I hired Clog Pro to connect my house to city sewer. My home in Vancouver was built in the 1950s and had a septic system rather than being hooked up to the sewer. My understanding is that if the septic tank or drainfield ever needed replacement, the city would require I hook up to the city sewer. I decided to have that done now rather than having to do it in an emergency in the future, or having a future owner of the house deal with it when they wouldn't know what obstacles there are in the ground to have to work around than I do. I used Yelp reviews to pick two contractors to get cost estimates from. One was located in the Portland suburbs and one in Clark County. The cost was expensive but I expected that because the hookup needed to be a pumped system that goes around the yard and up the driveway, not a simple gravity connect from house to street. One contractor indicated I should initiate a hook up permit to the city so I went there. One of the tasks of the job was right-of-way work in the street to hookup to the sewer that runs along the middle of the street. The city gave me a list of contractors who are on their approved list who have done that work with the city before. I looked through the list and didn't find either of the contractors that I had picked so far, but found one that looked like a possible third option- Clog Pro. I didn't look into Clog Pro prior to that because I figured from their name that they specialize in unclogging drains and pipes rather than other plumbing work. But their web site listed sewer connections as one of the things they do. So they came and looked over the project and gave an estimate. Discussing the job with the Clog Pro supervisor (Jesse), his understanding of the job impressed me the most, although the other two companies probably would have done a good job also. Also, Clog Pro's price was lower than the other two. I hired Clog Pro. I had always dreaded going ahead with this project because of the things that could go wrong. For example, the sewer pipe had to go close to some wires in the ground that control valves for my irrigation system, and I was worried they might be damaged. But the project went incredibly smoothly, no problems. From when I first got the estimate it was only about two weeks until the job was completed. Our bathtub and shower stall both clogged up at the same time on a Saturday night and despite all efforts of plunging and snaking, we finally gave up. Now I was not going to be going into work on Monday after a heatwave weekend without bathing. I called Clog Pro on Friday and they had availability the next day and didn't charge an additional fee for weekend work, which is apparently a thing in the plumbing world. I can't say their rates were super expensive or super reasonable, because I think that plumbers overall are on the spendy side. But you know what? They did a great job and now I won't have to call anyone again for a long time, hopefully. My work also came with a 60-day guarantee, which is great. I love a company that stands behind their work. Of the three plumbing companies I called, Clog Pro was the only one that had an actual person answer the phone. The other two still haven't called me back. I needed my bathroom tub and sink drains cleaned, as they all tend to run slow despite my best efforts to stay on top of them. I hadn't had them professionally cleaned in quite a while and they were really getting out of hand. Patrick came out and did an excellent job. He was actually running EARLY on Saturday (who does that, btw?!) and I got a courtesy call asking if he could come early. I said yes (of course!) and after the work, I got a call from the dispatcher asking if I was satisfied with the work minutes after Patrick left. I had a significant clog well under the basement slab that I could not snake out for the life of me, causing water and filth to back up into the house. Clog Pro Plumbing & Drain came out and took care of it. The person who came out, Louis, was professional, courteous, and efficient. Also, he was honest. I asked him if he felt that I would need the camera inspection for this, which is an additional fee. He could have easily up-sold me on that and made some extra dough, but he was honest and said that he didn't feel it was necessary. Last week we had Patrick from Clog Pro come out to fix an outdoor drain that had backed up. I had tried clearing & snaking it myself, but just could not get it unclogged. He was able to fix it without any problems, and was super communicative & friendly while doing so. We just got a fixer-upper house last year, so have met with a ton of contractors - he was one of the most pleasant I've dealt with. 5 star service. The reason I give only a 4-star review is: 1. Little bit expensive - $219 minimum for a simple 20 minute job. 2. Appointment was something like 4-5 days after scheduling. Considering this drain was flooding into our house after storms, if there had been any other heavy rain forecast in the meantime we'd have needed a different company unless they do emergency scheduling (which wasn't mentioned). I'll probably go with them next time if the scheduling works out just because excellent service is hard to find. read more

I called Clog Pro on the recommendation of a plumber when it turned out our drain backup problems were a sewer issue. They responded right away - on a Saturday. They had someone out to work on it on Sunday, and got the sewer line clear enough to at least use the kitchen and bathroom. In the process of doing the work, they discovered that a previous owner had incorrectly installed the toilet, and that over the years the bolts and flange had rusted beyond repair. Further, the sewer clog was still enough to keep them from getting their camera snake far enough to see the full extent of it. They came back the following Friday, once with a smaller camera to see and clear out the rest of the clog, and a second time to install a new flange and re-bolt the toilet in. Louis, Robert and Danny were all thorough, transparent, and efficient. They never did work without providing an estimate, logged their work with their main office, and explained what they were doing in detail. The one very minor issue I had was that the main office didn't call when I was told they would a couple of times, but when I called the office they always picked up, and were always friendly, helpful and professional. There were never any hidden charges, tacked on extras, upsells or other nasty surprises. I recommend Clog Pro without hesitation.
