Nice private balcony from my room

Cute boutique hotel located in downtown Ventura. Location is good and bad. Near the downtown strip of fun places to visit but plenty of mentally ill people in downtown too. The hotel has free parking which is hard to find in this area. Place is over 100 years old and a protected Hacienda building landmark. It was an old firehouse. Seems to be around 50 rooms in a two story building. There are downsides because it does feel/smell very old. Walls are thin and rooms are extremely small. I had a king size bed, fireplace and private patio that over looks clock tower which was nice. The continental breakfast is free on weekdays 7-10a which is always nice to have. Downtown areas are very walkable. Price will be the most affordable in the area ($159 this time). Front desk Nicole was very helpful so I appreciate her customer service.

Tiny bathroom, but cute and quaint

Really enjoyed our stay here! I would give it five stars except for the shower and the bathroom. The shower, the water pressure wasn't the greatest and it would get hot and then it would get cold. When I was brushing my hair with the bathroom door open, I kept hitting my arm on the door, but other than that, it was great. We enjoyed our private patio & the breakfast was Great, especially the coffee!! The surrounding are beautiful.. It was a nice walk to Main Street and to really anywhere in Ventura on this side of town. The clubs, the beaches, the restaurants were all enjoyable. The fireplace was lovely in our room. However, the dresser was a little floppy, when you pulled out the drawers, they'd fall forward, so beware and careful. The staff were so accommodating and very pleasant. We will definitely return.

House is under remodeling and tonight had to spent the night somewhere. Booked the Clocktower Inn via hotels tonight. This place is super clean all around, welcoming and close to shops and restaurants. This is a little gem in my town. We were welcome by Nichol, she is super friendly!

    Comfortable beds!

We visit Clocktower inn every few years and it's always a great experience. The location is secluded, but has direct walking access to Ventura's charming Main Street promenade. the restaurant in the hotel has great food. The team at both the hotel and the restaurant are lovely, friendly and offer a very homey and welcoming experience. It's very close to the Amtrak station (less than 2 blocks away) so we love to come up for weekend trips from LA by train. It's a great weekend getaway!

Loved the sound of rain on the greenhouse glass panes and eating waffles in there !

Damn, why people so mean to Clocktower Inn?? My boyfriend and I went for a few nights in January for a little birthday getaway from LA - and we had an absolute blast !! Our room was cozy, the hot tub was awesome, and the building is so cool. We loved having complimentary delish hot waffles in the morning in the gorgeous greenhouse area. Also - it's literally connected to an AWESOME tequila bar !! That was seriously the highlight of the trip, and it happened totally by chance. There was an incredible Mariachi band playing at the bar next door - they were absolutely amazing and there was no cover (we tipped generously tho - they deserve it)!! So many great things about this place so again, not sure why there are so many haters here on Yelp. It's a historic inn. That comes with certain understandings. If you need a bougie brand-new hotel to be happy, go elsewhere. If you want a historic quirky stay with a friendly staff, lots of character, great price, and an awesome location that's walkable to the beach and to downtown Ventura (we walked down to Ven-tiki, one of our favorite tiki bars... Busy Bee diner also rules) - this is your spot!!

    Old school steel windows.

Quaint Downtown traditional Spanish style hotel. Walking distance to great restaurants and shops. Gives off a 30's Hollywood feel. Nice linens and super clean rooms. Deducted one star because my room had a roof leak that literally poured water from a hole at edge of ceiling. Lost some sleep from the sound of running water.

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

Both valet and the parking structure had several EV level 2 charging stations; valet charging was free. ChargePoint paid charging available at the parking structure; not sure what the cost is. Pier view isn't great, and the sounds of music from The Aloha steakhouse, constantly made into the room on the 9th floor. I was the second room from the furthest point and still didn't have much of a view. I had a small balcony which provided fresh air and a place to dry wet bathing suits. At least 3 times a day you would hear the loud train noise even on the 9th floor; I'd suggest the sunset view vs pier view going forward. The restroom was extremely small, the water pressure was low at all times; sink and shower. The sliding barn door had frosted glass which blinded the entire room with the bathroom lights on in a dark room; poor design choice as the door was only 1-2 feet away from the bed. The pool was heated but not @80 degrees as described; complementary towels available at the front desk. Drinks are allowed on the pool deck but must be in plastic; no glass allowed. The Aloha bar had friendly bartenders with decent food and drink options; I wasn't a fan of the ahi salad, it had too much wasabi in the dressing. The hotel was located about a 5min drive from downtown Ventura and a 10min walk, this location wasn't as centrally located like the Clocktower hotel but likely less noise from foot traffic. Late check out @1 is complementary and prioritized with IHG rewards members, however I was not allowed the option. I doubt I'd return due to the above mentioned. Late check out should always be an option.

As a Lifetime Titanium member, that was extremely disappointing. At that point, it makes you question why you chose this Marriott property in the first place when the key elite benefit isn't being maintained. I honestly would have considered another Marriott property -- or even a Hilton -- had I known. I brought the issue up to the front desk, but they seemed somewhat oblivious to the fact that this is a core guest amenity issue, not just something reserved for weekday corporate travelers. The hotel definitely has potential, but it needs stronger management attention and better operational oversight to deliver the level of experience expected from the brand.

It made it so easy to take a morning ride along the beach without the hassle of rushing back to beat the rental clock. The whole Harbor House Inn experience just felt right. I'm looking forward to staying there again.

This is a great little hotel right on the beach! Check in…read morewas easy and the staff were so friendly. Had a king room on the 2nd floor. It was clean, spacious and had everything I would need. They have done some updating. The fan they now provide is a new small but very efficient Woozoo fan, not the one they show in the older review pictures. The fireplace was nice and the bathroom was modern and updated. There is a desk & chair along with two charging outlets on the desk and dresser area. They have an ice machine that was always full alongside a vending machine. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a plastic bag for the ice bucket, for sanitary reasons. Luckily, I had one with me. The balcony was very nice with two comfortable chairs and a nice size table. The views were spectacular of the beach. It was very foggy during my stay so no sunset but that happens sometimes. There are several restaurants within a very short walk from the hotel and beach access is easy. It was quiet at night and the sliding door to the balcony had a security bar so you could leave it open a few inches or all the way if you wanted to. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore made for such a peaceful and restful sleep. They have a good size refrigerator in the room that kept everything really cold and a coffee maker with the regular & decaf pods along with powdered creamer & sugar. The complimentary breakfast consists of cereal, muffins & pastries along with coffee. I thought it was a nice touch. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends and my brother & SIL are already planning to stay here soon. I can't wait to come back, this is my new go to when not camping here in Ventura!
