It was a little difficult to find with the signage that was (wasn't) available but once inside we were greeted warmly and seated quickly. There is a lot of ambience and atmosphere and the views were spectacular overlooking the Spokane river and the city skyline!! Very romantic and picturesque. When it came time to order we love oysters but the waitress said they were out Then I don't know if she was genuinely concerned with our disappointment or the fact that she'd be losing out on a $24 item, (I'm leaning toward the latter) but she said hold on let me double check....Several minutes later she came back and said they still had some. We were very happy, that is until they arrived. There were only 6 raw oysters on the half shell that were about the size of large peas. I thought we were in Washington? ! I don't know why I expected to find good, fresh reasonably priced gourmet food in Spokane. It's not Seattle. *sigh* We went here on the recommendation of some local Yelpers to celebrate a special occasion. My request was a bit narrow, since I wanted a romantic type of restaurant with a great view that did not require a tie and jacket. Considering we were traveling, I didn't want to take up space in our luggage for formal clothing. I do have to admit that the view was very nice. We were there in the evening, so we could look across the river at the beautiful city lights. It was a bit too dark to enjoy the sight of the river, but if we leaned close to the window we could look past the glare of the restaurant lights and see the river. Despite the disclaimer that you are not guaranteed a river view table with reservations, we were able to have a table with a river view. The service was great. Our waiter was funny and helpful. We started with country fried calamari. It was really good. I liked the addition of the artichoke hearts. At the recommendation of the waiter, we split the Broadway Pea Salad. It was okay. Basically a creamy cold pea salad. For my main meal, I ordered seared fresh jumbo Atlantic Scallops after the waiter steered me away from the chef's special pork chop (apparently there was some negative feedback from other customers earlier that evening). The scallops were a bit too buttery for my tummy, but I appreciated the "caviar" (masago) that topped the scallops. My companion had the twice roasted fresh herb stuffed chicken, which was good. The best part of the meal was the bread. It was garlicy and warm. I probably could have made a whole meal just out of the bread. read more

The wife and I came to celebrate a recent anniversary, thinking to splurge on one of Spokane's greatest views and terrific food. All went well at first, with quick seating to our reserved table and drinks orders served right away. Our first disappointment came with our appetizer, the Teriyaki steak tidbits. The sticky rice and pickled ginger were fine, but the headline act- the beef- was covered in untrimmed fat and filled with gristle. Trying to gracefully spit it back out into my fork was an exercise in embarrassment. Not a good start. Next, my wife and I split a Caesar salad, which was so garlicky that it was barely edible... and I LOVE garlic. But too much is too much. Our entrees were better, especially when contrasted against the earlier dishes. My Filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and my companion's chicken was delicious. My only complaint was portion size... a little too meager. Our service was innattentive and mediocre. We waited too long for drink refills and bread wasn't delivered until just before our entrees came. After we were finished with dessert, we waited patiently for a return visit from our waiter. And we waited. And waited. Finally we got a check. Unfortunately, we can only come to the reluctant conclusion that tables with larger groups get top attention priority, while smaller groups wait for service. That was our observation. We probably won't be back... too many other quality options in Spokane now. read more

Parking was a bit confusing but the parking lot next to the Clinkerdagger (it has another restaurant name for the parking lot but it's also for the Clinkerdagger and they validate your parking) so feel free to park there! Went to Clinkerdagger for pre-valentine's day celebration and I wish I went there during the day or before the sunset. We got the window view seats and I couldn't see outside because it was too dark! :( Bummmmer. We both weren't really hungry so we ordered mojitos and just entrees. The Mojitos were really sweet (both classics and tropical fruits) and barely had any alcohol taste to them. But oh wells, I like sweet drinks. As entrees, I got Smoked Chicken Penne and my bf got Seafood Risotto. Although Risotto was more expensive I liked my pasta better than the Risotto. It had a lot of oil in them, but chicken was soft and pasta was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The total came out to be around $80 for 2 people without including the tip. I think that seems reasonable for a fine dining restaurant. Service was nice, and also the view (Only if I came a bit early!). Would definitely come back! read more

We've been long term patrons to Clinks for years. Always had a great meal, service, etc. So, when we decided on dinner for our anniversary, we chose Clinkerdaggers. We also signed up for their "membership" rewards acct. I made reservations and when We arrived and they took us right to our table. We got to eat outside on their balcony, which was great. Their menu was very limited but we didn't mind. Asked if I could add on lobster tail and was told they didn't have any. Ok, no biggie, I understand due to COVID, some items are limited. After being told we couldn't add on some items, we took about 5 extra minutes to decide. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife ordered the prime rib dinner. When our food was brought out, we were very disappointed. The fish tacos had so much breading on them, there was hardly any fish. One taco even had 90% breading, 10% fish. Not worth the price we paid for it. My wife's prime rib (which she ALWAYS gets) was lacking in flavor and the mashed potatoes were not seasoned and the consistency was chunky. So, the food, needless to say was awful. Our waiter was also less than attentive. There was our table and the table next to us that were the only ones outside at that time. The table next to us ordered their drinks, food.... the waiter brought out their complimentary bread. As we sat waiting for our complimentary bread, it never came. We were jipped on the bread! We really felt like our business was not welcome. Three stars given due to past positive experiences otherwise if this was my first time here, it would be 1 Star. I even wrote the company "Landry" or whatever, expressing my disappointment in our service, food etc and never heard back. Lesson learned. We will go elsewhere now. They clearly don't care about their customers or their experiences in the restaurant. read more

Disappointed.... Made a reservation for a college graduation 2 months ahead of time. Showed up for our 8:15 reservation. At 9pm we were still waiting to be seated and finally left. As usual, the ambiance is wonderful (I've been dining there off and on for almost 50 years). Unfortunately, the quality of the food and value (bang for the buck) have steadily eroded as the prices increase. It feels more and more like a money grab than providing a memorable dining experience for the customer. Just because this establishment has existed for many years doesn't mean kudos are warranted or deserved when none are earned. Entitlement is a formula for failure. Twice in the last year (dumb luck) my wife and I have stopped in on a Saturday for lunch only to be told that because of school graduations, no lunch menu is available and only expensive entrees are available. Not in the mood for heavy main courses, we opted for a caesar salad and a glass of wine. $60 for a light lunch (very average salad to boot) is beyond any semblance of value. Sorry, but location only doesn't make up for culinary mediocrity. There are too many other great restaurants in Spokane to visit that exceed expectations. We won't be returning in the foreseeable future. Too bad! read more

I debated between three and four stars, but am rounding down because of the prices. I spontaneously popped into Clinkerdagger while exploring The Flour Mill. Given the review rating here on Yelp, I would have expected a little higher quality with the food. They have happy hour seven days a week, which is partly what enticed me to give them a try. It was a Sunday so I figured I'd check it out. Happy Hour has about 4 wine options and about 8 cocktail options. I don't remember the beer options but there weren't many (not many on the full menu, either) and no cider choices (not on the regular menu). Hard liquor seemed to be their main gig (long list of choices like in a cruise ship) so my first order was for a basil gimlet. The basil gimlet was excellent; a five star drink especially for $7. It was properly balanced, not too sweet, and bursting with fresh basil. It also was nice and cold and stayed that way for the duration of my drink. The happy hour appetizers aren't half price but instead knock off a few bucks from dinner prices. In some cases the apps are not found on the full menu (I think). I ordered the fried Brussels sprouts, which were a disappointment. The advertised "bacon bread crumbs" taste like someone had dumped a bottle of bacon bits on top of it. I would bet the Brussels sprouts were frozen; they were small and bright green and soft, all in a very uniform way. They were wayyyyyyyy too salty, but I ate them anyway, which did the intended job of making me drink too much too fast, I think The bartender was great. He gave me water without me asking and kept it constantly filled. He also made the drinks really quickly. I was intrigued by some of their signature cocktails on the regular bar menu and ordered a Lavender Cosmo. This was a disappointment. It had no lavender taste or flavor. I was hoping for a strong herbal experience but it was just a neutral sweet & sour. I ordered another happy hour app to soak up the booze, the crab & artichoke dip. The bread was the best part. The dip was fine...like any crab & artichoke dip anywhere, I suppose...warm and gooey Nd fatty. It had, at times, a bit of an ocean flavor that wasn't quite right (like overripe fish, not like crab). Still, I ate most of it trying to tame my Cosmo. Despite the happy hour prices, my bill was still wayyyyyy more than I would usually spend on dinner, and I didn't think it was entirely worth it. If you go, get the basil gimlet. read more

I came here last Friday for my anniversary, made reservations through my landrys account and we were seated immediately which was a surprise for a Friday night! I got the wagyu steak plate this time and my boyfriend got the cheeseburger. I asked for a medium steak and it came out RAW not rare but raw, the server assistant asked how everything was and I asked if he could take the steak back for a little longer cook time and he did and it came back medium rare, I normally won't eat steak that rare but i didn't want to send it back again. I would've given 3 stars for this rating normally but they probably just had a bad night in the kitchen so ill remove stars next visit if my visit is similar to this one. My mashed potatoes and asparagus also came out room temp so I know my plate was sitting before they brought it out the first time around but they brought me a new serving of veggies with the recooked steak which was thoughtful. The potato serving was also very scarce compared to my last visit and the asparagus was bland so the sides were disappointing this time. They brought out a free creme brulee for our anniversary which was so nice and delicious! We were Also seated in front of the water falls which was a nice touch. This is a Spokane tradition. It overlooks the Falls, so ask for a view. The food will be excellent. Nothing too fancy, but very solid. And you'll probably run into your prom date from high school - for better or worse. Really, Spokane has counted on Clink's for ages. read more

Took my wife here for an anniversary dinner and was totally blown away by how crappy the food and service were. The highlight, hands down, is the patio overlooking the river so perhaps a good spot for drinks but otherwise I won't be back. Dropped over $100 on dinner and drinks for two. Short ribs featured a pair of pingpong ball-sized hunks of meat that were dry and tough. Grits were excellent and flavorful. Veggies OK but not prepared as described (grrr!). Dish was massively under-sauced. Draft beer was a good value. Wife had a sizeable filet of Ahi Tuna that looked nice, but was coated with a dumptrucks-worth of seasoning. Rice was bland and dry. The side salads are laughable. $9 for a few ounces of romaine lettuce and dressing. A few croutons, slivered almonds and half a hard boiled egg are there to justify the outrageous cost. Service was probably the worst I've experienced at this price point. Took over 10 minutes just to get our server to stop by. Then, I ordered a Blue Moon and got a salad with blue cheese dressing. After that they tried to bring us a different table's food twice. Items overall came to the table at a snail's pace and were simply dropped without a word, including the bill which, at this level of cost, should be the last thing you fling silently on the table like an errant booger. On the bright side, the hosts were quick and friendly. Overall, I was left with the sense that I'd been robbed. I'm still stinging days later. Crappy food, slow service with an attitude... all at a premium cost! Again, the patio/atmosphere is nice so it could be worth it for that. Otherwise this place seems to be another one of those inexplicably over-rated Yelp darlings. Try Wild Sage instead. What you lose in atmosphere you gain ten-fold in food quality and service. read more

We had reserved a private room and first off it was set up poorly, we were all seated at different round tables with our backs to each other - it was also unbelievably hot and stuffy. The waitstaff was sweet and funny, and relatively attentive given the size of our group. The food was just meh. Not bad by any stretch, but nothing I would expect from a restaurant of this promised caliber. On our last day in Washington after an amazing Thanksgiving weekend, we had to leave from Spokane, an hour away from where my niece and her husband lives. We decided to stay the night in Spokane so my husband and I could catch an early flight the next morning. We searched for a great dining experience I t he Spokane area and found this gem. We wanted cozy and fireplaces and that's exactly what we got - and more because we got to sit by the large windows facing the river. It was a perfect finale to what was already a perfect Thanksgiving week. My niece is very special to me and we just love indulging in those moments. This was no exception. The appetizers were on point - we had the crab and artichoke dip - creamy and delicious - as well as the fried calamari. I also indulged in some French Onion soup while sipping on my amazing dirty martini. My husband had the delicious lobster bisque and then we socialized over the amazing appetizers and cocktails. Kris was our server and she was great - never rushing us and joked around with us as well. Made us feel warmly welcome. For our dinner entrees - I had the filet mignon, Tim had the Crab Louie salad, my niece had the filet as well and her husband had shrimp. It was all amazing. At the end we all shared an amazing chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. YUM! In the end, the prices weren't cheap, but - if you don't expect to pay well for good food, then you should just settle for McDonalds - it was all well worth the price and we would definitely be back. I was probably dreaming about my great time here that I forgot to return to Yelp to write my story. The years passed by like the wind from the hurricane that exiled everyone I knew including myself from the land of the Bayous. This is one of the best restaurants in the Spokane area. I came here to dine Pre Covid with some friends in the area. The view of the waterfall is absolutely jaw-dropping. You can see the full force of the water flowing down the edge underneath the trees standing near the banks. We wanted to dine outside on the patio to enjoy the gorgeous scenery if parking had not been an issue. One of our comrades was still circling the city because we could not find parking. It was in our best interest to order to go to save some gas money. The waitress who took our orders was very attentive. She asked us if we had any food allergies, what brought us into town that day, and if we were interested in the drinks menu. I am aware this is the special treatment you get from an expensive restaurant but I have never seen someone work that hard to please customers. She carefully noted our requests done on a notepad before handing the sheet to her manager to review. This is a good sign if you probably want to ask me for my opinion. We ordered the lunch specials such as the Wagyu Beef dish, Chophouse Burger, Grilled Salmon, and Shrimp Scampi. For dessert, we had the creme brulee and the southern-style bread pudding. The Wagyu was so delicious and soft. I have never had meat that tasty in my life. It filled my stomach up that I had to get a box for the potato cakes, almonds, and long beans. My friends commented they enjoyed their dishes too. They had the right amount of spices and seasoning without being overly salty. I could smell how good they were. The chef took his/her time using the freshest ingredients out there to make the food flavorful, juicy, and addicting. The desserts were equally good if not better. The creme brulee was toasted brown all the way to a glass-like consistency without being burnt at all. Each spoonful was light and crunchy. The bread pudding had a fluffy texture to it. It was not too sweet and was not saturated with cream. You get a great meal from what you pay for. read more
