Besides the view, this place is terrible. The cocktails are crafted poorly- they need a new mixologist ASAP. The bar tenders are rusty- it wasn't even crowded and the bar tender confused our order, made the wrong drinks despite asking us to repeat our order 2-3 times. It was just three drinks!!!!! Also the whole concept of serving drinks in tall plastic glasses that are still wet inside and out is simply unappealing and insulting. The inventory needs some work too- it was early Saturday evening when we got there and they were already out of mint, two kinds of white wine and two kinds of red in addition to some of their cocktail ingredients. This place is beautiful. Views are incredible but service sucks!! We popped in on a Saturday night and the doorman let us know it was hotel guests only give me a damn break it was so empty. We gave him $100 since we had out of town guests and he lets us in. Honestly I was put off but my friends really wanted to check it out. On 12/31/2021 @ 6:45pm we lost total trust of Bowery citizenM hotel and cloudM restaurant. My sister called numerous times and she was assured that 12 of us can go to mCloud roof top restaurant, where we had 2-reservation for all of us, even though she reserved one hotel room for 4-people. But when we got there we were met at the door and told only people staying at the hotel had access to the rooftop restaurant. At the hotel front desk she reasoned that this was all on them and was able to get refund for the cancelled hotel room. Covid pandemic has been on going since 2020, there is no excuse to not properly setting safety procedure and keep hotel staff informed. The fact that restaurant and hotel staff are confused reflects Management confusion. Traveler/people call for reservations for the hotel and restaurant needs to be able to trust the information staff provides. No thanks for our restaurant reservation & making our New Year's Eve more stressful. No we do not recommend this hotel and the restaurant due total lack of communication. read more

Best new rooftop bar downtown. Views for days, solid drinks, comfortable seating, and interesting food options that seem to rotate. When I went, they were serving "dim sum" (e.g. shumai and fried noodles) which I have never seen before as a bar food option! The somewhat random location in Chinatown makes it a more diverse crowd and less douchey than, say, a midtown rooftop bar. Pro tip: spend some time in the super cool, modern art-filled hotel lobby and coffee shop/bar downstairs, and check out their "Museum of Street Art" as well, which is located in the building's stairwell (yes, really) and features graffiti by artists from all over the world. read more

I love this place!!!! The employees are absolutely wonderful, and so sweet. The only thing is that the doors close earlyish even though it's not super crowded- they said it was to manage the audience so people in the hotel could get in more easily, which I understand but still a little disappointing. Great little spot that I hope doesn't become too popular! Call ahead for a reservation. The views are really a knockout with the floor to ceiling windows! Most buildings in LES are only a few stories tall, so from the 20th floor you can see a lot! Very tasteful decor (think a nicer West Elm), and relaxed, almost quiet atmosphere. The view here is excellent but the cocktail menu leaves you wish they had more. I wanted a reason to stay longer but with a small beer and cocktail menu I decided to go elsewhere. I instead ordered my favorite which is an extra dirty martini. They wouldn't serve it to me in a martini glass since I was sitting outside...which blows. I then noticed a lipstick stain in my plastic tumbler that my drink was offered in and switched it to a new one. Turns out other folks complained of the same thing and said they said it was something with their dishwasher....yeah I certainly don't want a cup with someone else's lipstick remnants still on it though.. so in short the view was great but the experience and cleanliness of its tumblers were it's downfall. The best un-pretentious rooftop in NYC right now. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff here are beyond nice. This is super rare - I feel like rooftop bars can have very rough service. Decently priced (you're paying for the amazing view as well). Cocktails are good, it's never too crowded and the music was perfect. Make a reservation because it gets busy (for good reasons). Awesome view! My drink was kind of weak (which is never the case with me) and pricey, but the names are fun and the view is worth it. It looked beautiful at night, but next time I think I'll come during sunset. The patio was very spacious and inside they either have bar seating, table seating, or couches facing one another. The people working the front desk are the rudest I've ever seen, and completely inept at doing their job. Needed a place to host a semi-private event and this rooftop bar was the perfect place. Erik helped with all of the details and we set up a tab and reserved a small section of the bar. I cannot emphasize how amazing their events team is and the bar manager Eli helped make the event run smoothly and perfectly. This venue is so picturesque. Even though it ended up raining, the indoor portion of the rooftop is so cute. I really like the decor with the bright lights and bicycles and youthful/playful furniture. All of the specialty cocktails have interesting names and some of them come with a little souvenir. For example, the cowboy drink comes with a lace mask. The princess drink comes with a fake diamond ring. It really makes it fun to order a drink and find out what comes with it. They're in the $14-18 range, which is to be expected for a rooftop. Overall, though, I really like this place for a private event because planning was so easy and efficient with their team but I will also be back just to visit! read more

Service sucks, it wasn't even crazy busy given its summer and every other New York City rooftop bar is swarming with people and long lines. Our first round of drinks took like forever to come served in plastic cups and they are not cheap. Common people show some respect it's a rooftop bar of Citizen hotel not some tiki bar serve a cocktail how it is supposed to be served makes one enjoy their drink more ‍. Food was ok few Asian options not bad ! We never got around our second round of drinks Some health inspector showed up on a Friday night they temporarily stopped serving drinks. So we moved to a nearby rooftop Lastlight . Which wasn't bad! This can be a great place if a little more attention is paid. read more

I really enjoyed this rooftop lounge. My friends and I decided to come here after seeing the enticing photos online. There was no cover when we lined up around 9pm. The wait was around 20-30 mins since they were only able to accommodate 5-7 people in the elevator every 5-10 minutes. When we arrived upstairs, there weren't that many people. I'm getting the gist that this is a place where people go to pregame because it was super relaxed and music wasn't blasting. This was exactly what I was looking for so we were there for quite some time. The views were amazing. It wasn't in the middle of Time Square, but certainly breathtaking. The outside lounge area was comfortable and can accommodate for large groups. I found the couches inside even more comfortable, so you can't go wrong. The drink options were pretty unique. Moreover, after keeping a tab open, the bar tender took forever to find my card and had already declined a drink to my friend saying that they don't have my card. The rooftop bar at this establishment, racially profiled myself and my party who came to celebrate a birthday. When I finally asked to speak to the manager. I was told that there wasn't a manager on duty which I found absurd. Finally one came out of hiding and when I explained to him the events that occurred, not once did he show empathy. He defended his team and disregarded my perception and tried to invalidate my feelings. He even had the audacity to say that his team watches weekly videos on racially profiling. Seriously??!! He tried to calm me down and assumed I wanted compensation by bringing over a round of shots. News flash not all black people want to be compensated! We want respect and to be treated equally! Visited NYC for the holidays and decided to visit this rooftop bar. We went upstairs and immediately were told if we didn't have a reservation we had to leave. There was no one in there so it was very confusing but we left. On our way out we came across a bar right outside the elevator. We decided to have a drink ; a couple minutes later the same young man came and told us we had to leave . He informed us that only guest of the Hotel were allowed to have drinks.
