This has been the best experience I've encountered with contractors. I have owned the same house since 1988. Daniel, who came out to estimate my needs, which entailed the replacement of 31 windows in all, was very professional, personable, and a good listener. The same can be said for the crew that was sent out, including the foreman, Dimitry. In only 4 days, they removed the original windows (My house was built in 1923), cleaned up well, installed the new double hung windows on my brick bungalow, and replaced the basement windows with glass block. I had climate guard casement windows installed 9 years ago on the recommendation of the contractor I was using for several remodeling projects at that time. I had never heard of them before. I'm happy with their performance over nine years with one small exception. I like to open the windows when weather permits. On windy days, the screens can get dislodged on the larger windows. The reason for the four star rating. The cranks for opening and closing have performed flawlessly and the keep the house very comfortable overall. No issues with drafts, leaks or condensation. And they still look like new. A very good value for the price. I'd recommend redesigning your screen retention pins. read more

This is by far one of the worse vendors I have ever done business with in my rehab or personal home experience. Windows were purchased through this vendor by way of my contractor. Windows ordered in June did not come in until October! This after being told month over month that they are ready, and then not ready. In October when they came in, they were ALL wrong. None of them laminate as ordered, and grid lines in the wrong color. Now we are in November. The installer shows up today and I find out he only have 7 of the 9 windows. Despite speaking to managers and Michelle countless times confirming the order- this order is still not completely fulfilled. The house remains with a hole in it (where a new window was cut out) in November when temps are dropping under 30 degrees. I would not wish this experience on anyone. Out of desperation I called two other window companies, including home depot who came out to size for new windows (which would be at a loss to me financially), and learned exactly what poor quality ClimateGuard windows are also. Wow, talk about horrible customer service, follow-up and quality! Total nightmare. I had the simplest of tasks to have completed: a new window sash due to broken glass in current one. I brought the broken one in as a reference and to measure off of. 6 weeks later or more I get the new sash...BUT they made it too narrow. So, they ask me again to bring the broken and new window back, leaving my first-floor tenant windowless again and boarded up. I am told one day turnaround, 2 days later I call and they tell me the new one was completed but then someone broke the glass! So, now another day until it's completed for the 3rd time. What a cluster and the worst part is the non-apologetic and nonchalant approach by everyone is this place. I'd avoid if possible... I will report back tomorrow if I ever get a window sash that's operational and the right size! read more

My brother used climate guard for his windows, he recommended I get quoted. I called and Antonio came by and had a quote out within a couple days, the lead time was a bit long, but he warmed me that same day he came out to measure, I bit the bullet and they were installed just last week. I love love love love the new windows. The screens slide from side to side which is so much better than the old ones that had to be completely removed. As a third floor condo I constantly had to get them redone because I washed the carpets and the hoses needed to get put through the windows. The windows have a tint which definately makes a difference, the condo isnt a sauna anymore which saves me money since I dont need to run the window AC's all day to keep it cool. Overall, I love and recommend ClimateGuard, I have a second condo that will be getting these windows when it's time to replace. read more

Horrible service starting from the front desk you have to wait until they are done gossiping so they will see you paid $1,200 for a glass door they send me to the loading dock and i waited 40 minutes there just to get the door the guys got all mad because i knocked my door has been ready but somehow it took 40 minutes for this lazy guys to look for a door i would not recommend this place at all i didn't ask for a free door i come all happy and they ruined the entire day because i had to wait so long i have customers waiting for me understand the business hire new people that wanna work so your business gets better if your front desk doesn't understand the fact that a paying customer is waiting and have other things to do besides stand around there and listen to your gossip. The home we purchased in 2015 has Climate Guard Windows (installed 2007). There is only a ONE YEAR WARRANTY. This is a company that should advertise BUYER BEWARE...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR EVERY (all 16 of them)window has an issue with function!! Leaks between panes with fogging, issues with sliding up and down and WORSE OF ALL ALL have had the cheap plastic clips snap off so the window of opened crashes down!!!! THAT IS THE REVIEW OF THE QUALITY OF WINDOW-- NOW let's go onto customer service..... RUDE. NOT HELPFUL. SARCASTIC. The man in the service department who answers the phone is SOOOO RUDE AND SUCH A JERK that I honestly think "Climate Guard" would be better off having an answering service and not speaking to anyone. There are A LOT of window companies out there; from top of the line brand name to mom and pop. Do your research and stay clear of this company. Installed 8 UltraView 2550 vinyl windows, with double pane argon gas windows. This was to replace the original (1927) windows, very old and leaky and terrible to look at. The new windows made the rooms feel so new, and fresh, quite a pleasant surprise beyond having operable windows, with full screens now. Daniel Minguez, our salesman, was really easy to work with, and took all our needs into consideration. Really nice experience, again. I neglected to mention that this was the second house we used Climate Guard for replacing windows in a cost efficient way. We also for this project considered Anderson windows, they were expensive, and frankly ugly, not at all fitting with existing older vinal windows in our house. I would recommend if you are in Chicago to visit a showroom, it will help you decide what windows and features you want. A happy repeat customer, and plan to do more original windows soon, or even replace some failed 20 year old vinal windows. read more

My Mom ordered windows through a contractor and then he keep putting off the installation. He'd say he was coming over and not show up and then just disappear. She reached her limit and called and left several angry messages, so one day unannounced he shows up, drops the windows off and says "Find someone else to put them in I should have never taken the job." Nice huh? Do you think any other contractor is interested in installing windows that someone else measured? No they are not. So I knew I had to get creative, I called ClimateGuard directly and when I had the chance to speak with Fernando I asked "How would you like to be someone's hero today?" That's pretty tough to turn down. We worked with Fernando who was a delight to talk to by the way and ended up ordering an additional window and yes it took a few more weeks for that to be created, but they installed it as soon as possible. The crew were polite and cleaned up after themselves. Truthfully there was an issue with the installation of on of the windows, but when Fernando originally came he said the measurement was off on the one window. After we contacted them. After meeting with Daniel, I chose ClimateGuard to install windows at my house. They used a third party installation company. The techs came out and installed the windows. The windows looked great. After a few days (and temperatures dropped) I began to feel air in my house. I contact ClimateGuard to address the issue. I've been in touch with ClimateGuard at least 4 times since the window installation at my home. I have had at least two of you staff members come to my house to "look at" what could be the issue. Neither one of them "could see" the issue. The installers returned and removed one side of the capping from the front window. While there is foam insulation between the window and the wood frame, there is very noticeable gaps between the brick and the wood window frame. If this is the case for this one side, I believe that this is the case for all sides and each of the windows. This has to be the cause of air seepage in my home. Jose recently visited my house to "troubleshoot" the issue. While coming up with several things that can be the cause of the temperature drop in my home, he suggested that filling the gap between the brick and the frame will not change anything. I obviously disagree. The product and service on these window and its installation is very new, I am very disappointed at the amount of hoops I've having to go through to get this resolved. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and now have had to retain legal representation. They say that they are here for the customer but clearly they are out to dupe customers out of their money. This was a simple fix, remove the caps, fill the gaps with insulation then replace the caps. They have refused to do anything else. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Hi, my name is escamilla, moved into current apartment that has 18 windows in 2019. In time (2024), the windows' needs for maintenance and minor repairs are due. Started looking at the windows for manufacturer's brand, and stamped on the windows' latched is ClimateGuard. Googled the name, and was pleasantly surprised they are in chicago. Ringa Ding Ding, and e-mailed them to make an appointment with no issues, DONE. They handled everything on the phone and thru e-mails like candy. Sent a service tech to note the windows' needs, DONE. E-mailed me the windows' service order with price, DONE. They scheduled time to come out to fit my time line, DONE! The techs, their performance, DIMES, DONE and PERFECT. By the By By, whoever had had maintenance done on the windows before ClimateGuard, had installed an inch thick plexiglass as a temporary fix that did more damage to the window's frame (that S%!T was heavy). My advise to anyone getting their windows done, stick with the manufacturer, they handle their business like candy, SWEET. read more

They were responsive when they were trying to make a sale, but things went down hill from there. There are still dents, scratches, hand prints and excess caulk around the windows, but that's nothing next to the fact that they took away my door... I have an antique (over 100 years old) door that goes over the windows, which they took away, leaving a 6 inch gap - it was clearly not meant to be taken out. They claimed they didn't know and brought the door back the next day. Unfortunately, my door was significantly damaged and can't just be replaced. They also pulled out all the weatherstripping, so it looks a mess. The door now needs to be painted, the original knob was dented beyond repair and one corner is damaged. I asked to be compensated for this damage and they said they could repair it instead. I agreed, but at this point, nobody will respond to me. This has been going on since August. Next stop is small claims court. Save yourself the trouble and avoid at all costs. If Climate Guard chooses to honor their word, I will gladly update my review. Climate Guard sent a painter to paint my door. The weather stripping still hasn't been replaced and the chunk off the top of the door is still there along with the dented doorknob. The painter did a good job painting. Unfortunately, that's not enough. read more

Ask for Abraham, he is a responsive and helpful outside sales rep, he visited my house and provided a quote each time. Good pricing (I shopped around and they were the least expensive option both times). I have been very satisfied with the quality of the windows and the options available. Both install teams who worked on my house were EXCELLENT. They don't cut corners, and they stay until the job is done. Did safe lead practices, which I appreciated.
