids are definitely able to participate. I'd also advise that you inform invited children's parents to complete the waiver ahead of time to ensure it's a smooth check in process since the party is packed fast. All the guests had such a great time! The parents enjoyed that they were able to sit and socialize while watching the kids participate from afar instead of needing to supervise the kids like most parties require. The instructors were amazing to get the kids engaged and active, and they definitely knew what they were doing to stay organized with about 27 kids! All kids that attend a birthday party are eligible for one free month of classes at any Tom Vo's location, which is super awesome! disclaimer: my son did a free class trial at this location about 6 months prior to his party here, and we would have gone through with the offer for $29 for 2 weeks of classes to start but ultimately we ended up at another dojang because it's closer to where we live to accommodate the commitment and the pricing/overall instruction was similar. Aside from location for us, we would have continued here at Tom Vo's, but I'm so glad we were able to still book a birthday party here and I'd still be happy to recommend this place as a TKD location, and hosting a party was an excuse to give a 5 star review. We'll probably be back in a few years to host another with probably some new friends!
