Most meticulous pedicure I've ever had in my 4+ years living in Manhattan. I'm not even pretending here. I walked out with some smooth and slick looking toe nails that I could not stop staring at. I love this place! I was raving to my friend about it the other day because of all the nail salons I have visited, this is BY FAR the friendliest place I've been to. Every single worker here was smiling and friendly with not even a hint of snobbery or rudeness. They are very fast and efficient here, but do a really thorough job. No nail streaks! Including tax, a mani is just $10.50, which is pretty cheap for the neighborhood. Everything is really clean here, too, and no gross nail smells. I debated on whether I should leave a review of this place or not because I don't like leaving negative reviews in general and nor do I like to whine. However, I think it's important for everyone to be aware of the carelessness of one of their nail techs. Earlier this week I was in the area so decided to get a quick pedi and mani and boy, was that a mistake. Everything was normal when I walked in; they asked me what I needed and led me to a pedicure seat. As I was in a rush two nail techs worked on me at the same time; Tania was doing my pedicure and Debbie was doing my manicure. Long story short, Tania made my left big toe bleed by aggressively sticking in the metal push tool instrument into the corner of my outer toenail. I yelped (no pun intended) and pulled my whole foot back. She immediately said sorry but then blamed me that I was bleeding because I was moving my foot around. NO, I'M BLEEDING BECAUSE YOU POKED ME. I've been getting pedicures for over 10+ years and this is the first time I've ever bled. She also kept trying to upscale me to a nicer spa pedicure and asked twice if I wanted quick dry polish. All I wanted was for her to hurry up so I could get the hell out. Debbie tried to distract me and make up for it but it was too late for that. She did a good job with my manicure but because of the negative experience with my toe I won't be visiting again. My toe was throbbing all afternoon and being deathly afraid of getting some kind of crazy infection I've been soaking it in a peroxide bath every night. So far it seems okay. It pains me to do this because I have been a regular customer for over 2 years, never going anywhere else even though I eventually moved jobs so it was inconvenient for me to come here. The owner is super nice and attentive so I hate having to write this but my experience yesterday was just so bad. Tania was absolutely the worst. It was the shortest mani and pedi that I ever got. We started with a pedi and she was trying to upsell me to a spa pedi. I said no. She barely filed or took care of the nails and I was done before this other person who was there even before me. I had asked for a 10 minute shoulder massage and at this point kind of regretting asking for it. Anyway, onto the mani. It was basically the same story. No attention to the nails, super fast, and I got the shortest massage I have ever received at a nail salon. I had cuticles sticking out everywhere and it was just a sloppy job. I debated asking her to fix it or even talking to the owner lady but I decided against it as I didn't want the eye roll and sigh from Tania when I had said anything to her before. Now the massage. It was fine though while she was massaging my arm and hands, she scraped a nail and there was a big gash. I wondered if she would fix it on her own but of course not. After the massage she pretended nothing happened so I asked her to repaint it. All throughout the massage she was chewing her bubble gum and blowing bubbles, yawning loudly, and just being unprofessional. This experience alone has led me to look for someplace else. It's a super reasonable place with consistent quality which I liked but I will save myself the trouble of going to Tania again and go somewhere that is a bit more professional. read more

I love that this place is super close to my office and all the women seem to be really friendly (they seriously know their regulars). They have an insane collection of Essie and OPI. And it's clean. They're very attentive - I've never had such a thorough conversation about my like of my current nail color, the degree of the curve to the rouneded squares I like my nails to have, and my satisfaction with the color I selected. This probably would hav been a 5 star manicure, except their love of the regulars led Soon to leave me soaking in rapidly cooling water to tend to someone's waxing. Then the 2 most ready manicurists started on 2 clients who had arrived after me. It took only a few moments (more than 5 fewer than 10) for Amy to settle in and do a great job, but it was still disconcerting and annoying (especially since I needed to get back to work. All in all - great manicure. When I'm a regular, I'm sure I'll love the special attention - and they'll probably get the 5th star. read more

The quality of the manis are great with their attention to detail, but they don't sanitize their equipment between clients!!! I got a gel mani, and when it was my turn to have my nails filed, the technician came over with the same box of supplies she had just used on another client a few stations over, and she started using them on me. And then after I was done, she went over to a different station with the same tools and started using them on a third woman! Sometimes they pull equipment out of their drawers, but there is no disinfecting liquid to be seen and they don't clean them before they start using them on you. I'm really bummed to have noticed this, because they are so nice and friendly, the price is great, and they do a great job with their varnish application. However, not disinfecting equipment between clients is a deal breaker for me. read more

I took two clients here for manis/pedis per their request, and I would definitely not agree to come back. The first problem was with the appointment. I made an appointment for three manis/pedis at a specific time to make sure we would all be able to sit together, and when we arrived, they had three pedicure stations set up with other people sitting between each of us. Once I expressed my concern, they asked us to wait 10 more minutes and chairs would open up. Not off to a great start! The biggest problem I had with the place though was their gel manicure. I normally get gel, so I'm very familiar with the process. Clover was by far one of the most painful experiences I've had. First, she didn't let my nails soak long enough and instead just tore at them to get the polish off. Second, once she did get it off, she filed my nails down so much that they became paper thin on two different nails and started to bleed. Sooooo painful! Then, three days after my manicure, two of my nails split right down the middle where she had filed them down to nothing. Needless to say it was incredibly painful and I will definitely not be coming back. There's a chance it could have just been the person who attended to me, but I would strongly advise against getting gel here. read more

My friends and I stopped by after seeing positive reviews of the place for an impromptu girls' outing. It looked like a small space, but it was actually very comfortable. The ladies there were all friendly and patient as I took 15 minutes trying to choose a color and then ended up going for a classic french. They were precise in getting the exact nail shape and tip length that I wanted. A regular manicure costs $10 and french manicure was $15. There was also a deal for a manicure and pedicure for $33 which I am planning on going back for. Overall, wonderful experience for a relaxing time! I've worked in the neighborhood for almost two years and so far this is my favorite nail spot. I typically come here for a manicure/polish change or an eyebrow wax, though I've gotten a pedicure here a couple of times and been happy with it. As far as the manicure goes: I feel they do the best job shaping my nails, the polish is never thinned out or dried out, the nail/cuticle trim and polish application are always very neat, and the drying machines work really well. I've always been happy with the eyebrow wax. I'm pretty particular about not having them too thin or far apart and they always listen and do a great job with minimal redness. Overall yes, it's a few dollars more than some other spots nearby, but I don't mind since they do a superior job. read more

Got the Euro balsam which helps remove rough cuticles and calluses in 5 min, so the poster claims. It worked, but I live in the city.. so they're obviously coming back. Micaela was my technician and she was very thorough. I definitely felt the she gave me the full attention and service deserving of $37. The place/environment is not the cleanest or the prettiest. The owner, I'm guessing, has apparently been able to lure A-list celebrities (well, depends on who you consider to be A-list..) like Selena Gomez and Kim Kardashian into this location. My poor nails were in DIRE need of TLC...again!! I happened upon this place (thanks fellow Yelpers) and I am glad how my pedicure turned out. It really is a typical nail salon, nothing fancy. The price is listed in clear (pick up your head) view, even though I asked, they still told me the price. The girl who did my nails was good. My only complaint was she was a bit slow for my taste, but my nails were done nicely so it is what it is. The owner was funny. I could not get my nails done due to dinner, but I told her next time. As I was walking out she told me to be careful, as a mother would, and if anything happens, come back. My only issue was the pedicure chair I was sitting in was not sturdy at all. There has been no male employee at Clover Nails, and I know this as I am a regular there. Victoria Nails had the male employee. Was in NYC for work and got a gel manicure with Linda -- she did an excellent job! She is incredibly detail-oriented and you can tell she's been in the business for a long time. She may come off as a little dry at first, but she is actually really funny. The owner is very sweet and the place is clean. Even when it's busy, it's not loud. Great selection of colors and designs. Good location if you need to get your nails done well in the city (trust me, there are lots of nail salons in the city that do a bad job). I got a gel manicure and I even noticed as the woman was painting my nails that it seemed messy and that the lines were not neat and were uneven. A few days later all of my nails started to peel, and gel's usually last at least 2 weeks for me. The gel came right off, as if it hadn't even adhered to my nail. It was hot in the pedicure area, (my back was wet when I was finished) the pedicure chairs are hard and do not have a massage option. It wasn't a great experience. Clover nails doesn't have a welcoming atmosphere, is seems like employees aren't allowed to talk to each other. It was clean.
