Similar to the other users here - Brought in some cloths, including a BR skirt that I have never worn (but had removed the tags) a Chicos sweater along with a few other items and was rejected - they told me they could tell they were all older than two years by the tag or were "too worn" for their inventory. Both of which were untrue for quite a few of the items (a few were older than two years, but since when does a Cashmere sweater in a basic cut ever go out of style?) After looking it up - the saleslady seems to have lied, I can't find anywhere telling me how to figure out how old my clothes are by the tag alone. Have enjoyed poking around and have found a nice pair of shoes before, but everything in their is really cheap fabrics and I rarely find good brands except in the purse section where the discount is not that great.....I would rather go to Savers/Goodwill and wash everything at home before wearing it. I donated everything anyways today - along with the 6 other bags of clothes I did feel were too old or not quite in their aesthetic. read more

Best place to find like new 2nd hand clothes. They have higher end brands and designer/contour. They are a place that does not consign, they buy your stuff (and are very very good with pricing). Great selection of women's shoes (up to size 12) and clothes (up to 3x). Their bags range from Vera Bradley to Coach and Michael Kors. Just an awesome selection. ok- so I'm a fan of this place when I'm shopping- not necessarily selling. While I have brought bags and bags to this place, they honestly have not "purchased" too many items from me. One of the times, I was right at the counter when one of the women were going through my items and she did take the time to tell me why she chose not to accept some things (some were missing a button, some were boot cut and not skinny jeans, etc.). Other than that, it's a nice perk that IF they do buy your items, you don't have to wait for them to sell, you get the cash right away. As far as purchasing here, I love how organized they are. It's super easy to find your size and style, and there's no "hunting" needed like at other consignment or thrift stores. I do think the items are slightly over priced for mostly Macy's brands (at Macy's you might be able to get them for less brand new with coupons), but everything seems to be good quality pieces and you are paying for the convenience of your clothes not smelling like the Salvation Army. So far, I haven't purchased any bags here, but I have bought jewelry and plenty of tops. I also love that they sell plenty of plus size and maternity clothes to choose from! This consignment store has more of a boutique feel to it; the store is bright, stylish, and has a very well-thought-out floor plan. There are clothing, accessories, and shoes in the shop of many sizes and brands. These items were top-notch quality at affordable prices. I was not a fan of the employees- one woman made many loud and rude comments about my consignment items to her co-workers while I was still present browsing in the store, and another begrudgingly unlocked dressing rooms upon our requests to try on clothing. I will definitely return to find more bargain items and hope that in the meantime the employees of the South Windsor branch can work on their customer service skills- so that my trek from New Haven will be worth it. read more

I agree with some of the other reviews! The clothes I brought in were in much better condition and newer then what was hanging on the racks. They said my clothes were older then 2 years while some of their things were faded and old looking. I had JCrew, polo, Talbots, all in excellent condition with some of the price tags still on some items and they still passed on them. The Lilly Pulitzer clothes they had hanging were about 8 years old and over priced. I went right to another consignment store with my clothes and they practically took all of my items with NO hesitation. I think this store is afraid to pay you for the pricier and nicer items. When you walk into the store it looks like a department store. You may find a few items that are a good deal. But if you want to consign some of your clothes there be ready for a rude awakening. I brought in a box and a bag full of clothes The majority of the items were brand name. Such as rock and Republic jeans Citizen for humanity jeans dress pants blazer ATC they took one dress that was my daughters from when she was younger. They said they couldn't take any of the other items that's not what they're looking for with an attitude and they were rude. Maybe the young girls that they have working there need to go to a customer service class to learn how to be friendly and pleasant to potential customers. read more

I have tried to consign items with this store many times and in each case my items were refused and more recently the store manager would not take a perfect never been used black Dooney and Bourke purse because she indicated that she was unsure on how to hold the bag? Seriously, this was after she went to the Dooney website to look up the price of the bag on-line. When I realized what was happening, I kindly explained that they had the exact bag (but in a different color they had red) in the store and pointed it out. She said oh yeah, and yours appears to be in better condition (the leather is much nicer) but look at how long this bag has been in the store and we can't sell it. Well I wanted to say because it isn't as good shape as the one I have and the leather is not as nice. Also, you need to consider color the one in the store was red and the one I was trying to sell is black. We discussed price and since the bag retails for 259.00 she said oh no we can't give you 100.00 dollars for it. I could give you 50. No thanks, I am done trying to be a nice person with this store. You should hire more competent managers who know how to run a successful business. Better store out there who are much more friendlier and not rude to their customers as well as to people who are trying to consign items. read more

I am incredibly disgusted with this consignment store. Not only were they rude but also extremely insulting. I brought 2 large bags of freshly laundered, neatly folded clothing. When I went back for the estimate I was told they were "giving me back my items because of condition and the were more than 2 years old". Both statements were very inaccurate. Some of the clothing was only from a year ago and still has tags! Or it had been worn once. None of the clothing is stained or unkempt. I would never attempt to sell ragged clothing. In addition when they gave me my clothing back it was thrown into a ripped bag. They did not even have the decency to refold my items. Their rudeness was hurtful. And their assessment was very inaccurate. I would not recommend this shop. read more

Very organized, friendly staff and some serious steals! I found a Lily for Target romper with the tags still on it for $20! $140 sneakers with very little wear for $30. This store does not sell many top end designers, at all. I did buy a pair of old navy pants for 8 dollars---which were identical to a pair of red ones I purchased at the actual store on sale for the same price. Most of the brands I saw were typical mall store, which is fine, but not for the price they sell them at! You would do better going to Marshalls or waiting for items to go on sale at the mall. In terms of selling you items, they don't appear to take high end brands. I brought in some Kate Spade, Gucci, Burberry, and Louis Vuitton- all were tuned away despite being in great condition. I sold them instead at a different consignment shop. If you are looking for a great deal, go to The Pink House in Canton. Lots of top end stuff at great prices! read more

A bit pricey but it is an OK place to shop. But.... just as others pointed out....don't waste your time trying to sell anything to them. For instance; I bought a lesser brand of jeans meanwhile they wouldn't take my brand name jeans which still had tags on them. The woman going through my things also had the nerve to label all of my things as dated in which they were not. She came across as quite condescending in her tone as she instructed me that I would be taking everything back with me. Quite the unpleasant experience to say the least and I will never ever shop there again let alone try and sell items. read more

I have gone to this store a few times, and have never been happy. I don't understand why I have done this. This will not happen again. I brought in a gorgeous brand new dress last week. The salesperson offered me $10 for it, which, I should have taken at that time. I went back with the dress today, different salesperson, and was offered $4.00 I also had a beautiful black dressy skirt. I was offered $1.00. The skirt was never worn, and had it's dress barn ticket still on it. I told her that was an insult to me to offer me that. Nothing special about their clothes or prices. One salesperson was nice, the other was not. I have no intentions of ever going back or recommending this store to anyone. read more

A lot of times I come here I am not offered any assistance as I shop (offering to take my armful of clothes to a dressing room, etc). They have some nice items, but as far as used clothes go they are very pricey. I'd rather shop at uptown consignment which is very close by, where my husband can also look at clothes rather than standing awkwardly and waiting for me to finish. Mostly a positive experience. I brought in clothes to sell and they gave me a decent amount for clothes that were going to be donated anyways. Most of the staff were kind and helpful. My one negative would be they told me it would be about 45 minutes so I did some errands and came back. When I got back, I walked through the store and looked in the racks before going back to the counter. The woman working with the red hair was playing on her phone, and when I asked if my items were ready, she seemed thoroughly annoyed that I interrupted whatever was so entertaining on her phone and my items had not even been touched and she told me I would have to come back later. I wouldn't avoid the store or the selling process, but I would avoid her if you can. read more

It was my first time bringing clothes in for consignment. I brought in eight pieces, all top brand names, and from six months to one year in age: LOFT, Nine West, Talbots. I brought in four sweaters, two pairs of pants - one lined - and one sleeveless blouse. I was paid 5 dollars per item for one of the sweaters, and the two pairs of pants. I was very disappointed, as those items collectively cost $500.00. Granted, one of the items had had a minor repair, but barely noticeable, and was told another was "a bit worn", and a third was "an old style". Really? i bought everything six months to one year ago. I was told by the manager that it was "nothing personal", and that they use a formulary. When I told her I would be in the following week to get my $15.00, she seemed surprised. Not going to run back to a store, 30 minutes away, for $15.00. Next time, going to try Plato's Closet. Or, better yet, just donate to those in need. read more

I had brought things here before without much luck but thought I d try again. Still no luck. I brought in Talbots pants and a couple pairs of Coldwater Creek jeans ( the lady actually made a face about them! ). All the Talbots pants were hardly worn but were rejected because they were cropped, and/or because they were Womens size--had some elastic in the waist or over 2 years old. That made little sense to me as their inventory for larger sizes was quite limited. I ve lost weight and need to clean out my closet. Found nothing to buy and obviously no sales either. I was offered $5 for a never.used purse and matching wallet ( a knockoff).I'd rather donate them than take that insulting offer. I won't return. read more

I wish that I would have read these reviews before I tried selling anything here. I have been here many times over the past year as a buyer and was hesitant to bring things in to sell because of past experiences at similar stores that offer to buy your "gently used, name brand" items, but with a wedding to pay for & the holidays coming up I figured I'd try. If you want to continue liking this store...don't try selling there. Their staff is always about 50/50; there are the nice, friendly ones and there are the typical retail workers with bad attitudes. I'm not sure what they use to determine what to buy & how much to offer, but it needs some improvement. I brought in about 8 pairs of boots (all brand new, never worn) and 4 jackets/coats (also never worn & all name brand). Within less than 10 minutes of dropping it all off I received the text that they were done. They didn't buy anything and had the audacity to specifically mention that the all of the coats were "way out of date". If that is the case, then it makes me question what they are selling since 2 of the 4 were just purchased HERE less than 6 months ago. read more

I've been to a lot of consignment/resale shops. The first thing I noticed was how organized it was. The prices were great and weren't that different from other shops. I'm a huge Ann Taylor fan and now buy all of my clothes there, cause let's face it, she's not cheap! I did buy a beautiful red Coach bag there and love showing it off. I was shocked cause the bag has never been used, it still had the cleaning card and dust bag in it! I recommend it to all of my friends and haven't heard a bad word. read more

I brought in some very expensive clothes to consign. I was offered $8 for a $100 skirt and a $50 top combined. I had some very other beautiful clothes to consign, but it seems they have some pretty stringent rules. Not great. I went into this store before starting a new job. I needed appropriate work clothes and figured I would find some here. To me, this is geared more towards adult women, so why wouldn't I find work clothes? Wrong. It was extremely difficult. So many things were not appropriate for my workplace and I was extremely disappointed. Also a staff member told me I could save money if I liked them on Facebook. I searched then and asked her if it was the right page. She had no idea, but said it was good enough and gave me the discount. Brought in brand new Rockport leather loafers, a nice Will Smith blouse, and another brand new shoes and got paid $, 12.10 out right.The shopkeeper named Kate did not bother to give me any receipt at all. I Thought this place is a rip off to bring your stuff in. Will NEVER go back to this store. I did not find the shopkeeper engaging or friendly...they do a good job in thoroughly checking any defect even a slight one is cause for rejection. Really wonderful clothes at great prices. There's a mix of labels, with some more expensive designer brands and then lots of higher-end retail brands. The store is well-organized and the staff are very friendly. This is a big step up from Saver's and similar stores but at not much of a leap in price. They have a loyalty program. Based on other reviews, I don't think I'll be trying to sell anything here, so that I can keep my warm feelings about it. But I highly recommend for shopping. read more

DO NOT SALE ANY OF YOUR CLOTHING HERE!!!!! They give you pennies for your good items. Plus they don't really know how long you have had your items. They ask for items that are a year old or less. YEAH RIGHT!!!! I had some really nice items to sale and the lady over looked a nice lime green leather coat and a "REAL" Coach bag. I knew she thought the Coach bag was fake and I should have brought my receipt to show it's authentic. However, they did purchase some items from me; but they were ALL WELL over a year. I have been shopping at this place for a long time. Today I bought in some very top end designer items north face jackets from last year worn once a coach bag I purchased in dec and a Mk bag brand new just received as a birthday gift in august. A Mk wallet new pair of coach ballerina shoes worn once last year. They said they couldn't authenticate the bags. I was insulted I've sold here before and they know those bags wasn't knockoffs. They know there stuff. They claim they couldn't find it online. I went home and found both bags on the online. I have worked for Nordstrom for 16years. I always have so much great designers things. I usually sell my stuff to them when I do my seasonal cleaning but I will never shop or consign here again. They tried to offer me 6$ for a new MK wallet still on sale at Nordstrom right now. They just lost a good customer. I think because I consigned some bags and wallets a few months back they felt like I was bring fake stuff. Wow u should know real when unsee it. read more

The first time I went to the store I had a brand new pair of Nine West shoes (still in the box). The older woman who waited on me was curt and very rude. She acted like I was bothering her by bringing in merchandise to sell. She said there would be a wait, so I began to shop. About three minutes later she yelled my name several times quite loudly. I was so embarassed. I proceeded to the counter and she curtly said, "I'll give you $2.40 for the shoes." When I declined her offer she rolled her eyes at me and slid the shoes rudely across the counter to me as if to tell me I had wasted her time. Today I went in to sell several name brand pairs of shoes (Ellen Tracey, Clarks, DKNY...) and AGAIN was treated rudely by a different clerk! I left vowing never to go back to this store. The merchandise is worn and old. There are many fradulent items that they are trying to sell as authentic. Buyers BEWARE !! You can do better elsewhere and be treated like a valued customer and not an imposition !! F Rating !!! read more
