    The Original Grandma Pizza
    Drew O.

I've been here over 20 times. Sometimes they have school orders and can't fill locals orders for hours. They were out of pepperoni today. At least a half dozen times they overcharge $2.50-$3.50 for a topping on a personal pizza and neglect to even put the toppings on the pie. I make a lot of money and would never complain but i won't spend money here anymore. Dominoes is down the road and better.

    What I ordered

My order was not what your picture shows. Boiled pasta drowning in jarred vodka sauce, more like pasta vodka soup. Maybe you should change your menu pictures to reflect your actual food. Not ordering from here again.

Amazing slice of grandmas pizza. Soooooo good. Best grandmas I have ever had.
    J W.

Recently moved back in the area and the grandmas is better than ever. Now live farther away than before and still make the drive to get it. There is more cheese than I remember from back in the day. It is topped with chunks of tomatoes, which I sometimes don't like at other places but they stew them or something because they are perfect. Nice seasoning and great overall taste. We almost always stop in for a slice now and they do a great job with that. Always a perfect crunch on the bottom. Moving up the list of favorite pizza in the state.

My favorite pizza place in town. The Andrew pizza is an insanely rich delight with bacon, vodka sauce, and ricotta. The Grandma pizza is also fantastic. Both are 10/10 and the rest of the slices are 8/10. The trick is to arrive right when the pies come out. Also, incredibly low prices.

Yummy Hawaiian personal pizza. I was looking around the area for a small personal Hawaiian pizza but they usually only make large pies because it is a specialty pizza but Clemente's accommodate my order . They are very friendly and the service was great. The pizza was delicious and I was able to try one of their rice balls I totally recommend them yummy

Half pans of broccoli with cavatelli, penne alla vodka and chicken parm. Yum!
    Amy O.

Clemente's does a thriving pizza business but we ordered 3 half pans of pasta/chicken to go. The penne with vodka was remarkable. Adults loved. Finicky kids loved. We demolished that dish. Chicken parm was also great and we liked that they cut the chicken breasts in big pieces which was good for a big group if some folks just wanted a taste (but you WILL go back for seconds). The third dish of cavatelli and broccoli wasn't bad. It just lacked a little flavor (that could be fixed with a little more garlic, olive oil and salt). Honestly, it was probably just the contrast to the first two dishes that were so rich and bursting with flavor. We would look forward to ordering from here again and definitely will add a pizza next time because I fully expect the buzz is worth it. But don't overlook the pasta alla vodka and chicken dishes which were pretty impressive. I hope there are leftovers for breakfast.

We had the Grandma pie. It was tasty. A lot of the pizza in this area is like cardboard. This was good. I would totally come back here.

That set the tone a bit, and the staff stayed pretty flat and distant throughout. In a place serving Italian sandwiches, you'd hope for at least a little of that classic deli energy, but it felt more transactional than welcoming. On the plus side, the sandwiches were loaded with meat--generous piles of gabagool (capicola) and the other cold cuts, so you definitely get your money's worth in terms of quantity. That's the highlight. Flavor-wise, though, they fell short. Everything tasted kind of one-note and under-seasoned. The meat was good quality, but it needed salt, maybe some oregano, a splash of vinegar or oil, or just more care in the assembly to bring it to life. It wasn't bad, just forgettable--more filling than satisfying. Overall, it's a solid 3-star spot if you're purely after a big, meat-heavy sandwich and don't mind basic service. If you want personality behind the counter or a sub that actually pops with flavor, you might want to keep looking. We left somewhat satisfied but not impressed, and probably won't make a special trip back.

We brought it back home and the cutlet was still plenty warm and the romaine was cold and crunchy. My coworker and boyfriend suggest getting some extra Caesar dressing on the side for dipping. There was an altercation of two couples yelling at each-other and causing a fuss. Lowkey I wish the manager would have refused service to all 4 of them because why were they being absolutely terrible at 1pm on a Saturday. Not kicking them out promotes they can act like that and have no repercussions. But anywho guess the sandwiches are worth fighting over. I will be returning!

If I'm paying around $20 for a sandwich, it better be worth it... and this absolutely was! It was so so good - fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. Only thing to note is their limited hours, so plan ahead--but it's 100% worth it.

However, last week I looked them up and ordered through Yelp (facilitated by Grubhub, apparently). I ordered 2 of the roast beefs, 2 chopped chickens and a chicken Caesar salad and salivated during my 30 min drive to pick up. I arrived to an entirely still and locked store. No sign of anyone. I've often noticed vendors failing to update working hours, and that is frustrating. But what's worse is when I've got Yelp blaming Grubhub and Grubhub blaming everyone. I called and there was never anyone at the store though Grubhub took my money and gave me a pickup time. They agreed to refund me in several days but did absolutely nothing to compensate or remedy the situation and took no responsibility. So I will not be using Grubhub again (and that may mean ordering through Yelp if they only work through Grubhub). I hope Carved cleans up their act with times. Very frustrating when nobody takes responsibility and I don't know whether I can even trust ordering food through Yelp.

We tried the Stirling Dip, which consists of sliced roast beef, sharp provolone, and caramelized onion on a garlic baguette. It also comes with a side serving of beef au jus, pickled cucumbers, and red onions. The beef was high-quality and so tender! The sandwich was stacked with a lot of beef, and we split it. It was super filling, and we had a hard time finishing it. The bread was soft and delicious. The sandwich cost $18.00. It was juicy enough that it didn't need to be dipped in the au jus. I would have given it 5 stars, but it was on the salty side. They told us that they will start serving meals in the future.

Lupa is located in a section of Berkely Heights that has seen a lot of recent construction, so it is very pretty and clean. You couldn't be blamed if you bypassed the restaurant. It is not very flashy looking and that is part of its charm. Be warned, there are not a lot of parking spaces behind the restaurant so you may wind up parking in the bank parking lot next to it (when the bank is closed of course). The staff at Lupa is super friendly and treats you like a regular even if this is your first time. The host was super nice, the waitress fantastic and the chef even came to our table to talk to us when we were done eating! The interior is very clean and modern looking. It's elegant and perfect for virtually any event including dates, anniversaries and family get togethers. We wound up sitting in the same area as the bar, which mostly has 2-4 seater tables and of course you can sit at the bar as well. The other side of the restaurant is where the larger tables are located. Here's a rundown of what we had: CLAMS ON TOAST Baby clams. crispy ham. thyme When I ordered this, I expected to see slices of toast with crispy ham and baby clams on top. Instead, it is two large pieces of wonderfully toasted bread with crispy ham on top. The actual clams sit in a *delicious* broth. Taken altogether these various components form a delicious bite. Be sure to dip that bread into the broth! SQUID INK SPAGHETTI lobster knuckles and claws. broccoli florets. grape tomatoes. Sherry Cream Sauce This dish has a wonderfully deep and earthy flavor. I've had squid ink pasta before and this was a wonderful example of it. The sauce was perfect and it was cooked beautifully. HANGER STEAK Truffled pomme frites. Chimichurri The steak was beautifully cooked (we had it medium rare) and the chimichurri sauce was great. However, the steak needed a bit more salt (and I'm not usually one to add salt to food). The pomme frites were wonderfully crispy and tasty. BROCCOLI RABE lemon. Kilos Broccoli rabe is a simple side dish but it is one of my favorites. It is also one that can easily be overcooked. These folks cooked it perfectly and it made for a fantastic side dish. My party and I loved our experience at Lupa and we all agreed we would happily return any time!
