I had a woman that didn't speak English and didn't ask me what I wanted or tell me what she was going to do. I felt like it was more rubbing lotion on the body instead of a massage I suffer from chronic pain in the neck, back, hip, and left ankle, and did not get relief. I just visited the new Burlingame location. So glad they reopened, was really missing my massages. The new location is nice - storefront is misleading, it looks small, but it's very nice inside and quite large - there are a lot of private massage rooms, which are nicer and larger than the FC location. The foot massage room is smaller, but cool - dark, sparkly lights on ceiling, spaced out chairs, etc. The reception room is pretty plain but spacious so guests can spread out while waiting. Everyone was wearing masks, they had hand sanitizer readily available and they take your temperature upon arrival. Many of the former masseuses aren't back yet, but I had a new (at least for me) masseuse named Amy who was excellent if you like deep tissue masssages. I only come here for one person! Joe is my guy! Everyone else here isn't that great in my opinion; however, Joe is extremely strong and knows how to get those knots out. Just beware, it will hurt! Clean facility and great deals for foot and full body massages! On Mondays and Tuesdays, Oceanic Foot Spa has a special for $25 for a 60 minute foot massage. I arrived around 4pm without an appointment, and luckily they were able to take me. The service started with a head, neck, and shoulder massage while your feet soak, followed by the actual foot massage. Just when you think it's over, you turn around and get a back massage too. The room for the foot massages was large with a high ceiling and about 12 leather reclining chairs. Once you lay down, a towel is placed over your chest and eyes. I would suggest arriving after 430pm as the spa is located next to a children's after care of sorts. For the first 15-20 minutes of my massage, I heard the kids running, playing, and screaming, which wasn't exactly the most relaxing. There was also peaceful music playing the entire time. At the end of the massage, I was given a small cup of water. Payment was easy - they accept credit cards, but prefer cash for the tips. I'll be back for the Wed/Thurs $40 special for full body massages! read more

Oh a whim, we decided we wanted foot massages on a Tuesday evening at about 7:45pm. We made some calls and finally landed on Oceanic which had availability, they were ready for us by 8pm. Added bonus, on Monday & Tuesday's they have a "good start" for the week special of an hour foot massage for only $25! We were warmly greeted and brought to a communal area which is pretty common for fully clothed massage spas. I did not mind the other guests in the room at all as they cover your eyes and body with towels for added comfort. Plus, the space was very quiet and had peaceful background sounds playing. The massage itself was absolutely fabulous. They soak your feet in a tub of warm water, start with your head, neck, shoulders & arms and move down to your calves & feet. I was in heaven. I don't even know where to start. It's so unbelievable. I called and prepaid for a 1hr massage for my mom with Lynn H. for $40. My mom checked out after her appointment and tipped $6.00 based on the level of service she received. Tipping is voluntary - not mandatory, right? The lady at reception told my mom that her $6 was unacceptable and that she must tip at least $10. So instead of taking her tip back and getting the hell out of there, she gave her $10 and walked out! Agggggh! My mom told me and I was so pissed off that I called and asked for the manager. Would not recommend. Front desk was rude and clearly acted like she just wanted to get home. The foot massage was then done by a woman who kept going back and forth to the back during the massage! Maybe even taking breaks in between. It was mostly just a lotion rub, with no pressure at all. She then proceeded to rub (aka barely touch) my one foot for almost 20 minutes, and the other for 15 minutes. She left to the back again! When she came back she attempted to do my feet once more until I had to remind her that I had other parts of my body that she could attend to. Worst experience ever. Do not recommend. What happened to the old front desk? She was much more pleasant. If they are under new management then this is a disgrace. read more

Today me and two friends called several times to schedule--no answer so we finally left a message and selected time based on what showed as available on line. System would not allow us to book. Never received a phone call to say that there was a problem with appoint. When we arrived no appointment on the books. What was worse was being told that we never called or left a message, even thought we pulled out phones and showed times we called. I've been here 5-6 times, and every single time, making an appointment was easy via online. I've gotten body massages by Jenny ( it's 40 dollars every Wed/Tues). The first time was good in terms that she took her time and did the hot stones! The second time however, she only focused on my back, legs, and I didn't get the hot stones. Overall it was a good experience, but I wished she put more pressure. I've gotten foot massages by Micki ( 25 every Mon/Tues). I picked her because she's known for deep tissue, however maybe that was my misunderstanding, that she was good for body massages and not with foot massages. I obviously felt very little pressure being dealt to my body. Both times I was unsatisfied with my foot massage hence the one star deduction. However, I will try her for body massages next time and see if it makes a difference. I'll definitely come back here for the ambiance and price, but maybe I need to seek out male massage therapists to get that DEEP in your knots massages that I've been craving for. I have mixed emotions about Oceanic. It's a love hate relationship. They have these cards that you can specifically ask for more or less in certain areas of your body but they cards are never followed. If you want more focus on the neck, you receive extensive back. My hot stone Swedish massage turned into a deep tissue and was unbearably painful. The use of a deep elbow in my back had me verbally and physically unable to cope and I gave a high pain tolerance. I was tense 80% if the time and When expressing too much pain, the response was "just relax" and it continues. You say it again, and it continues. But, somehow towards the end my neck and back pain are completely gone!! From what I'm told, you have to have a painful deep tissue massage in your back and shoulders to relieve neck strain and it's true. If you want to truly get rid of pain, you need to endure pain. I do recommend but be aware...it will be painful getting rid of strain. They use pressure point nerve technique to relieve pain. Although very painful, it does actually help. My stiff neck is nice and relaxed today. read more
