Their website has a lot more details and we were directed by the saleswoman to see more of their products. It was worth taking a trip to the retail store though. She was able to give my friend fabric swatches for the custom curtains they make to match them to her crib bedding she has. We were informed that they can monogram and customize things on site and turn things around pretty quickly. Everything was priced pretty well. The custom crib bedding was especially priced well. My friend was bummed she didn't find out about this place sooner.

Hoohobbers is by far the most fabulous children's boutique I have been to in the city. My…read morefavorites: huge selection of highest quality fabrics, the fact that all their bedding and moses baskets are made duvet syle so they are easy to wash and stil look great, and their unique children's products... the cutest chairs you will ever see. If all that wasn't enough to sell me on the spot, when I walked in the door I realized that EVERYTHING they sell is not only made in America but right on the premises. You can see through the back of the store into their manufacturing facility. So cool! I originally went into the store because I was given a moses basket for a gift and loved it so much I wanted to see what else they made. I ended up buying my daughter's crib bedding there. The store has a great, up and coming city location at 1657 N. Elston St. You can check them out at hoohobbers.com but the trip to the actual store is well worth it. This is a great way to support not only made in America products but local Chicago manufacturing as well.

Especially the book "Chicago Loves me" and the teether, onesies, and Penelope the bunny which allow the child to see themselves as the character in the book! Vanessa, the owner, is exceedingly kind and stopping in today and having the chance to meet her feels like fate. When I first stopped in the other employee here greeted me and asked what brought me in and if I needed help finding anything. It's not a large place but there is a LOT to look at. They have clothing, accessories, adult jewelry (possibly kids jewelry too, but I wasn't looking at it much), hair notions, and so on. One thing I really needed is a pacifier clip since my daughter has taken to pulling hers out and it ends up in a place in her carseat that is hard for me to reach! They happened to have these which made it a successful shopping trip right there. But whilst we were wandering, Vanessa complimented my sweetie pie and we got to talking. I was in the store for 35 minutes or so and probably half of that was chatting with her. I got a couple of the pacifier clips, and a freaking ADORABLE winter hat that I'm pretty sure is handmade and will probably fly off the shelf. I also bought a book featuring Chicago landmarks which I learned as I checked out Vanessa actually wrote. She autographed it for my baby which I love! Parking is street only and probably can get tough some days, but it's worth the visit. The store is full of really high quality items. They have quite a few Chicago-themed items as well, such as the aforementioned hat, onesies, t-shirts, and so on. It was so nice to talk with Vanessa and get to know her a bit. This is a small shop with big heart and should be on your list of fave baby shops in Chicago.

Right after I hit confirm I got a confirmation on my credit card. Immediately discovered I had bought three as there were two others accidentally in my shopping cart. I quickly looked to see how I could edit my placed order. NO LUCK. I then immediately emailed AND called to get the order corrected. 45 minutes on hold only to be told that within that 45 minutes, the order of three tables and chairs had be shipped. This was a Saturday and within 45 minutes from the time I hit the button the order was shipped..,I wasn't buying there statement. I was told that once I received the table and chairs (all three sets) that to call and they will schedule UPS return. I of course had to call. 30 more minutes on the phone to schedule return. About 10 days later I finally see money credited to my account BUT not the right amount. Pottery Barn Kids charged me shipping for each table ordered by mistake on an order I couldn't correct. I'm currently out $100 in extra shipping cost. 30 more minutes on the phone to dispute. The customer service rep takes notes. No outcome, no call back as of yet. I see another call to Pottery Barn. And we wonder why Brick and Mortar stores are going bankrupt. Amazon makes it so easy putting customer first. Pottery Barn doesn't care if they just lost a customer for life or ALL the people I have and plan to share this experience .

Sunday: I ordered a pair of curtains online for curbside pickup at this location. Within a couple of hours I got a phone call from them saying they only had one curtain but-no problem-they'd call around to other stores in the area and get back to me. When I got a text a few hours later saying that my order was ready to pickup, I called back to see if they had found another curtain. Not yet, but the man I spoke with said he had left messages at other stores and was just waiting to hear back from them. I didn't hear back that day but figured it was Sunday and I'd wait till the work week. Wednesday: I still hadn't heard from them so I called again. I explained my situation to the woman who answered the phone and she said she'd had the man I spoke with Sunday give me a call to update me on the status of his curtain search. She said he was on a call but would give me a call before the end of the day or if not for sure at 10:00 the next morning. The day ended. No call. Thursday: No call. I gave up on them and ordered curtains for my baby's room from Target.
