I was called back within 1 hour of me dropping off my sons pc to let me know what exactly what was wrong. I've purchased 3 of my computers here and when I need upgrades, add on's or a glitch comes up then Andy is my go to guy. He always knows exactly what's needs to be done for what ever unit I take in. I brought in an iPad that fell in the water. This type of repair is somewhat indeterminate, but they diagnosed it to the motherboard. But since they couldn't get a new motherboard quickly, offered an equivalent replacement iPad, which is working great so far. Overall, I'm pleased with the result, but it took over a month (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Do not bring your computer here! They deleted important medical documents and photos from my computer. I asked them to do a virus scan not delete important medical documents. For a person recovering from a serious medical issue they are horrible! No star should be the review. I didn't change any settings. My files were removed. Please don't gaslight me in to thinking it was something I did. I'll get an independent review and post the findings. Not from my doing! read more

The flicking laptop saga continues... it's taken me a while to write this updated review because my screen is still flickering. (See previous review for details) Anthony called me the next day after seeing my Yelp review, left me a message apologizing stating that 1) A lot of customers do not hit the submit button after they sign for payment approval - so he typically does this and did not realize how wrong it is to do this 2) He did not hear my fiancee say that the laptop just flickered before proceeding to approve payment without my consent 3) He would refund me $100 because that amount is just a tiny fraction of the business they get and it's more important that they do the right ethical thing (not sure why he had to tell me $100 means nothing to them) 4) I would have to come back into the store to get this refund because I would need to re-insert my credit card and sign again.. So I got my refund and he again apologized in person. He did offer to take a look at my laptop again, but I declined. Adding +1 star for the refund and reaching out to me immediately after my Yelp review. We're all human, we make mistakes and we learn from them. The staff were extremely communicative and kept me apprised on progress and when parts would arrive. I've had Geek Squad computer support for many years. Over the years I periodically call in for laptop tuneup and remove viruses. It seemed to me the service was getting shorter and shorter. I was also having potential battery issues and the fix was too complicated. A friend of mine told me about ClickAway on Winfield. I went there and Kevin took care of me. We have a small business and I do our billing and paperwork on the weekend. Saturday morning I got my coffee and went into my home office to do paperwork. I got the dreaded blue screen on our server. Tried everything i could but could not get it to boot. No server + no billing for the month... I called Click Away and talked to Ashor and explained my issues. He told me to bring it in and he would see if he could help. I did this at 11am Saturday morning.. turns out it was a failed hard drive (we have a raid set up). He gave me the information on the drive and sent me to a computer store to pick up a new drive. They installed the new drive, reconfigured the computer, and, I am happy to say, all is working well!! I picked up the computer at a little after 5.. Ashor kept the store open so I could get it. I can not say enough about the service. I took it into Clickaway and they were able to test each individual part on my pc to figure out what was wrong. I got a call back with unfortunate news that I had pieces beyond repair, however, they were able to give me an incredible turnaround on my PC and I was able to start editing projects right away. I would avoid this place if possible. Brought my MacBook Pro in to diagnose what was wrong with it. Turned out I had a bad hard drive cable. Was it fixed? Nope. The tech did not find out that the cable was bad until after he reinstalled OSX and charged me $150. He only booted the computer once after installing OSX and called me to say it was fixed. I also brought my Macbook Pro in with 2 drives installed, and received it back with one. Now I am out $150, have my 2nd drive uninstalled for no reason and still have a faulty cable. read more

Cannot say enough positives about Click Away's San Jose service team and, in particular, about Sean G.! Sean went above and beyond the call to try to get to the issues (and there were several) that were causing our teenage son's BRAND NEW (45 day old, which, of course, was after the return period) computer. I'll spare the mundane details because the important part when considering a service provider is the service... during the entire 10+ day ordeal, Sean kept us updated to make sure that we knew what he had done and called us before any actions were taken that might result in additional costs. When most repair shops likely would have given up because the time spent trying to identify the issue was certainly not going to turn a profit, Sean (and his manager) kept at it and never showed any frustration or impatience even though it was obvious that this Click Away location is very busy. Honestly, I would not have blamed Sean and his manager if they had told me that the issue was irreparable and sent me on my way. It would have sucked to tell my son that his brand new computer was now just a huge, expensive paperweight. But, thanks to Sean and his manager, my son has been gaming away, doing his homework (kinda), etc., for the past few days and NONE of the issues that had rendered his PC unusable are completely gone! As a parent, I cannot thank Sean and his manager enough for how relieved and happy my son is now! BTW, during all the visits to their shop, my son and I were surprised by how many tech items they repair - PCs and Macs, of course, but we saw Sean and the Click Away Team dealing with Playstation controllers, various gaming consoles, routers, UPS units, etc. They even will perform onsite visits. Forgot to mention - Sean also had driven out to our house free of charge to pick up the rogue PC after the third issue surfaced because he thought it would make it easier for me due to my work schedule and felt sorry for us even though the issue had nothing to do with his excellent work. Click Away may not have made a tremendous (or any) profit after all the time spent on our issue, but they have earned a family of customers for life and I will tell anyone that will listen, do not hesitate to turn to Click Away for your electronic repair needs! I had broken the screen of my MacBook Air 1 week into the shelter in place order in California, meaning all of the Apple stores were closed. My mom recommended ClickAway to me because she had used them years ago to fix her iPhone and remembered them providing good service. Good service is a HUGE understatement. I went in Monday afternoon expecting to not have access to my laptop for 2 weeks to get it repaired, or at least that is what the AppleSupport lady on the phone had guessed my issue would take to fix. I was assisted immediately as I entered the store. Everything was very clean and they were very sensitive to the "social distancing" guidelines that were set forth as part of the "shelter in place." I then filled out my information and they told me they'd give me a call as soon as their free diagnostic was completed. The next day I received a call from Ashor with the diagnosis and an approximate price with a few alternative options for myself, like buying a new computer from them. The amount was a little out of my price range, but Ashor was quick to work with me to come up with a solution that matched my budget. Once we agreed he then drove to a different location to get the piece I needed for my specific computer and was able to bring it back to his store and fix my computer, update it, and have it ready for pick-up the next day at noon. Throughout the entire process Ashor was texting me updates to keep me in the loop and when I came to pickup my laptop it was ready for me to grab and go. An expensive 2 week process turned into an affordable, two day turn around. I would HIGHLY recommend ClickAway to anyone that needs help with any tech issues!!!!! My company's IT Dept. recommended Clickaway last March when my 3 year old pc was beginning to have problems. I visited their store and received an extensive diagnostic test from Edward Lizardo and recommendations for making it like new. It was well worth the small investment. I had a problem this week and called Edward in their Almaden store location. He not only remembered me and my company, he was able to pull up the history on my computer and the work that was done. He then drove to my workplace and solved my frozen computer within 90 minutes at no additional cost. Now that's great service! I brought my 2008 iMAC into ClickAway on Winfield Blvd. last week because my video card died. I was praying that they would be able to retrieve all my data & programs from my hard drive.
