Such a quaint little restaurant with a nice variety of sandwiches. I had the Kentucky Derby - cheese, mushrooms, beef, and a vegetarian sandwich with Avocado the next time. I love the tea you can order by the pot- a strawberry long island flavor, which my mom loved, and the IceWine that I absolutely loved. I liked the IceWine so much, I came back and bought tea bags, loose IceWine leaves, a strainer, and the Raw Sugar so I could make it at home. After you eat, stop next door to get some ice cream. I had some that had coconut in it, and a local who frequents the shop specifically for ice cream highly recommended it- the sole reason he stopped by Grand Pacific Junction was to get some of this coconut ice cream. read more

After walking around the small shopping area of Grand Pacific Junction, my now wife and I decided to take a look into ordering a cake from Clementine's for our wedding. We were extremely satisfied by how professional the staff was and how nicely we were treated when we showed up with 12 people for cake testing. We originally only intended to have a couple of people go for the cake testing, but since so much of our close family and friends wanted to be part of this experience, they all tagged along. We were able to try several different cake combinations and frosting flavors. It was an extremely difficult decision to make since all of the different cakes we tried were out of this world. We were very satisfied with the price of the cake. It was about average with other quotes we have had at other locations. The thing that turned us to this location was how closely they work with the florist in Grand Pacific Junction (Cutting Garden). My wife really wanted flowers cascading down the cake, and that requires a baker and a florist to work together and get along through the entire process. read more

Situated between other cute little shops, Clementine is a wonderful place for high tea. I've been here twice, and during both visits had a great experience! REMEMBER, to try to call ahead of time to book a reservation for tea. They need some time to prepare the sandwiches and scones/cakes for tea. During my second visit, I made the mistake of not reserving ahead of time. However, the staff were still able to scramble enough things for my friends and I-YAY!! The workers there are very nice, and are constantly checking up on you to make sure you have everything you need. The set up is very cute, and each person gets their own unique teacup and saucer. Your choice of tea comes with an assortment of sandwiches: cucumber, turkey, roast beef, egg salad etc., as well as an array of desserts and scones. The food is nicely arranged in a tea tray, and is easily accessible to everyone in your party. It's a unique experience, and fun to do on a relaxing weekend. Clementine's is what I'd describe as an old-fashioned, country-style tea room. Not the ornate, filigreed, lace and satiny fabric type, but homey and home-spun casual. In the 1930''s it could have been one of those places nearly everyone looked forward to visiting, just to spend a couple of relaxing hours sipping Darjeeling or Earl Grey and enjoying someone else's meatloaf and apple pie instead of their own---and likely comparing them, too---after a hot, exhausting week at the local factory or helping to till the last two acres. It has an authenticity that had me imagining what it might have been like back then, nearly 90 years ago---newer farmhouses (century homes now), church socials, sensible brown shoes, peach harvesting, calico aprons, tractors, general stores, 4H competitions, and radios the size of dishwashers. Clementine's is perfectly suited for it's historic locale---the Grand Pacific Junction---and is just one of several buildings with little shops, all within walking distance of each other. (Allow enough time to visit the Artist Colony, next door. Fun stuff. Didn't have time to visit any others, though, but plan to return.) I'd like to mention here, too, that the small corner of Grand Pacific that we walked through was nicely landscaped, very well-kept, and the plants and flowers looked amazingly healthy. Pride of ownership is evident. Nora, our 5 star server for about 4 tables (of maybe 6 or 7 total) in one of their three dining areas, was cheerful, friendly, VERY likeable, and even managed to water the indoor plants between her attentive service. The colorful, beautifully presented luncheon dishes with little paper doilies under each bowl of green mixed-variety salad, were generous servings of two large salmon patties with creamy dill sauce, and a baked sweet potato with a side of honey-cinnamon butter, and the other a huge 2.5 inch high wedge of a spinach & vegetable puff pastry pie, with two smaller slices of pumpkin bread. Our choices from their surprisingly extensive menu were okay---2 to 2.5 stars---but I'm pretty particular. The standouts were their DILL SAUCE, their sweet potato with HONEY-CINNAMON BUTTER (on ANYTHING---even your knife or finger...and NO, I didn't do THAT), their salad with HERB & CHEESE DRESSING (might be a Ranch-type---which I'm not a fan of---but theirs was very good, pale green, with a thinner than typical consistency), and their excellent, 5 star, moist, sweet, PUMPKIN BREAD, available for sale by the loaf. Luncheon menu prices seemed high---$10-$13---for the results, but likely due to overhead, being part of the Grand Pacific Junction experience. I can't remember, but I think most of the daily specials were less than that. Lots of fans, though. Check out reviews. BAKERY and GIFT SECTION, too. Down a short, L-shaped hallway is another dining room and a charming little country-type store with a refrigerated bakery case and a variety of gift items including small floral arrangements, teas, tea paraphernalia, homemade jams, and even jewelry. We were disappointed with the out-sourced Spiced Blueberry & Lemon jam. Runny-textured with a very strong cinnamon taste (listed ingredient). Good, but not what was expected. Maybe it was just that batch, so worth trying this one---or another. Found a silver-toned tea pot charm bracelet that I thought seriously about because it was so cute, but ended up leaving behind on the display hanger. If something isn't at least 14K gold, .925 sterling, stainless steel, silicone, or stunning sophisticated high-class plastic, because of sensitivities I have to admire mystery metal trinkets from a safe distance. Wonderful restaurant/tea room. We had my daughters bridal shower here and the food was excellent, the wait staff was friendly and very helpful. They even specially made the "naked cake" we asked for. Prices are very reasonable. First and foremost this place is indeed a quintessential tea room that can only be achieved in 'Grand Pacific Junction' where they are located. Nestled amongst boutique stores & old-world charm courtyard, and despite the light to medium food affair on the menu (which are quite well prepared), Clementine's niche is in the art of drinking tea. The tea experience is complete with brewed variety of loose leaf tea served in china pot, china tea cups and accompanied by individual old fashioned tea cup filters, and sugarcane sugar crystals. Clementine's is a great place for a girls' date, I hear there is a day spa nearby withing a few steps. Clementine's can also be a stop in a romantic date for a couple. A stop that may help to expose & encourage the soft caring and sensitive side of the relationship. Disclaimer for a commitment shy gentleman: be mindful that the ambiance of this place might lead to the question "... where is this relationship going? " :-) On the food affair, their salads and light sandwiches are perfect for lunch or early dinner weekdays or weekends. The portions are surprisingly large for the price. The items that change seasonally tend to stay true to the theme of the season and use seasonal ingredients to tie the taste to the season and to the ambiance. One needs to set their expectation accordingly before stepping into Clementine's. This place staying true to its theme of old world charm, does not provide fast service, does not really encourage grab & go atmosphere or pace. We visited Clementine's a few weeks ago and I was a bit disappointed. It's very quaint and old fashioned, which is fine with me. Definitely someplace your grandmother will love. But the food was not very good at all. The servings are large but the food is stuck in the 1970s. It was bland, old school, and not very good at all. Most of us didn't even finish our plates, including the desserts we bought to share. The grandmothers in our party loved the meals but anyone under 50 wished we'd gone somewhere else. And I know they say they're wheelchair accessible but that's not accurate. The place is so incredibly small that it could barely accommodate the very small wheelchair one of us was using. If she'd had a more substantial chair or something motorized we would not have been able to eat there. The place is tiny and a lot of seating is upstairs. We were crammed in so tight that we could barely get into our seats. And, to be honest, I was clear that they weren't pleased we had someone in a wheelchair with us. It was like we were an inconvenience. One of the servers was so rude that we were actually stunned by her behavior. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

Clementines is average food, average atmosphere and excellent chocolate cake. I had Nancy's Spinach Salad and it was decent. My wife had mixed green salad with sweet potato. She enjoyed it but hard to screw that up. My mother had a salmon burger and seemed to enjoy it. We split a piece of chocolate cake and it was awesome. The waitress was ok, and the counter staff was very good. I would rather cross the street and eat at Mooseheads. I do realize this is not my type of restaurant and if you like a tea house with old fashioned decor, it might be yours. read more

Tried this place because my mom saw it online and really wanted to try one of their desserts. We went for lunch. Okay, so I knew it was a Victorian cafe. I did. But it was pretty overpowering inside. Lots of plants and tablecloths and doilies. I tried to take it in stride until my lunch was served on a paper doily ( over the plate). I ordered salmon cakes, served w a sweet potato and salad, my mom got the quiche of the day. The food came in literally three minutes, generally a bad sign. Both were definitely just out of the microwave. I will go so far to say they MAY have been homemade, but if they were, it's too bad because to microwave heated food was worse than just a frozen dinner. Quiche was ok, had alot of cheese on top and microwave made it rubbary. no flavor. The salad had pecans on it which I liked, dressings were definitely not homemade, just FSA brand. We never even got dessert because the selection in the case was rather dismal. Too bad. Could have had character, but without great food, this is a miss. read more

What huge disappointment, I have heard about this place from friends, customers and vendors as well as ads for years. Once a month a few of my childhood friends and I get together for lunch and today was my day to pick and I picked this place. We were excited when we came in and we were greeted with a friendly hello and that was the end of a good experience. We went upstairs and seated ourselves, when the server came over she only brought two menus and it sounded like that was all she had available until one of the girls look over and saw 20 or 30 sitting on a table, so she got up a grabbed a few more. there were post cards inside the menu with the fall specials on them and as we read them we thought they sounded good. when we ordered the gazpacho soup from the specials, we were told, oh we don't serve that any more, and things went down hill from there. Even though none of us liked what we ordered the attitude of the server, the owners niece and the attitude of one of the owners was enough for us all to agree never again. the server argued with one of us about sourdough bread, which they claim they serve, obliviously they have never tasted real sourdough, then the owner asked us how we were doing and when we explained our complaints which were many, she did not apologize she acted like how dare you. I have been in the food business for 16 years and my one friend for 30+ and both of us were shocked. You will have good days and bad days in any business but there is a way to handle complaints actually 5 rules that I live by. 1. Apologize 2. Acknowledge 3. Fix the problem 4. Thank the customer 5. Document so every staff member can learn from it. read more

I had a bridal tea for my daughter at Clementine's on Sunday, July 28. We were able to have the garden room to ourselves and it was absolutely lovely. All of the entrees were beautiful and very tasty. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend Clementine's to anyone planning a shower or tea, or just a special lunch or dinner. My daughter has loved Clementine's since she was small and being able to celebrate there just before her wedding was very special. read more

So completely disappointed and disillusioned!!! We have gone to Clementine's for previous Mother's Day lunches. On this visit, 5/11/2014, the service was horrifying! Our waitress did not give us menus. I had to walk up and get them. Our waitress only brought two waters when I asked for five. Our waitress took over 20 minutes to bring a pot of tea (it's boiled water!!) and didn't bring cup to pour the tea into. They were out of scones. How can you run out of scones on Mother's Day???? The food took over 1 hour and 20 minutes to be served!!! What The Fudge??? And when the cashier (owner?) asked how everything was, she barely blinked when I told her how it was.... So, my sister and I were invited to a mother's day lunch with our mom, aunt, grandma, and cousins. My sister, mom, and I were arriving a little bit later than the others. We walked in the door and told the ladies at the front desk that we had a reservation with our family that had already arrived. The ladies looked over their scraps of paper for two seconds and told us we didn't have a reservation and that we had to leave. My mother described our family to them. It took them five minutes to realize what we were talking about. When we were finally welcomed into the restaurant (if it even deserves that title) we were seated at a tiny table in the back of the restaurant. It took them a fat minute, but we were finally asked what we wanted to drink. I ended up ordering a root beer and my sister got a chai tea. After waiting around 20 minutes we got our drinks. My root beer came without a cap and was flat, and my sister's tea was nowhere to be seen. We had to remind our waiter about her tea. 15 minutes later she brings her the tea and lets just say, it was was not worth the wait. It was lukewarm, and was mostly just milk. It was sickeningly sweet and did not remind her of tea in the slightest. Ironic, considering this is a tea place. Then it was time for us to order. I felt rushed so I decided on a vegetarian avocado sandwich with a pretzel bun. My sister and mother got the same thing. Finally, after what seemed like 45 minutes, we got our food. Again, not worth the wait. My sister and I took one bite of our sandwiches and wanted to gag. The bun was soggy and it was covered in what seemed to be lard. There was a pesto on the sandwich which can only be described as tasting like rotten tomatoes and had the consistency of tacky glue. We also got these macaroni mayo salads that we didn't ask for, on the side. I think that was even worse than the sandwich. We were so hungry from waiting around at this point, we had to force feed ourselves these abominations so called sandwiches. My sister ran to the bathroom because of how sick she felt, and came back telling me that the bathroom was so dark, that she could barely see herself in the mirror. I went to check it out and the door didn't even lock properly. She also told me that she passed by an open room with clear buckets of meat sauce sitting out... Gross. No body really seemed to like their meal. Even our little cousins couldn't stomach the peanut butter sandwiches they were served. How hard is it to make a peanut butter sandwich? On the car ride home, both my sister and I almost puked. Needless to say, we will never be returning. read more

Today is my birthday and my two daughters and granddaughter surprised me with a High tea at Clementine's Tea Room. What a beautiful room. There are other rooms but they choose the Garden room. The food was excellent and I could not believe how reasonably priced it was . Being from Florida I have gone to many Tea rooms, they're so much more pricey in Florida . The service at Clementine's was excellent and such a pleasant lady our waitress was . The food was so delicious and I really enjoy my never ending pot of hot Tea. I can't wait to return for another High Tea for my daughters birthday,this month. I would definitely recommend a visit to Clementine's to all my family and friends . Clementine's is a great place to stop for a salad or sandwich and tea. It is very charming, however, they do not always keep to their posted hours. Yesterday, we stopped by at 7:15 PM and they were closed even though we could see there were people still eating inside. We called and asked the manager why they were closed at that time since their posted closing time was 9:00 PM and she said they were experimenting with closing times. We were disappointed by this answer. My only suggestion would be to call ahead and make sure Clementine's is open especially if you are planning on going there during evening hours. read more

I have been a frequent customer at Clementine's since I was in high school (and I'm in my mid 40's now). My friend Kelly and I would visit for lunch often as high school kids. My husband and I had our first date here. I had one of my daughter's Christening receptions at Clementine's. My Brownie troop had its Christmas teas here. It's a part of our lives in no small way. The food has always been excellent all these many years. Their chicken salad is legendary. Their Italian dip is fantastic with soft onion, gooey cheese and a dip that is divine. Their macaroni salad has cucumber and red pepper with a light taste that is refreshingly different than what you get most places. The soups are the real show stoppers here -- they sell a cookbook with them and we own it. My mother and niece love the turkey with the honey mustard sauce they're known for as well. The Devonshire cream is to DIE for with jam on a scone. The bread is soft and fresh baked with herb butter on the side. The teas are fantastic and I am a huge tea snob! I buy brands like Mariage Freres teas from France and Piper and Leaf (front porch tea etc.). Their Blue Eyes and Strawberry Kiwi are great iced and all teas and coffees can be purchased on site. They rim the glasses in sugar which is such a treat. My girls get lemonade in a glass boot with sugar on the rim & I know it's one of those things they look forward to and that they'll remember all their lives. There's so much to look at while dining at Clementines. The the decor is almost all for sale along with many gift options. Louise, who works here and makes most of their window treatments, aprons and such, has become a dear friend. She makes this place an absolute gem and such a sight to behold year-round. She is gifted beyond words! Visit during the holidays -- it'll do your soul good to sit for a spell and have a cuppa and a scone. This is a place not to be missed if you're in the area. It's a lady's tea house that your husband will actually not mind visiting with you because the food is so good. Did I mention the beef burgundy is comfort food at its best? That the salmon cakes were loved by mother and husband? Quiches served daily? Soft, deliciously dressed hot sweet potatoes on the menu? Salad options abound including Thai and several seasonal favorites? The staff become friends as well if you visit often and they're always so hospitable. I could go on and on about this beloved establishment. I don't know what I'd do if this place ever went away. I hope it never does. read more

This is one of our all-time favorite restaurants. Other people have talked about how charming, cozy and historic Clementine's is, and that's all very true. I just want to focus on how really well prepared and delicious the food is, and how warm and welcoming the women who own and run it are. We've been going there for years, and when my mother would visit Ohio, this was her must do restaurant. The food is consistently good with several vegetarian options - my wife's favorite dish is the vegetable bake (one of their specials) and it's one of the best things we've ever eaten. Really. Incredible taste and texture. I love the beef bourguignon (seasonal special?). Their 'Lucifer' - a chocolate cake so good that when my mother (an admitted chocoholic) visited here, 3 of us shared a piece there, took a piece home... and then she made us stop by a couple days later to bring a piece home. Their home-made lemonade is enough of a reason to go there. In the summer, sitting outside with lemonade and the triple treat salad - can't beat it. If someone asked me for the best way for visitors to have a quintessential small town Ohio experience (both for the people and the setting) this place would be it. read more

I was looking for this kind of restaurant to have a girls day out with my mom and sister. I remembered how charming Olmsted Falls is, and found this gem on Yelp. It was exactly what I hoped it would be! They have a Victorian decor and the seating areas are very nice. There is a great selection of tea, and it's served in individual pots with loose tea which you strain. Raw sugar is on the table. The tea alone was worth it, but the menu is great, and I saw many things I would have liked to try. My roasted eggplant sandwich was amazing, as well as the cheese cauliflower soup. We didn't get to dessert, but we will definitely be going back to try some someday soon! read more

I was with a group of 10 senior citizens who had lunch at Clementine's this week. I'm rather particular about restaurants I'm patronizing for the first time, but I must say that this was a pleasant surprise: cozy Victorian ambiance, excellent service, a surprisingly diverse menu catering to a wide variety of tastes, generous portions, and reasonable prices. I had the vegetarian bake--sun dried tomatoes, spinach, cheese, et. al. in a two-crust puff pastry shell. Yummy. Served with moist pumpkin bread and a side salad. I am so sad to have to change my review. I was in Cleveland briefly on vacation and was so excited to stop in here! I missed all the servers, the owners and the great food! My father, my stepdaughter, my daughter and myself stopped in around 4:00 roughly and walked into a slow dining room. There were 3 ladies that walked in before us and evidently knew the lady who was at the register that day. I am not kidding when I say she glanced at me several times and talked with this group of ladies for almost 10 minutes without actually acknowledging is once. I was on the verge of walking out when a server saw us and seated us. The food was good even with the oven being broken. I genuinely love this place but this was such a disappointment that I'm not sure if I'll go back next time I'm in town. read more

This review is based on two separate visits. First was lunch while shopping the local shops, I ordered iced tea and a sandwich, and was deeply disappointed. The sandwich was not good, however it had things on it that I wasn't sure I would like to begin with so I can't really hold that against them. My iced tea on the other hand was old. It had that old tea taste. Making tea at home, the tea usually gets that taste after 3 or 4 days. When I told the server and asked for something else she didn't know what I was talking. Like she didn't understand that iced tea does go bad. She brought me another tea that was fine eventually. The second visit was a private party and everything was great. Drinks good, food great, staff friendly and help full. The only thing possible off putting was the menu listed a roast beef sandwich that had beets on it without mentioning the beets. Had I ordered that I would have been unhappy, not knowing to expect beets. I will return here again I the future. read more

We visited Clementines on Mothers day. Great presentation but the taste did not fit the presentation. The roast beef was dry and thin, the salmon cakes were made up of too much breading, eggplant sandwich was very bland...little taste. I have been a fan of Clementine's for years. It's a favorite with all the girls in my family. I love the quaint old building, the waitresses aprons, and the decor. I have always found the staff to be attentive, friendly, and courteous. Can't say that I have ever had a bad meal there either. I especially love their soups and their chicken salad. The salads and sandwiches are also delicious. The tea selection is quite good and go well with a scone, jam , and cream. Yummy. I was so surprised to read not so great reviews and that someone actually did not like the food. I have never met anyone that didn't love Clementine's. I do think the price of the high tea is a bit much. That's the only negative I have and that I wish they were open later. read more
