We're traveling the country in our van and this place is in the Harvest Host program so they have us a safe place to park for the night. First off the old building that they're in is so cool and drenched in history, a basement with underground tunnels, an old (very big) dumb waiter that they use to haul the kegs up from the basement (and it's human powered not electric) and of course ghosts! Great dog friendly stop in Grants Pass. Weather was a bit dicey in late March, so we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful little garden patio seating, but the friendly folks invited Luna and I in for dinner and some craft beer. I'm from California but my friend lives 30 minutes away from GP and I happened to see the sign for it one day so we stopped in. Loved it so much we came back the next day. Cool place with live music and had a nice duo called Angelic Noise, when we visited. They went out of their way to accommodate our dog so really appreciated that a lot. I joined three colleagues for a work lunch at Climate City a few days ago and am so glad I didn't opt for a snack in my car kind of lunch. I enjoyed my fish and chips entree, and the super attentive server didn't skip a beat and accepted my customization of substituting a side salad instead of the fries - and I was happy to see a rather generous size side salad, in addition to the coleslaw that comes with the order regardless. The blue cheese dressing was chunky and thicker, almost not runny, but I enjoyed it so very much, it had a great strong flavor. TLDR: Not sensitive to food allergies, disrespectful waitstaff who didn't make it right in the end. Don't waste your time. Are negative stars a thing? WOW! As someone who works in the service industry, I have NEVER had worse service and been more disrespected as a guest. I will NEVER come back, I will NEVER recommend this place and I WILL continue to tell the town how horrible they are. Want to hear more? Here's what happened: 1- From the very beginning the waitress was rude and uninterested in helping us. The person I was with has dietary restrictions and therefore we had some questions about the ingredients they use. Questions like "what kind of ingredients are in your pesto?" (Which we found out is made with canola oil- how cheap can you be), "what's your veggie burger made of?", "is there dairy in that?". The waitress had no idea, and instead of working with us, listening to us and understanding what we needed - would storm off, slam her book shut and say "I have no idea, let me find out". (Definitely would have saved her a lot of trips if she listened the first time). 2- The first time she came to our table, I ordered a beer, it never showed and when I reminded her, she had no idea what I had ordered. So I politely told her what I wanted. Apparently what I wanted, the keg had just blown, so she brought me a beer "that was similar", told me "don't worry, I didn't charge you for it, but if you like it, let me know, or I'll get you something else". I felt so pressured and uncomfortable in this situation, I just said "yeah, this is fine". In the end SHE CHARGED ME FOR IT. What. I would never charge a guest for something they didn't even order. 3- We finally decided on our meal. Pizza. The person I was with, with dietary restrictions elected for the "make your own", perfect. We told the waitress everything we wanted on the pizza. Specifically leaving off a cheese selection although we did not say "no cheese". Thinking this was pretty obvious seeing as we had selected the crust, the sauce and the toppings - if it naturally came with cheese, the server would ask, right? WRONG. Our pizza came out with cheese. Do you know what she said when it came out (one hour later) with cheese and we couldn't eat it "ANY NORMAL PERSON WOULD HAVE ASSUMED CHEESE CAME ONE IT". This was extremely isolating to someone who has dietary restrictions. Am I not normal? Am I a problem? What's wrong with me? WOW. A server, a restaurant and somewhere you are spending money should NEVER make you feel like this. 4- Our server got so defensive that she walked away from our table and never returned. The manager came over to try to understand the situation. However, the manager was more condescending, didn't put the guest first and didn't necessarily make it right. Even though she had the pizzas re-made without cheese, we were still charged the full amount. I have never felt more uncomfortable and unwelcome in a place where I was paying for a service. I left thirsty (our waters will refilled once and sat empty for over an hour), hungry and honestly hurt because of their inability to accommodate basic human needs. Unless you want to overpay for sub par food, have no food related sensitivities and want to wait hours for food when it's not even that busy, don't waste your time. read more

I didn't have a great experience the first time I came here but I later realized there was a lot going on that day I was not aware of. I actually got a call back from the owner himself a d he was MORE than apologetic and kind! He listened to everything I had to say and all of my feedback and even offered to refund my entire meal worth $60. I believe that this place was just having a really crazy day with multiple parties of over 20 people and bands setting up for music right as we were coming in. I will definitely be back because the small town kindness that was shown meant a lot to me and I want to support small local places like this. The location and setting is really cool!! Great beer selection, awesome pub menu and so many gluten free options. The chicken pot pie is phenomenal and the gluten crust pizza was so good. Tonight was our date night and we chose Climate City Brewing to order 3 appetizers from. The grilled cauliflower, grilled brussel sprouts, and the cod street tacos. We called the order in at 6:28 and was told 15 minutes. Since we only live minutes away, we stopped at the store to kill a little time. We arrived at 6:44 and was told that they needed another 5 minutes. We sat outside by the fire pit, assuming that our order was coming right up. 15 minutes later and nothing. We had to walk inside to check on our order and the guy who was standing at the bar just looked at us and said "Ya?" We told him that we had been waiting for a half hour for our appetizers and again, all he said was "Ya? A server was walking by and overheard. She said that they were just waiting on the Cod for the Street tacos. We waited another 5 minutes and finally had enough. We told the server with the southern accent what was going on and that we weren't going to wait any longer. She was very sweet and apologetic. They were not very busy at all and 35 minutes to wait on 3 appetizers sounds like a bad episode of Kitchen Nightmares. As someone who worked in the food service industry for many years as a manager, I can attest that this should NEVER have happened. As a manager, it is your responsibility to MAKE IT RIGHT, PERIOD. Been here a few times and always walk away happy. I find their beer to be delicious and well priced. I've also tried the pizza and burgers, both were great. Their covered patio is large and set next to a little stream, so great ambiance. Steam distillery is right next door and has the best homemade liquors and drinks in town. Overall, a wonderful place to dine. I would love to see the menu have some fun changes/add-ons or specials through out the year to bring it up a notch. read more

This place never disappoints! Been here twice with my family and the dog. They were very accommodating to my dog being there, which for me, any place my dog is allowed is automatically a favorite. First visit today meeting friends. No negatives... at all. It was such a pleasant late lunch/early dinner. A very comfortable meal. The 4 of us each had burgers (3 Diablos and one veggie.. which isn't on the menu/???). Included were generous servings of hot and fresh fries (potato, sweet potato, and tots.) So I have to say it's been about a year and a half since we have been here and the last time was lack luster for us. We decided to give it another try and it did not disappoint! Come here for the beer, stay for???? Took a long while to get service although the bar was busy with 2 servers and bartender talking to each other. We almost left (funny because we did leave 2 yrs ago because our waitress left her shift, didn't put in our food order and we sat there for an hour before anyone could tell us what happened) but decided to wait patiently in an almost empty restaurant. I'd say get the pizza because the menu options otherwise are poor and have dwindled down to about nothing. I've tried to like this place but between the spotty service and minimal menu it's hard too. I observed people mainly came to drink and then left. Love this place. Happy hour, incredible food and great service! Not to mention the great beer on tap. However, I walked out on my last visit because a dog was in the bar. So before you make assumptions let me assure you I love animals and I know the b.s. law that allows folks to be accompanied by their "service animals" in food establishments that are otherwise regulated by strict health standards to ensure a patron's safety. I can't do anything about an existing law but I can leave in protest when a restaurant allows animals that are not wearing the required vest to designate them as a legal service animal. read more

I am so glad I kept searching on Yelp for a good place for dinner. I didn't think to search for brew pubs as a category - just restaurants - and it took several pages for Climate City to come up. I've learned to dig deep on Yelp when searching for a place to eat. Climate City was really, really good. It's kind of off the beaten track - needed Waze to find it. Loved the ambiance. The service was excellent. We sat in the bar, and we were promptly waited upon. I ordered the Diablo burger without a bun and tater tots. I just need to say there was enough food on my plate to serve a small nation, and it was absolutely delicious. I felt guilty leaving so much on my plate - they served me more tots than I would have cooked at home for my family of 3. My husband ordered the Thai pizza, and it was also way more food than one person could eat, but he actually snarfed down half and we saved the rest for lunch the next day on the road. The beers were really special. I hardly ever order a 2nd beer, but we both savored the beer we were served. I wish I could have bought some to take home, but at this time it's only served on tap. You could get a growler, but I don't think it would have traveled well. Can't say enough good things about Climate City. A winner. read more

Everybody should check this place out! Clean, fun, scrumptious and full of personality! We loved the ambiance, the beers, tried the stout on tap, the red on tap and the root beer. Service was amazing. Lu-Lu was a hoot and never wrote down our order, and nailed it! We had a lot of fun! They have board games and games of whit as well as a nice dance floor, lots of seating variety. The Kobe burger was abundant, flavorful and more than I expected. Order medium rare if you like medium. The pizza was huge and worth the price. Flavorful, abundant and lots of infused flavors. The chicken Mediterranean was good but didn't quite stack up to the burger or the pizza in abundance or flavor. Still, the sides just keep coming. Side salads are good sized. Ceaser salad was delicious and had a wonderful dressing. Everything was just right! Mugs, club membership, things to purchase. The perfect community gathering place!
