My fiance & I have frequented this establishment since moving to the community. We will NOT be returning, as well as spreading our most recent experience with the surrounding community. We went out Thursday night, to celebrate my fiance's recent accomplishment. We sat at one of the bar booths. Towards the end of our meal, my fiance asked me to turn and look at a gentleman at the bar who was staring at her. I turned, but not far enough. Nearly 5 minutes pass & I see her growing more uncomfortable. So I turn and look again. This time I looked back far enough to see a man staring directly at her, not breaking eye contact for a second. I stood up, blocking his view of her. With our server no where in sight, we walked up to the bar to pay our bill. As we were paying our bill this man stood up, and walked past us, to sit down at the table closest to the exit. As he walked past me I noticed the, rather large, tote bag he was carrying. As we left, this man hollered for our attention, only to tell us that he hoped we'd have good night, as he eyed my fiance up and down one last time. We walked out the door only to find that in the VERY FIRST parking space there was a man sitting in the driver's seat of a utility truck. He watched us walk to our car, never breaking eye contact with me. This experience, although it has nothing to do with the service or employees themselves, is unsettling & in my opinion requires some attention. Unfortunately when we went back to the draft house to share this with the General manager, we were told that not only did he "not have the time" (for paying customers) but that "every manager is just too busy." This type of response, is down right sad, & unprofessional. This situation could have been much worse than it turned out to be. Furthermore, I would think that you would want your customers to feel safe within your establishment. This is no longer the case for my fiance. I'm sorry that you "don't have the time" to discuss an issue such as patron safety within your establishment. I can only hope that upon reading this SOMEONE will take the time to review your DVR. Thursday night, we arrived shortly before 10pm, I was wearing grey shorts, a black polo, and a grey batman cap with a neon bill. My fiance had on blue jean capris and a black shirt. The gentleman we had an issue with was sitting at the bar, two or three people to the right of the gentleman in the salmon colored polo. He was an older guy, grey shirt, and had a baseball cap on. We have been there several times since they opened the Clayton location and have been pleased with the service and food. There have been a couple of times we were placed on a wait list for a table, but were usually seated in 15 minutes. Decent selection of food choices, a little something for everyone. Service was great, anytime a server keeps my beverage full is a good day as I drink a lot of water and soda. Recommend it to everyone. read more

We went on a Saturday night at about 630. We were expecting to wait due to the parking lot being very crowded. When we walked in we were greeted and sat immediately. Our waitress Kelly was AWESOME! She greeted us got our drinks in a timely manner. She took our order and kept up with our drinks. We got our appetizer quickly. We got pickle chips they were good, but some of them were very hot and others barely luke warm. The burgers and fries we got were great. OMG!!! My server Logan was the bomb.com. She knows her craft and knows how to sell food. I had the corn beef Reuben and the grilled wings, my fiancée had a house salad and the blackened chicken alfredo. Everything was great. I mean i even talked to one of the owners. The teriyaki chicken was way too salty and NOT sweet at all. Two of us got the chicken. We brought it to the waitress's attention. She took the two meals to the kitchen and came back and said she would give us one meal free but didn't give an explanation as to the problem. When asked she said it was how the meat was marinated and grilled Then said the cooks put too much sauce on it. But none of that explained why there was NO sweetness it was more like soy sauce! I went to the Cleveland Ale House tonight at 9 PM thinking I would have some drafts and some dinner. I sat at the bar and waited several minutes. There were 3 people working behind the bar and NOT ONE of them came up and tossed me a coaster when I sat down and asked me what I wanted to drink. This is not the first time this has happened to me...but it will be the last time. POOR CUSTOMER service when it comes to the bartending. There wasn't even a hostess at the front when you walk in, even though I didn't need one since I was planning on sitting at the bar and have a meal. I would have to say that the Management is ABSENT when it comes to looking over this place. I cant even give this place a single star. 10 mins to order a beer. 22 mins to order a salad. 34 mins w out anyone asking me how everything was. Can I get you another beer mind you I'm sitting in front of the glass cooler and about 20+drafts were served in that 34 mins. 3 new bartenders came on shift and still not a single person asked how everything was or if I needed anything. Best bet is to go down the road to Carolina ale house at least there you get prompt service. To top it off when I put a 20 down to pay my tab the fat bastatd behind the bar just kept the 2.87$ guess he thought he earned that. Never going back to this place. We live very close and have been to the Draft house on Shotwell MANY times. While the food is consistent good, the service is spotty. Tonight was atrocious! Our server got our order completely wrong, after letting the staff who delivered our food to the table it was incorrect, she REFUSED to come over and even acknowledge us or even apologize. She never asked us if we needed drinks or anything. They never brought my food, they brought 1/2 of my daughters order after my husband was already finished eating. The manager came to apologize and comped my husbands and daughters meal (I never got any of my food). He was very nice. As we were leaving, since we were told our bill was taken care of and we never saw our rude waitress again, she chased us into the lobby and demanded we pay for my husbands beer ($2.50!) . Which I had no problem doing, but she never even brought us a check. I don't think I have ever had a worse server or service. She is clearly in the wrong business! Hopefully she will get some additional training on customer service. read more

Waited an hour at our table for the food. (Came in about 1:30 on a Sunday). Waited probably ten minutes before I got my water refilled. When the food got there, it was mediocre. We eagerly awaited the opening of this restaurant, as most know- there is not many dinner options in Clayton. SO disappointed. First, the layout of this place is horrible! Whoever designed it should get a new line of work. It was made with the emphasis on the pool table and bar patrons in mind, NOT the people there to eat. Sitting in one big room in the middle with just a window at the front by the hallway= terrible atmosphere. No dividers between tables, so it feels like a banquet hall with no privacy. People and servers kept squeezing by and bumping into the back of our chairs since there is no room in there. Food was average at best. Nothing at all to rave about with the four dinners we got. I cannot express my disappointment enough- my family and I will NOT be back EVER. We will continue to go to Garner or Knightdale for our dining. read more

We had an overbearing waiter named Rick who wouldn't stop talking over us. We are convinced he was high on drugs. My mother in law and I ordered the calabash platter which came with shrimp, crab cakes and fried fish. We ordered cheese fries which was the only thing edible. When our platters came out, the crab cakes were burnt and had no flavor. The fries were burnt. The fish was loaded in grease and undercooked. You could tell the cooking oil hadn't been changed. We told the waiter who didn't care but luckily did pass us on to the manager who was working two jobs training the new kitchen manager and was the bar manager and assistant general manager. The fish tasted of nothing but grease. The manager changed out our fish and crab cakes for more shrimp. The only decent seafood. When the plate came back out, the fries were fresh and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. It was obvious the cooking oil had been changed. We were charged the price $14.99 of the calabash platter instead of the $11.99 of the shrimp plate. This is ridiculous as we didn't eat the fish or crab cakes because they were disgusting. My husband and I had this as our favorite place after our first visit a month ago. We now do not recommend and do not wish to return. Food subpar at best. read more

Lights go on at 1:45 and the EXTREMELY rude & unprofessional bouncer start immediately telling everyone they have to leave NOW! I was sitting at a table waiting on a friend at 2:05, was asked to start making my way to the door. I told the bouncer Raleigh that I was driving a friend that had too much to drink & would try to start getting him going. He told me & I quote "I Don't give a F*ck who you are waiting on, you need to start making your way to the door!" So apparently they don't care about the people or if they get home safe, so why in the F*ck should anyone care about giving that place ANY business. I have been in the service industry for over 25yrs, and know what good customer service can do for a place, & what Shitty/rude customer service will eventually do for the business. With employees like that, this place will be gone in no time. I have visited the Cleveland Draft House on 2 occasions. My latest visit was Thursday, 6/22/17. The service at this location is horrible. My first visit I went directly to the bar. I sat there for almost 30 minutes and was never asked for what I wanted. My latest visit I went again directly to the bar. After about 10-15 minutes a waitress finally asked to take my order. I ordered a beer and a menu. I looked over the menu and set it closed in front of me within 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I finished my beer and no one came over to ask for my food order. So I paid for my bar tab and walked out. I will never go back to the location again. They were very well staffed but there service is horrible. read more

We go on Sundays quite often and sit in the bar area. I like the booths because they have outlets for your phone since we are there for long periods of time for football. Brad and the other bartenders are all super attentive and helful. The food runners are fast. It's not gourmet food at all but it's bar food and it's consistent. read more

I should probably wait to review this place more thoroughly, however stopped in, for a 'to-go' lunch order yesterday and can comment on the sandwich, and the general atmosphere of the place. So was out shopping and on the way home stopped in to pick up a Kentucky wrap. Chicken and dressing was delish, albeit very messy (maybe larger wraps, folded better?). Cole slaw was a bit sweet for my taste, but I enjoyed the sandwich! My only concern is the restaurant section size... The building is huge! I expected to see a large restaurant, with ample seating however was quite surprised that only about a third of the place was dedicated to just that. Large middle section of the building is the hostess station and waiting area, and to the left of that, a super large bar with, what appeared to be about ten pool tables! Place was rocking this Sat a bit before noon, with lots of people walking in with custom pool sticks! WHO KNEW pool was such a big thing in Clayton?! Just a warning for those looking to grab dinner, be prepared for a WAIT! The hostesses said you need to come in early or late, to avoid a wait and I can see why. I know there's another Cleveland Draft House in Garner, and if this is the second location, I'm guessing the owners said, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. As mentioned in previous reviews Clayton has SUCH limited options for a decent place to grab, even a casual, bite it seems too bad this place is more of a pool hall with a small dining room. I do wish them well however! Perhaps...when I'm not TOO hungry, and I have the time to wait... I will stop back in for dinner. =]~ read more

7 o'clock on Tuesday, 10/18, I came here with my daughter to teach her to play pool. I walked in, the hostess looked up at me, and looked right back down to her iPhone. WOW! She didn't even acknowledge me. Maybe she's just having a bad night, i assumed, because I have worked in a restaurant before. I headed to the bar and stood there for about 20 minutes. Every time the bartender walked by me, i said, "Excuse me ma'am?" to ask for a pool table. She kept ignoring me. We never ended up playing pool. We couldn't even order something to drink!
